Jefferson didn't use drugs, he could just command that they do it - and if they didn't, he could have them killed as an example... or sell of their families separately.

It's known that the ones who got free, some stayed in the area and did business in order to attempt to buy their families back as available.

How the mighty do fall. Used to have a tv show, was very popular in the 70s/80s, and could do no wrong. Fast forward years later and he's locked up for reasons I'm sure you all know. It really is depressing

The show’s ratings have been consistently strong and had a 12-year network run (1972-1984) on CBS. The show changed titles from Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids to The New Fat Albert Show in 1979 to reflect some changes in the show, which featured the incorporation of 50 new half-hour episodes. This was done to open the gates for a strong syndication sale and those new 50 half-hour episodes were combined with the previous episodes that had been done so that the show could do well in the off-network syndicated TV market for the long term. Retitled The Adventures of Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids in 1984 to 1985, with broadcast stations airing reruns until September 9, 1988, at which point, the series played for a while on cable on the USA Network’s USA Cartoon Express lineup. While airing on USA Network at the same time, the show had a limited run on the NBC Saturday Morning in 1989, but the show consisted of only reruns, mostly airing season 8 (1984-85) of The Adventures of Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. It was the same reruns as aired on local syndicated affiliates.
