Only got back from san Diego last Friday...we drove from san Francisco airport with stays at carmel (beautiful) san luis abispo, and santa Barbara.....with stops in-between.... brilliant it was too..... only disappointment was we couldn't drive big sur due to landslides.....gutted, as i was wanting to drive over Bixby bridge....but the holiday itself was amazing, including Chicago where it all began....❤❤ Thanks America
Sounds like a fun trip! :)
heading to the area in a few months' time....after a Route-66 drive.. how close could you get to the Bixby Bridge? - also one of my to-see list.. for obvious reasons..
@@user-jw9lq5ib6g it was blocked off at least 40mls away... I drove to the very last road closed sign and was told it was approximately 40 mile drive by a construction worker who was stopping traffic from going any further....gutted as it was a once in a lifetime trip.
@@user-jw9lq5ib6g I would check this site before you go: www.bigsurcalifornia.org/highway_conditions.html
@@travelthetop many thanks.. excellent link and information

Is PCH closed right now? why doesn’t it give me the option for the coastal side when I look up directions from SF to LA.
Yes, it’s closed - there were several mudslides :/
Missed Neptune's net
great video... yea, agree on the convertible car hire.. 15 years ago i was driving up/down and around the BigSur, SFO area in a Mustang convertible.. crank up the music.. yea.. something with the SoCal air, sun and all... well, It Never Rains, etc... soon back in the area, after a westbound Route-66 trip, plus some..
Thanks for your comment! Sounds like it was a great trip… :)
I had no idea that there was a feces map in San Francisco. It sounds like these blue sanctuary cities are absolutely terrifying.
Dont let the internet brainwash you. Sure there are rough areas in every city but there are also a TON of nice areas of SF and LA.
