What do you think of these 5 dividend payers? Are they worth it? I probably should have mentioned it in this video, but I'll talk about it in the primer video, but MLP's can be volatile (the price of the stock - not the dividend) and they have some tax issues around them, but I'll get into that in the primer video.
Hey Jimmy. I just watched this again. Great video - as always. I have a few questions which I truly hope you'll be able to reply: 1. Now, end of Mar 2020 after the stock exchange 'crash', we see some MLPs have yields as high as 25%. Do you think they're too risky as in 'too good to be true'? How do you see MLPs today for both near and long future? 2. Do you still fancy REITs better than MLPs for long term today? 3. What do you think of AMLP (which is an ETF), would you recommend it better? Will truly appreciate it if you can address. Perhaps you can revisit this video and make an updated version. Thanks MUCH man !
Nice vid Jimmy. I own Energy Transfer (ET) with a 9% yield and some growth potential as well. Unfortunately energy sector including MLP's is hated right now , but I'll keep taking the yield until cycle turns.
I'm always curious about AMLP. But first I need your intro to MLP's so I'm more knowledgeable in general. Any help or reference to other videos always appreciated. Keep up the good work!
Great work, Jimmy! I've started investing for a year now and thanks to your help, my portofolio is doing fairly well. 10% returns this year + some tasty dividends. Thank you and please keep doing what you do!
Good video Jimmy. I invested in a few MLPs earlier including the AMLP. However I am concerned that with the oncoming recession MLPs may slash their dividends and go down in value because of their high dependence on leverage. What do you feel about leverage and MLPs? Unless an MLP is giving me a yield higher than a regular stock atleast 8-10% I am not encouraged to invest in them.
Great video, cannot wait for the primer. It would be amazing if you could cover how mlps behave during recession. Also, Mplx coverage would be hugely appreciated. 😉 (I do own Mplx.)
Thanks for the recommendations. A primer on MLPs would be very helpful. Lots of questions, like: What are tax implications (UBTI, K-1s)? How to value them (DCF vs FCF vs earnings)? Role of the GP & merits/demerits of investing in them instead? How do MLPs raise funds for growth (follow on offerings, debt)? E.g., KMI cut their div due to threat of credit rating cut & falling prices.
Hi Jimmy,😀 what do you think of ULTA after the 30% price drop. there is some lowered guidance but financials look good to me. Am I missing something. I know the market overreacts but this seems extreme. Sorry this isn't a dividend stocks but I watch all of your videos and this is the latest. Love your breakdowns. You hit it analysis from so many angles. You definitely go above and beyond👍👍👍 appreciate ya!
One thing I don't think was made clear is this market is almost entirely based on the cost of petroleum. Yes, these midline companies don't suffer like lift companies, but my god once lift troubles start everyone freaks. Look at AM, strong options for the next two years, but damn if the market runs screaming.
I personally feel like investing in JNJ regardless of whatever lawsuits are going on will always be a good idea. They have proven themselves over many many years and even though they do occasionally find themselves in some trouble I feel like they are a solid play. Lawsuits come with huge companies and JNJ is at the top of their sector.
How about MLP funds like KYN, NTG or NML? With those you don't have to suffer any K-1 form headaches. However, owners who bought into them have been screwed so far. Do you think such MLP funds are good long term buys as of today?
I actually thought about mentioning AMLP as a way to grab a bunch of MLPs at the same time. I think AMLP acts very similar, it's just more broadly diversified- which is probably a good thing.
@Jim Jim That's a great point. This is the issue with ETFs in General. If we like a broad sector and don't want to pick names, I think and ETF helps to diversify and give us quick exposure to a whole sector. But if we want to try to beat the market, picking individual stocks can make a lot of sense if we are OK with the added concentration risk.
I wish I knew more about mlps I'm new to investing so all I knew was you have to do a 5k paperwork for your taxes and didn't know much about it but I was looking at tallgrass energy when it dipped before Blackstone offered a buyout and their price rocketed up....truthfully I still don't know much about mlps lol
That's true, thats what happened to the dividend back in 2015. During 2014 KMI merged with KMP and killed the official MLP status, although they have come out and said they still plan on paying out most of their profits as dividends, so I figured it made sense to keep them up here for those who prefer this type of company. But you're 100% correct, I should have mentioned that they are not technically an MLP anymore. Thanks for the support!
The first of the year I added 50k each to PAA , ET and MPLX.. I plan to hold and reinvest distributions the avg of the 3 together is 11.58% yield. Like all of us I didn't expect this Corona 19 virus to hammer them. Why are these midstream companies so effected by the price of WTI it's almost lock step downward. What's your long term thoughts on where we are going? Thank you great videos
LOL, I appreciate the kind words. I'm working on the volume. I'm actually editing a video now on stocks that have done well in the past three market crashes. Hopefully, you like that one as well. (P.S. I wish I could post 2 a day. But a lot of these videos take a while to research, and I'm too afraid to weaken the research just to get more videos out - but more videos are the goal- I'm with you! 😃)

Basically it's more or less build to rent out. Not exactly fun.
PAA, ET, Oneok even tho it's not MLP. I'm getting 12.8 percent on oñeok
Can you cover the tax issue with MLP as well? I heard that it’s more complicated than common stocks. Thanks.
They are, MLPs issue K1's which can be annoying. I'll be sure to cover that when I do the MLP Primer video. Thanks for the support!
@@LearntoInvest Where are you>? LOL Make IT PLZ

Great video, Jimmy. I wasn't aware of MLP's! It's great to learn new stuff.
I'm glad you liked it, thanks for the support! 😁👍
Thanks for going into the details and sharing these Jimmy! 👍
HESM...no debt, funding growth with cash flow, 7% yield
I'm always curious about AMLP. But first I need your intro to MLP's so I'm more knowledgeable in general. Any help or reference to other videos always appreciated. Keep up the good work!
What you think of ET?
Thoughts on MPLX?
Hi Jimmy thank you for helping us. What about ENB
What are your thoughts on Mplx, and ET?
what about mplx? Dividend yield of over 9%
Very informative as always! What do you fancy more at the moment REITs or a MLPs? Thank you.
At the moment I'm probably a bigger fan of REITs.
Great info - thanks
Great work, Jimmy! I've started investing for a year now and thanks to your help, my portofolio is doing fairly well. 10% returns this year + some tasty dividends. Thank you and please keep doing what you do!
I am more excited about the traditional blue stocks right now, e.g. PG, JNJ, PEP.
I like PG and PEP, but they have run up so much, not inclined to buy at those high PE's. I bought more JNJ this week
Thanks so much for sharing these information. Can you discuss NLY and REM?
I bought the Alerian MLP ETF due to the fact I'm new to investing in MLP's. I would love for you to do a primer on MLP's!
Oneok you thank me later. 12.8 percent DIV
@Sunamer Z believe it or not oneok is c-corp

Don’t own any of your picks but 3 out of 5 (MMP, EPD, and KMI) are on my watch list.
I'm curiouse about paying inco.e tax to various states.
Thanks for the recommendations. A primer on MLPs would be very helpful. Lots of questions, like: What are tax implications (UBTI, K-1s)? How to value them (DCF vs FCF vs earnings)? I'm skipping (nearly) all MLPs. (Taxation outside from USA)
Hey Jimmy, great video! I also love EPD. What would you say about buying it now? The price is super low, right?
What happened to AMLP??
Great video! I've been watching MMP for awhile. Have you ever consider EQM? Starting yield over 15% and raises their distributions every quarter!
I like EPD! It's time to load up.
Hi Jimmy,😀 what do you think of ULTA after the 30% price drop. there is some lowered guidance but financials look good to me. Am I missing something. I'm actually a big fan of ULTA, I haven't tried to value it recently, let me take a peek at it and put together a video :) thanks for the support 😊👍😁
I would like to hear more about REITs from you.
I'm gonna do a top 3 for REITs as well :😁👍🙂
Are these funds a good choice for Roth ira
Are you still planning on releasing the primer?
I wish with MLPs we didn't have to deal with K1s.
For sure
Great video, thank you. What about today, after the crisis?
One thing I don't think was made clear is this market is almost entirely based on the cost of petroleum. Yes, these midline companies don't suffer like lift companies, but my god once lift troubles start everyone freaks.
Look at AM, strong options for the next two years, but damn if the market runs screaming.
Interested in MLP tax
Hey Jimmy, do you think JNJ would be a good buy once the opioid lawsuits become yesterday’s news?
That's a great question, I'm gonna dig into that one, could make a good video
Learn to Invest Thank you!!

Yes mmp! I already own some and want more. Long mmp.
I prefer EPD.

What do you think of AMZA, Jimmy?
I haven't looked at AMZA too much, I'll take a peek at it and see if I can do a video on it. Thanks for the idea and the support
No EQM?
Now I'm wondering if I should dump AMLP since it didn't make your list. 🤔🤔🤔
I actually thought about mentioning AMLP as a way to grab a bunch of MLPs at the same time. I think AMLP acts very similar, it's just more broadly diversified- which is probably a good thing.

I thought MLP’s don’t pay a dividend. It’s my understanding that they pay a distribution instead. Please clarify.
Looking forward to this series!
Global x mlp etf... has those mlps in their holdings.
I'll put together a MLP primer, hopefully that helps a bit more.... Thanks for your support 😁
I like Sun although not an mlp. A dependable 10 percent payer
Why are all of them getting killed?
KMI I do not believe is an LP any longer.
That's true, thats what happened to the dividend back in 2015. @@LearntoInvest Thanks for the reply. This a tough sector to invest in and the ETF AMLP reflects that holding a bunch is not the right strategy.

Lucky you, Peter.
Oneok it's mainly natural gas and pays 12.8 percent. I'll make 3700 a year right now off 29.5g
Reinvest those dividends compound the shares
Good Job!!!
I like ET
I like PAA
Number 1 is EPD, of course this is 3 years
I kind of like FUN
I haven't looked at FUN in awhile, but I used to be a big fan of theirs
I need you to start posting two videos a day so I can retire sooner!

what about Enbridge? (ENB)
👍
Useless.
Thoughts on PBA?
