- Acoustic / Electric Violin cover of the guitar solo from December Flower by In Flames. Recorded using an AKG C414 and Neumann U87. The audio tracks were run through a guitar amp and also played live recorded with GoPro. Subscribe to my channel to stay tuned for more violin videos!

I belive that the solo was played by a guest guitarist, but honestly, Jesper Strömblad used to play the violin when he was younger, so there might be something here.
Man whenever a violinist covers a solo from a metal band, it seems so naturally elegant its kind of strange... plus you can just hear it clear as day how that music genre (orchestra) progressed and evolved to classic rock then eventually heavy metal and death metal.

I was thinking it's as old as Black Sabbath was to me back when I was a kid, most people (even the metalheads) wouldn't really know this band anymore, at least not their older albums. And bam, I run into a random video from "just" 4 years ago.
I've always imagined what this solo would sound like with strings. Wish granted. This is badass.

RIP Fredrik Johansson , guitarist from Dark Tranquillity often confused with the guitarist of the exact same name responsible for this beautiful solo on December Flower (who is still alive...). Fredrik of DT passed away last month on the 25th in battle with cancer. He contributed guitar to Dark Tranquillitys best albums including "The Gallery" one of my favorite albums of all time. Fond memories of rocking that album in my car with my 7 year old daughter Luna will be with me till I die. She was kidnapped August of last year. Daddy loves you Luna wherever you are...
