I know you said Cancun as the worst and I agree with you for all those reasons, but for someone like myself who lives in the area... Would you recommend a specific spot in Cozumel or the Riviera Maya that you have visited in the last 5-10 years? Greeting from Quintana Roo, Mexico.
Cozumel has so many locations. Even though it is only 18 miles from Cancun, they are worlds apart in the diving quality. I personally like Palancar reefs at Cozumel. There are 5 or 6 different locations that are spectacular at Palancar. As far as Riviera Maya, same as Cancun. There is nothing there. Terrible diving. If you are on the mainland you have to drive almost 3 hours south to begin to get some decent diving. Akumal, and south. Hope it helps. Sorry for the delay. Freddy
Also I’m sure you have done diving in great steer reef in Australia, any particular dive sights/ names you would recommend? We plan to do liveaboard, would love to know where is the best dive sights there.
Check out Mike Ball liveaboards. They dive out of Caan. There is still some good diving out of there. Cod hole is a good one.

Thank you for this. I am looking for a destination for our next "winter in the tropics" trip and I've added Rajat Ampat to the top of the list of places to consider.
Depending on where you are leaving from it can be a haul to get there. Plan on more than a week if you have to travel far. But you won't be dissapointed. I will release our Raja Ampat On Location video soon so you can see the diving there.Thanks for watching. Freddy
