      I feel like simplicity comes with maturity. The more you play and write, you'll realize that sometimes keeping things simple is much better and you can get your musical ideas across clearer and in a more easily consumable way if that makes sense.

      It's not the chord progressions, melodies or rhythms that need to be complicated. The complexity comes from combining these different building blocks to convey certain emotions and ideas.

    keep playing each key over and over until you can hear what note will play before you press it, you will get to the point where you can hum a note and your finger will go to the correct key without you even thinking, the brain just does it. Then after that you do the same for each cord set until the same thing happens, and after that you will be able to play what ever you want.

  • @urphakeandgey6308
    @urphakeandgey6308 Год назад +10

    For anyone that wants to understand it better, they're basically chord inversions.
    Technically, I think inversions are when you move the root, but I tend to think of it as moving any interval outside of the basic triad pattern. Don't just move thirds. You can move the root and fifth up and down octaves too.
    This is also how trance tends to get those "big" supersaw sounds. They spread out the notes far and it sounds "bigger," but also makes a better mix since supersaws have a lot of harmonics.

    It's not exclusive to techno, I've been using it in my trance tracks - it's really basic and would be nice to explain that the middle note change is actually switching the chord to Db Major which in this context is that magic/sad/nostalgic partner of F minor

      @setoburu Год назад

      Link? I want to listen to your trance tracks :)

    • @deanolium
      @deanolium Год назад

      It's basically just inversions, set up so only one note is changing. It works, but doesn't build any tension. Though you can view it as actually just doing a third interval and then having a melody line being played between those two notes.

    • @piotrbukowski9566
      @piotrbukowski9566 Год назад

      @@deanolium yes, it's actually F minor on its root note and Db major in 1st inversion, both in open voicings. Kinda nice pair of chords, because they are very close together + they work well over a "pedal note" which is a technique used for a few hundred years already (starting with old organ music)
