Besiege update looks pretty interesting, might need to try a video on that soon. The bounce pads in particular looked fun to try to make an engine with, any thoughts on what I should try to power with that?
To power a semi automatic base that could drive around and maybe automatically target and shoot enemies using maybe the bounce pads as launchers as well as using the pads to power the build to move. This sounds kind of stupid in retrospect😂😂😂
I love that there's trains in Besiege now, and i just have a few tips for you if you come back to this idea. Try linking the four small wheels at the front (the pilot wheels) to a subframe that has some lateral movement along the tracks, and so that they can start to turn before the main driving wheels start to turn. Also, try removing the thin, biggest wheel in the center of the driving trio. That's your equivalent of a flange, and on lots of model trains and some real ones the center drive wheels would be "blind" (no flange) so that they still provide adhesion to the rail on the straights, but on turns they just float. Kind of like semi truck trailers. One last thing, steam locomotive pistons are offset by 90° instead of 180°. That way no matter how you stop you wouldn't end up with one piston at full extention and one at full retraction, thus with no way to inject steam into the other side of the cylinders and move the pistons. Until next time.
I got this game a few weeks ago and I've literally played it every day since than. I used to watch your videos on it a few years back but never actually got it until recently. Thanks for recommending it, in a way.
Trains are pretty dang satisfying. If you're looking for ideas, maybe trying the Spider Mech design from the movie 'Wild Wild West' could be a bit of fun. Eight legs, opposing movements, hook it up to a weird engine... you know classic Reid approach.
I'd love to make a massive steam engine train in trailmakers, but the complexity limit, plus the physics engine probly would kill me half to quarter way through, without the ascetic too.
@@ReidCaptain yeah thats fair ngl also I love how some of the logic here is "this is one of the most efficient items due to these laws of physics" then it goes to "Yeah I added it cuz I think it looks cool"

A walking machine
You can use bounce pads for a trampoline though. Or make a wrecking ball You can make it bounce so it can destroy a village.
Why is the bitrate so low?

what they said
or a jumper
or both
What's funny is that the physics engine of the game pushed you into engineering designs used on real trains, including the tapered wheels.
It is cool
And the instant switch from vertical power to horizontal, much like the real world development of the steam powered locomotives, iirc
Mankind has optimized trains
Low taper wheels
5:02 that cone design was a big discussion in my physics class last month
Steampunk fits this game very nicely

Trains in Besiege, with 40k jokes? We have achieved peak tism.

12:41 When I heard that, I looked at the comments, looking for WarHammer 40k comments. I was not disappointed lol

Finally, Reid has made Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.
Love that movie
The red onez go fasta!
I love these type of videos, you always comes up with creative ways of doing what you want
The Captain is back in Besiege
this is literally the history of steam engines all over again lmao
loved this vid, hope u do more trens in the futur
Cool vid! I think you should attempt making an autogyro(upwards power comes from an unpowered propeller(it could be powered on takeoff))
"some my might call this inefficiency, but I'm gonna call it a feature" -Reid Captain, 2024
everyone know that red paint makes a train go faster
Another great vid
Brilliant. I would love to see a car with folding wings so it can drive or fly which ever is required.
Stopped watching you for a while, i realized how much i missed yeh after watching this
12:40 of course!
i'd love to see you try this again with mechanical valvegear like a real steam locomotive!
Bro is the kinda guy to make a supercomputer outa toothpicks.
He actually did it!
Finnaly first time getting a video under a hour
Love tje looke of that train, so simple yet so cool
I loved this video! I love trains.
YESSS another Reid upload
It’s always a good day/night when RiedCapn uploads
Yooo

Hey Reid! I would love to see more dream car builder crazy contraptions and cars, if possible please make a video on this great game again
FINNALY BESIEGE AGAIN!!!
This is going to be interesting
Good video
Choo choo
Exactly what im sayin
You should try to make a fragmentation grenade!
I wonder if you could have used drills instead of panels for the wheel cones.

Hello
Use a mod for complexity limit
Steam engines are underrated
Now try making a Shay.
Choo choo amirite?
I like trains.
How do you get the Surface Pieces
The really low bitrate makes it difficult to watch

so cool
How have you made a hypersonic bomb, a nuke, a-10 warthog but not a train

CHOO CHOO!!
now make a a computer inbesiege
I have tried and decided it was going to make for an extremely boring video the way I went about it, might try it again at some point

what about a electric powered train?
