The Waltz is the 3rd track of the EP "Cýra". The climax of the EP, this is the song Cýra shares her thoughts on how it's like to be in love with the wrong person. Like a waltz in the eye of a hurricane that never ends, she feels entrapped in this storm, an abusive love with no escape. Listen to track number 4 "Breathe", the after storm.
I wrote The Waltz initially as "End Of The Waltz", my debut single that ends with a happy ending. A force or someone has helped the main character stop spinning in this dance. In this new version, I only wanted to capture her thoughts and feelings of this relationship being out of control. I wrote The Waltz because after experiencing this myself, I know many other people experience it too. I hear so many stories of people being taken advantage of and hurt by their supposed loved ones, it breaks my heart. Violence is many times labeled as "love", "voice of reason", or some other excuse they come up with. I hope those of you that resonate with this song can find the courage and support to seek help and speak up.
