      @suzannelong4631 Год назад +5

      Two items I need to share in my reply to your statement.
      A. Please know that in October 2022, it was reported that, ' Canada spends more than $300 billion annually on health care. That's about 13% of our GDP - the second highest among OECD countries. More than half of health spending goes to three areas: hospitals (25%), drugs (14%) and physicians (13%). and,
      B. At least you have a universal Health Care System that provides medically necessary hospital and physician services free at the point of use. In the US no such thing exists and people are held hostage to the multi million $ insurance companies whose only interest is in making $. To prove the point and how lucky you are, in March 2022, it was reported that, 'An estimated 112 million (44%) American adults are struggling to pay for healthcare' and '43% of working-age adults were inadequately insured . ' This also means that children whose parents are in these groups also suffer from inadequate health care.

      Please explain how he keeps Canadians from working? If you are referring to the Canada imposed a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for cross-border truckers, I guess you didn't know that the U.S. had the same mandate in effect. Any trucker wanting/needing to enter the US must show proof of vaccination before being allowed to enter. And this has been put in place to lower the rate of transmission of Covid as a means towards helping to protect both Canadians and Americans. In addition, as was reported back then, 90% of truckers were already vaccinated and kept on working during the Convoy protests. :)

You forgot again there was also an American freedom convoy. Currently only 18.7 percent of Canadians have a 4th dose even though we're on dose 5. That is the number without threatening peoples livelihoods. That is the number when it's revealed that its efficacy doesn't last very long or stop transmission. A small fringe minority indeed.

Proposed legislation is introduced in Parliament in the form of a bill which provides the basis to amend or repeal existing laws or put new ones in place. To become Canadian federal law, a bill must be approved in identical form by both houses of Parliament - the Senate and the House of Commons. All bills follow a process of debate, review and voting.' In short, all decisions made concerning laws and legislations are made through the process of debate by all members in the House of Commons and all members in the Senate. I'm no expect but JT did come across as somewhat pissed and defensive when it came to health transfers...On Conservatives...being hard on them is not so difficult, since they don't really have coherent policies. CPP enhancement, that was agreed upon by all provinces including the ones ruled by local conservatives and that is focussed on ensuring the Plan will be there past 2050? Nah, let's just call it tax and scream. Inflation? Let's blame monetary policy that the government doesn't really control, than talking about our reliance on global supply chains. Housing crisis? Let's promise to work with municipalities and talk to them so they would build more. It's not that we have the Federal Spending Power at our disposal to just make it work. We're all for freedom but Supply Management and chartered banking -- we shall keep those. Immigration? Nothing there, just promising to bring more doctors to Canada. CPC had an issuing of public image with O'Toole, who wasn't all that recognisable but had a tone of policies in his pocket. PP is kinda recognisable - in a polarising way - but so far made very few policy commitments. And even those are quite simplistic and have largely failed when tried elsewhere. Read his Plain Language Law and the One-for-One Rule in the UK.

As we know, that was in response to the Convoy protest blockades of downtown Ottawa and border crossings in several Canadian cities. I found it interesting to note that two-thirds of Canadians supported the use of Emergencies Act.

      @@suzannelong4631 EA Act is martial law it is a suspension of civil liberties and the protests didn't meet the threshold of invoking the act according to several Civil rights groups and the commissioners of the Inquiry at the outset said they too didn't believe the thresholds were met.
      As for the vaccines, we now know that they don't stop the transmission of Covid they merely reduce symptoms caused by Covid. What justification was there for vaccine mandates exactly, when the vaccines didn't stop transmission? The US CDC even admits this in their guidelines, which I recommend you read.
      As for people supporting martial law, I mean I think it's crazy how supportive Canadians have been of these totalitarian and largely pointless measures. My faith in my fellow countrymen is at an all time low.
      The same people who were supportive of the EA being invoked were also likely the same people who were very nasty to the unvccinated, referring to us as plague rats, Typhoid Mary, grandmother killers, misogynists, fascists. Nurses with natural immunity to the virus were fired for lack of compliance. It was a traumatizing experience for many of us. My family would not invite me to functions.

      @Riley I cannot understand why a 'hunter' would need a semi-automatic to shoot a deer, when many enjoy the sport and benefits by using a rifle and bowhunting to name a few. :)
      The following should be of interest, "While America’s lawmakers grapple with deep ties to the National Rifle Association and a reluctance to do much about the gun violence crisis that most recently resulted in the deaths of young children in Uvalde, Texas, and senior citizens at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, Canada has provided the blueprint to stop mass shootings.
      As of May 1, 2020, the government north of the border said it has prohibited over 1,500 models of assault-style firearms and certain components of some newly prohibited firearms, including AR-15 and M4 weapons." 😀

      @@bradcanning875 you are kidding right? The Trudeau government has only ever been doing interviews with Government funded media outlets. It’s a little hard to expect unbiased reporting and constructive criticism from reporters that you essentially sign paycheques for. PP has done interviews with MSM as well as independent media. The conservative government does not subsidized independent media either. Those journalists actually fund themselves from selling merchandise and subscriptions to people like you and me as the liberal govt refuses to help fund them. The Liberal MP’s also refuse to accept any interviews on independent media, so it’s not like they haven’t been trying to get sit downs with them. They also actively block members of the independent media from attending press conferences and when they manage to get in, the Liberal MP’s publicly refuse to answer any questions from them.
