I played Helen Keller in 1992 when I was 16 years old. I did more than just sniffle when I played Helen Keller I screamed and I was an instant success. I was always in the a b honor roll when I was in high school. I am legally blind and I can understand how it feels to be taught the hard way
Sorry we couldn't afford a better camera. But MAN is it good to be able to watch this from an audience perspective rather then be stuck with the audio-only version backstage. Thanks again to everyone involved for a great performance. -Griffin
Im auditioning to be in this play as annie sullivan in 2 weeks i will take any part but hope to get annie. Im so excited because this is the first time our school is doing a fall play since we usually just do musicals.
I dindt get the part of annie today. I didnt even get a main part.😢😢😢 i gotnthe part of one of the blind girls at the school while my tin sister got the part of viney. I memorized the monologue pretty much perfectly and spoke it with emotion. The teacher didnt even give me the chance to do the dialogue part l. Im really sad but she i going to tell me what i did wrong tomorrow im really confused.
it's me corrine Sometimes the people doing the casting have extra criteria they want to see in an audition, even if the audition itself is good. A certain way of speaking, an ability to work well with the actors in the roles you'll be interacting with. Sometimes you being rejected won't make sense, and that happens to every actor. It's okay to be sad, but the importaint part is to remember to do your best, and not be discouraged from trying again later. Here's hoping your play is great!
My drama teacher said that there are probably some more extra like parts and that i have a chance for them. Really the main thing is thst even though she knew who she wanted i would have wished she had just let me do one of the dialogues so it felt less biased.
The best actresses are the actress who play Ann sullivan and Helen Keller; The parents especially Captain Keller aren't convincing sorry. He is not tough enough, a bit young for the role. A quite good drama.
Hi! That's me. Captain Keller that is. Yeah, looking back at that it's really not my best work. I'd recommend the just uploaded Our Town for that. I'll readily admit I was too much of a softie to make an angry role work, and I do have kind of a boyish complexion. I learned a lot from this play though, and I do hope that my performance didn't drag down the rest of the production. Glad you enjoyed it!
Pretty sure we can all agree the worst was the one who played Martha😂Which btw I know that girl personally, and she doesn’t feel offended me calling her out on it.
Everyone has their own opinions, but to be fair this is a high school play. Not a professional one. I wouldn’t necessarily call one of the tallest juniors (at the time this was performed he was one, now he’s a senior and graduating) with a pretty deep voice too young for a father role.
I agree, the dad is more of a stern gruff and doesn't have a good relationship with either kids. His emotional range is the size of a ladybug. But he made him more emotional than necessary. I'm auditioning to do this play next year.
