      His playing here is absolutely amazing, it's my favorite, and I've been listening to it for over 40 years.
      I once tried to copy his solo parts, but I couldn't find his unique fast-phrase fingering. But I'll try again.

    This was the peak of the Crusaders live shows when Billy Rogers was playing guitar in the band, if I'm correct this sounds like the gig at Hammersmith Odeon in London that year I was nineteen years old and in the audience and will remember this as long as I live.

    Billy Rogers was the best jazz guitar player there ever was, none better.

      Larry Carlton is a great guitar player as well.

      I beg to differ! Larry Carlton is the TRUTH!!

      @@Basskat100 Technically good but he doesn't have the heart and soul that Billy Rogers has. Billy's use of scales to that really revolutionized the way that modern jazz guitar is played. You won't find anyone who played way outside the realms of jazz guitar like he did before Billy did. Billy's style has been copied ever since and it has changed the foundations of what jazz guitar has became.

      @@mikebriggs3284 Not even close to Billy Rogers. Larry is technical but no feeling or soul and Billy plays way beyond what Larry was doing with his technique.. And I'm not sure why anyone would respond to me just to argue.

    • @Basskat100
      @Basskat100 Год назад

      @@karensullivan8458 I don't agree. Larry is not only technical, but plays with a combination of technical, Blues licks rock licks, and Bebop jazz licks simultaneously. And is a great blues player. When Larry plays blues style guitar solos, there's nothing but soul, in his solo playing. Really Rodgers is a great player too. You said not even close. Your opinion is not even close.
