There is one objection I have to this maxim. Ask questions. No need to make statements. The questions you ask and the answers you receive will be all the evidence you need to make a mental statement which need not be spoke aloud but dwelled upon and thoroughly considered. In the Socratic way, you don't need to state anything. It will be stated for you, if, you ask the right questions.

Being delusional is not inherently a bad thing. If all you've known is delusion then how can anyone expect you to not be? What people expect is for people to when presented with good evidence that they can change their minds. That's a hard thing to do for everyone. This exact scenario is playing out in "Gamer Gate 2: The Woke Redux". Watching it in real time has been utterly hilarious. I applaud the kid for making his case, however misguided, but it takes courage to go toe to toe with Peterson. It's a learning lesson and if I were in that position my biggest takeaway would be that my picture of the world isn't nuanced enough. Great video, great commentary. This student is trying to make the case that Jordan is only opposed to "compelled-speech"... _that Jordan is opposed to._ And by extension, that Jordan _WOULDN'T_ be opposed to compelled-speech which Jordan agrees with. And the evidence for this is that Jordan doesn't denounce EVERY. SINGLE. THING. That should reasonably be denounced.

I applaud the kid for making his case, however misguided, but it takes courage to go toe to toe with Peterson. It's a learning lesson and if I were in that position my biggest takeaway would be that my picture of the world isn't nuanced enough.

It's easy to lay into the kid, isn't it? But the real problem is that he was allowed to grow up that way without being taught the values of actual critical thinking, intellectual discussion, and hearing a conflicting viewpoint.
