For those that watched the series Handmaid's Tale, this is what happened in regards to a government hostile takeover from the inside. They ended up restructuring the American government (aka destroying democracy) and it was built on conservative policies and white patriarchal Christianity views.
This is also similar to what Boris Yeltsin did to Russia's government in the 90s when he faced some opposition as he attempted to go all out in moving Russia to a free market system after the collapse of the Soviet Union. He basically dismantled any checks and balances, replaced his opposition with those who shared a similar ideology, and made all branches of government inferior to the president, effectively turning the position into a modern czar. Today, the world has to deal with Vladimir Putin, a man who publicly embarrasses those in his administration, assassinates his political enemies, can start wars on a whim, has access to tons of nuclear weapons, and can never lose an election.
I haven't watched the Handmaid's Tale, but even my vague familiarity with the series was enough for me to immediately draw the comparison after I learned about Project 2025. Though people have been drawing that comparison for some years now, and they were often accused of strawmanning, "hysterics" etc. It now seems as though they were ahead of the curve.
Although there is no secret that they plan on destroying the fabric that America is built on they plan on doing it by systematically breaking down the system. They are going to destroy government institutions and break down the checks and balances that hold government together. But, they plan on doing it systematically through, mostly, legal means. From an outsiders perspective, the left seems to want America to be progressive and contemporary whereas the Right simply want to maintain their position as the Master Capitalists who make the rules and all the money! What is inexplicable to me is the number of Americans under the age of sixty, well-educated and with an understanding of the forces that have shaped the country, who have devised Project 2025, and the millions more who subscribe to it. In answer to "whom " the Heritage Foundation is targeting with their Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation is targeting our democratic society for their own financial gain. The Heritage Foundation was founded on February 16, 1973 by Paul Weyrich, Edwin Feuler, and Joseph Coors in part, as a response to fellow reuplican President Richard Nixons plan to make healthcare more easily available to all americans. Instead of socialism for our taxpayers, these millionnaires wanted socialism (subsidies) for ther millionnaires. So, they set out with forming the foundation that was focused on creating a fascist state that they could control to their own benefit. Since, it would be difficult to convince the average person to give up his or her rights, the Heritage Foundation had to come up with a way to gain support. By appealing to the Christian with a no-abortion mandate, Heritage knew that they could fool these americans into throwing away their rights and unwittingly allow our great nation to become a fascist state.

For those that watched the series Handmaid's Tale, this is what happened in regards to a government hostile takeover from the inside. They ended up restructuring the American government (aka destroying democracy) and it was built on conservative policies and white patriarchal Christianity views.
We are apparently right there, on the edge..
This is also similar to what Boris Yeltsin did to Russia's government in the 90s when he faced some opposition as he attempted to go all out in moving Russia to a free market system after the collapse of the Soviet Union. He basically dismantled any checks and balances, replaced his opposition with those who shared a similar ideology, and made all branches of government inferior to the president, effectively turning the position into a modern czar.
Today, the world has to deal with Vladimir Putin, a man who publicly embarrasses those in his administration, assassinates his political enemies, can start wars on a whim, has access to tons of nuclear weapons, and can never lose an election.
I haven't watched the Handmaid's Tale, but even my vague familiarity with the series was enough for me to immediately draw the comparison after I learned about Project 2025. Though people have been drawing that comparison for some years now, and they were often accused of strawmanning, "hysterics" etc. It now seems as though they were ahead of the curve.

Since, it would be difficult to convince the average person to give up his or her rights, the Heritage Foundation had to come up with a way to gain support. By appealing to the Christian with a no-abortion mandate, Heritage knew that they could fool these americans into throwing away their rights and unwittingly allow our great nation to become a fascist state.
