This game takes place supposely one year after the events of Macross Frontier (tv).

Anyone able to get a playthrough series of this game uploaded? Let's Plays can be tolerated, but I'd prefer standard vids without commentary from the one playing. (Translating the Subtitles to English would be preferable, but is not required)

Yeah. Blame Harmony Gold for that shit. Basically, if any game even has the word Macross mentioned in the game it won't see the light of day over here. sad.
+GGTM LP's only 2 of them are under your direct control and actually damage the final boss though. Still, the ability to pull off 2 SP attacks at 1 SP Gauge is overpowered. Artdink's Macross games aren't punishing, but they are fun. Though there are moments in being one-shotted by random grunts if you play Ultimate though.
+TheRibbonRed Alright, thanks for clarification. Still, not even firing giant lasers/having indestructible missiles/other very annoying stuff as the freaking final boss is a bad thing. Even Glavil (a recurring miniboss in the Frontier Trilogy) has a laser attack.
it doesn't really help that you get access to all of the songs that buff you, and debuff + damage the boss lol, and YF-30 vomits out missiles like no tomorrow too

With an asshat of a main character who acts like a dick to even his friends, experiences zero character development, completely derails every scene he appears in, constantly demands you LISTEN TO HIS SONG!!!!!! (when Sheryl did that bit SO much better), and grates on the viewer every second he's onscreen? But sure, _Frontier_ is the low point of the series. Mm-hmm...

I haven't seen the Frontier Series so I can't say, but the Movies were god damn phenominal.
The series is different, but good too. Some things the movies do better, but some things were better in the series.

theres no challenge at all, this boss is just big.
This is supported by the fact that there are 14 wingmates on your side and the fact there are healing items in Macross 30, unlike other games IIRC.
