  • It’s been a little more than four months since Pierre Poilievre took the reigns of the federal Conservative Party of Canada.
Since then, the new Tory leader has made it a habit of not speaking regularly with large media outlets, but today Poilievre did agree to speak to Global News.
One of the topics discussed was the travel chaos Canadians dealt with over the holiday season, with Poilievre placing the blame at the feet of the federal Liberals.
After delivering a speech at Winnipeg’s Frontier Centre for Public Policy on Friday, Poilievre sat down with Global’s Melissa Ridgen.

@@johanneskolenbrander8288 hydro-electric power, not hydrogen. Did you even watch the video? I do work in the energy industry and have some idea what’s going on and what Poilievre says in this video doesn’t make any sense. Hydro-electric projects and modular nuclear reactors cost billions of dollars. You don’t “find efficiencies and cap spending” and then build those. That math doesn’t work, period. And he entirely dismisses solar and wind, which are far cheaper, and can compliment other more robust power sources. The Ontario electricity grid consists of nuclear, hydro, solar, wind, and natural gas. Poilievre either doesn’t know what he’s talking about, which I find highly unlikely, or he is appealing to people who have no idea how these things work. You don’t need to be a genius to know that you can’t cap spending and build dams and hydropower plants and nuclear reactors at the same time.

Is his plan to have the Alberta wing or his terrorists to end the lives of the elves and the RCMP officers for keeping the peace??? Only one leader of a party marched in protest of the country on the Canada Weekend and that was ('I'm proud of the truckers") Pierre Poilievre!!! Terrorism is defecating and urinating on the war memorial and dancing on the tomb of the unknown soldier!!! Terrorism is blocking the border and blocking billions of dollars of trade, causing plant closures, layoffs and permanent business closures!!! Terrorism is revving your diesel engine in a dense residential neighborhood and blowing your air horn all night long when members of parliament live miles away in distant suburban neighborhoods!!! Terrorism is planning to kill RCMP officers!!! At the border the RCMP found 13 long guns, handguns, multiple sets of body armour, pipe bombs, gas masks, a machete, 36,098 rounds of ammunition in plastic containers, and high capacity magazines! 4 men charged with conspiracy to commit murder!!! Over 80% of the country agrees, these Clownvoy fools are terrorists! Even the Nanos Poll verified the country approves of the use of the Emergencies Act!!! Why does ('I'm proud of the truckers") Pierre Poilievre want guns that can easily and illegally be converted to fully automatic RCMP killing machines in the hands of his terrorists? He does not understand Canada's constitution or lack of. We tried in the 1980s , Joe Clark and Brian Mulroney . He just says what ever you want to hear, just like Trump. Go back to the house if commons during the occupation of Ottawa, and conservatives fired O'Toole, a long period avoiding the house, then interim leader; Candice Bergen, Scheer had a very racist rant about first Nations in BC , surrounding an issue with Elizabeth May. The conservatives have had years of bad relationships with first Nations. Harper's use of the Indian act, within the framework of the oil business, showed no respect for BC's nations.

      Plan:
      1. Cap spending. That has been tried a million times, it has the opposite effect on the economy.
      2. Put billions into Hydro and Nuclear. The LPC just put a ton of money into Nuclear. Places that can use Hydro are already using it. Places like NS do not or cannot dam rivers because there aren't any where it works. Also projects like that would be massive, which would be impossible to fund if spending was capped.

As for the enviroment, Canada is literally only 2% of the entire planets carbon emissions, we’d do more good for the planet if we could instead of worrying about our 2% putting pressure (economic pressure via being an alternative for fuel) on the real polluters of the world, Russia and China, and to do that we provide the world with enviromentally and sustainably produced gas and oil.

    • @nickkemp4979

@@Ashbringer36 No, that's just not true at all. There are something like 1.3 million empty homes in Canada that are being used to park money. Additionally rich people buy houses and flip them to make a quick buck.. That's just a function of capitalism. Also, wages have been on the decline for decades. People can't afford anything. These are all just problems with capitalism.
And it's not just about Canada's own output. We export oil and gas to the United States and we have trade arrangements with other countries. We need to transition to a greener economy and it's going to take the entire planet to be a part of that transition.
