Fell in love with this song when I heard it on a friend's iPod, then actually listened to it and found out it was about boxing... more importantly Joe Louis...and now I respect it even more
So funny because this has been a comfort song for me for years and I was *just* watching Dream Corp LLC and heard the tune to this song and had to come listen to it because I realized it's been awhile
I listen to this album and it's 2010, I just graduated college, I am working at a Pacific Wave surf shop in Santa Cruz. My band is just picking up steam. I am young, thin, poor as fuck, and completely naive. It's been a good life.
I like the way the song started..at first it sounded like Jethro Tull...I couldn't find the song...until I got this here iPad and I used the Shazam to identify the song for me.... I had the music recorded off the radio on to my cell phone and then to my iPad......there should have been some guitar with distortion! And do away with all the high pitched singing...it would've been a better song if I could help them!
oh Max Schmeling was a formidable foe/ the ambling alp was, too - at least that's what i'm told / but if you learn one thing, you learn it well: in june you must give fascists hell/ they/ll run, but they can't hide.
Yes Joe knocked out both Primo (the ambling alp) Carnera and Max Schmelling. Both former heavyweight champions. He was knocked out by Schmelling in an earlier bout.
And both citizens of fascist states. Hence the "you must give fascist hell". I think the "in June" alludes to the Normandy landings. Schmelling was a paratrooper. He was severely wounded in Crete. He got rich after the war. He supported Joe Lewis in later life.
@Tumbleweed you're literally sitting here complaining that you both discovered a song you like in different ways. chill with the elitism. it's nice for more people to like cool stuff
This was the last song my son sent me a week b4 he past ❤
i hope you are okay
It’s a wonderful swan song for your son to send. I’m sorry to hear of this
‘I’ve always loved you. Sometimes, I didn’t like you, but I always loved you,’

It's not about Joe Louis.
This is the perfect balance between indie pop, experimental rock, & psychedelic pop.

@@dougxvale They incorporate some middle eastern & west African elements into their music, so that would make sense
I lost my mind to all this cray crayness. and loved it
Will my lows have their compliment of highs? I try to remind myself! This song helps.
The self-affirming stuff speaks to our true selves. We are magical creatures , and don't need cameronium, or gatesium, to inform us of that.
The kings of indie. Supercharged energy with yinyang suspension with a thermodynamic watercooled 32 squared double rotary engine.
Hell yeah

Don't let how cool this song is keep you from listening to the lyrics' sound advice.
Lord knows I've gotta keep my fleet feet sliding side to side.
Amen, sir. Jesus is out here preaching the truth.
Dream Corp LLC sent me on a grand chase to find this song, and that journey is finally complete after half a year
Great show!

Good little band. (Heard a few in my time).
Dream Corp LLC!!!
Sounds similar to some music in the lost boys when they take the old man's car.
i love the line "in june you must give fascists hell"

I tell myself this sometimes. Remind myself to keep my fleet feet sliding...
Never knew this song was about boxer Joe Lewis fighting Italy’s ambling alp

If the tattoo on my arm burned in then I know that would be bad
perhaps wrong but I think the sentiment is there
