      The patcher god is present. Damn friend, if you want you can create a DAW in patcher lol. I love your videos Frank.

    Formula controller is the only thing that's holding me back. I use the envelope controller instead of it. With your knowledge and tutorials, I will get there for sure.

      Envelope Controller also works well for switches and even menus. But Formula Controller allows for more complexity!

    Hey, thanks for this tutorial :) Could you please tell me how to add more tabs in patcher? I am not able to see options for that.

      There's a plugin called Control Surface in the Controller section, just add that like you were adding any other plugin to the map

      @@nanospiraI Thank you so much :) One more thing I want to know about is how to rename the buttons on the control surface and whether we can add an image inside the control surface, kindly help me with this. Thank you!

    Love your channel! Have to rewatch all of the videos a lot bc wow it's a lot!!!
    Was wondering if there was a simple way to do the following in Patcher:
    I want to use 1 knob to control many frequencies in PEQ2 at once... I want to use the Patcher Knob as a "cutoff" or center frequency and then have the other frequencies adjust around this, preserving the ratio (since octaves are easy with 2x or 1/2x freq). Not sure if it fully makes sense...
    Initially, I just wanted to shift all of my EQ values by the same offset (like how in Pro Q 3 you can just select all the bands and shift them over), and I wasn't sure how to accomplish that in the EQ itself without using patcher. But now that I am in Patcher (still don't understand how to do that one lol), I was wondering for example if I make custom EQ Shape (such as combining peaking and shelving filters or something to create a custom band pass), and now I just want one Patcher knob that will shift the whole shape as one EQ curve around that central "cutoff" Patcher Knob.
    I'm sure it's possible from watching your videos and the Frank Pole Discord, but... Brain no work that way🤷🤷‍♂🤷‍♀
    I'm better at creating the filter shapes and ideas than implementing them into useful patchers, but I'm trying to learn 🤣😭🤣🤣😭

    Ah, noin yleisesti ottaenkin kaikki FL Studio tutoriaalit, tipsit ja triksit on erittäin tervetulleita. Näitä ehdottomasti lisää!

      Joo, mulla on jo pitkä lista mahdollisista tutoriaalien aiheista :D Ja saa laittaa myös ehdotuksia, jos tulee jotain mieleen!

    Happy New Year! Thanks for effort and insights. While checking out Patcher earlier and looking at a Wiselab MIDIVORE map (replace me it says in map) I was wondering... What is the easiest way to replace an existing generator in Patcher? (While keeping all routing in tact)

    • @nanospiraI
      @nanospiraI  2 года назад +1

      Thanks, happy new year to you too :) There isn't reaIly a quick way, an option for replacing would cause problems because most connections are unique to that plugin (parameter connections for example). I guess an option to replace, that would preserve the main audio inputs and outputs could be implemented. Personally I'd like some dragging and auto connecting onto a path. But yeah nothing like that currently exists in Patcher to my knowledge.

      @@nanospiraI Oh thank you so much for your answer and quick replay.
      Referring to my Patcher WiseLabs example MIDIVORE in FL it is (just)
      midi in and audio out replacing but even when zooming out
      and adjusting screen it is still very tedious to change a generator
      This can be improved I would think. Maybe a "Patcher in map replace tool" or some right click
      "replace with" option would be nice and speed up things.

      not sure if this is what you're asking but the image line forums have some topics on how to control patcher using an arduino setup and midi, i have a nano lying around so maybe it's my next project to learn to use that :D

    Someone explain to me what is even the point of formula controller? Why does it exist what does it do that other controllers can't?

    • @nanospiraI
      @nanospiraI  2 года назад +1

      You could write a formula that outputs random values (there's a random value function available in it) and then connect that say into a synthesizer to create randomization. You could also do traditional LFO shapes like a sine or a square, but incorporate variables (the formula controller has 3 variables) into the equations that you can then adjust or automate, so you'll have control of every aspect of the LFO function, and can change it in real time in ways that would be awkward to achieve with drawing automation by hand, or using other plugins. You could for example phase modulate the LFO function with another function, not something you can have control over with any other plugin. You can also use it to perform logical operations, saying things like "if the song position in quarter beats is an odd value, do x. If not, do y". And my favorite thing is that you can use it to "program" Patcher to do really interesting things, like have plugin like features on the surface, that you couldn't achieve any other way in FL, except actually creating your own separate plugin.
