Same here lol, dealing with this exact stuff day in day out makes me forget how hard it is for non-IT people, also Tom, you may want to consider an upgrade to WiFi 6 as the speed should increase by quite alot - Would be fairly simple to do considering you have all of the ethernet runs and switches in place

I won't lie, as someone who works in IT and Networking, I was talking to my TV saying to check if it's a POE port. I get it's not as easy for other people but to me it's second nature. Also I would happily sort out all of them cables in the cab, it really bugs my OCD when I see it haha.
They say with brand new houses things are gonna go when you live in them for five years. The fact you have lived in there for almost 10 and just now having problems is amazing. Me and my family moved into the house we are in now. and 7 -8 years later my shower handle broke completely off. Had to call someone to fix it. Good luck on the repairs man.

Hey Tom, just to explain the usb cable thing real quick. The cable you ordered is $30 because its a DATA cable. The iphone cable is likely a cheap POWER only cable which doesnt have the internal connections that the microphone device needs. Most likely thats why it didnt work, you dont even want to know the mess new USB is. Anyway I love the content as always. You make my work day bearable good sir! Cheers from California

Good troubleshooting Tom and completely correct, the WAP requires power over ethernet since it doesn't use a power cable. I'm not sure how sophisticated your network is but another reason for it not working could have been incorrect VLAN, not being in your wifi one - being able to talk to the wifi management. The reason for it being slow might because the port isn't set to the correct speed/capable or your cable being ancient.
