    Kobe is such a great defensive player I mean at this age and you still guarding these young talented point guards and forcing them to pass the ball...and notice that they had to set a pick almost everytime Kyrie had the ball..and I been noticing that for every team Kobe plays against they always set a pick to free their point guards

    • @BluesGetOrigin
      @BluesGetOrigin 8 лет назад +2

      This is a 20-21 year old Kyrie. Imagine if this was a prime Kyrie. Oh wait thats right even now, Kyrie still hasn't hit his prime.
      Your argument is invalid.

    • @dl6kid
      @dl6kid 8 лет назад +6

      John Smith that's your opinion sir. I agree Kyrie hasn't hit his prime but idc prime Kobe would stomp him.

    • @BluesGetOrigin
      @BluesGetOrigin 8 лет назад +2

      Superman Dat How can you say prime Kobe would stomp him when we've yet to see a prime Kyrie? For all we know Uncle Drew could go down as one of the best PG's in history.
      Lets be honest now, in the first few years of Kobe's career, how many thought he was gonna be an all-time great? Comparing Kyrie & Kobe first few years in the league, Kyrie is quite reasonably ahead of him. Just wait till he hits his prime, then we can talk.

    • @dl6kid
      @dl6kid 8 лет назад +5

      John Smith okay bro I see your point so JUDGING by what you said, it seems like you did not watch basketball in the early 2000's or late 90's. If I'm wrong, correct me on it. But I've watched bball since 2000 glued to the screen. People have compared a young Kobe to Jordan and the reason why people are hushed up about Kobe's first few years is because he had to get benched his first two seasons. He HAD to take a back seat to Shaq. Watch any documentary on Kobe. People say they witnessed him beating veterans in one on one matches during practices during his rookie years. Go back and watch the Lakers threepeat, a young Kobe took over when Shaq fouled out and was of no use. and NO he did not ride shaq into the finals. they both put in effort because the western conferences were even harder competition back then. By the time Kobe reached Kyrie's current age, he was a three time champion. I'm not taking anything away from Kyrie, he's an amazing PG will go down in history as one of the greatest probably. But by the time Kobe was Kryie's age, he was the best player in the NBA. Not knocking on Kyrie, but hes no where close to that right now. He has much to prove as a player and as a PG, he's top 5 for sure. Chris Paul in my opinion is the greatest PG in the game today. But back to my point, if a 24yo Kobe were to play against a 24yo Kyrie, Kobe would TOAST him offensively and defensively. no question. people in the league feared him like people feared jordan in the 90s. AND yes we can still discuss when Kyrie enters his prime and compare him to a prime Kobe. because in my opinion Kobe reached the pinnacle of his abilities from years 2004-2008 (age of 26-30).

    • @BluesGetOrigin
      @BluesGetOrigin 8 лет назад

      Superman Dat He was 3x champion but not from his own accord am I right? Shaq carried him.
      2000 Finals:
      Shaq: 38 PPG, 17 RPG, 2.5 APG, 2.7 BPG, 61% FG
      Kobe: 16 PPG, 5 RPG, 4 APG, 1.4 BPG, 36% FG%
      2001 NBA Finals
      Shaq: 33 PPG, 16 RPG, 5 APG, 3.5 BPG, 57% FG
      Kobe: 24 PPG, 8 RPG, 6 APG, 1.4 BPG, 41% FG
      2002 NBA Finals
      Shaq: 37 PPG, 12.25 RPG, 4 APG, 2.75 BPG, 60% FG
      Kobe: 26 PPG, 5.75 RPG, 5 APG, .75 BPG, 51% FG
      OVERALL AVERAGE STATS:
      Shaq=36 PPG, 15.4 RPG, 3.7 APG, 3 BPG, 60% FG,
      Kobe=20 PPG, 6 RPG, 4.6 APG, 1 BPG, 42% FG
      And regarding that foul out from Shaq you do know it happened in OT with 2 minutes left right? Not hating on what Kobe did but don't make it look like Shaq fouled out in the 3rd quarter or something, it was literally 2 minutes without him.
      Dude Kyrie is only 24. His prime will be in 2-3 years time.

    Kyrie is one of the beast pg in the league top 15 in history. He can out score any pg and be efficient, consistence every night when healthy. There are only 2 players can slow him down or lockup his offense is Kobe and Drose when everyone on a healthy table. Kyrie is an all around pg. It's required a few ability talents in a player to be able to guard Kyrie. Even the MVP Curry can't guard Kyrie, I can tell you that much.

    Not sure about Artest, or World Peace at that time, but I think Bryant was their best perimeter defender at 2013, which means problems, because it shouldn't be a 34 year old guy your best perimeter defender, that's why Lakers had defensive problems the whole season. The Lakers teams from 2009 and 2010, even 2011 were way better build compared, and with more depth when compared with that 2013 Lakers team. Still way more defense played in this clip than this year all star winner, winner, chicken dinner game.

    I see a lot of typical Kobe fans in the comments. Kobe got burned on every single play in this video. He had 1 decent encounter when he poked the ball away, but Kyrie recovered it anyways. Literally every single other play in this entire video was either Kyrie hitting wide open teammates, Kyrie coming off picks and going wherever he wanted, or Kyrie completely blowing past Kobe. Are you people blind? This is why Kobe's defensive rating is always so bad. He is so overrated, it's pathetic.

    • @Dawgthem
      @Dawgthem 9 лет назад

      You do realize how difficult it is to get around a scree , going around a screen dosent depend on how good Kyrie is it depends on the person setting the screen, like how effective they are sooooo with at said it shows how good kobe bryant is because unlike you I ball in real life and if I need a screen to get open or make something Happen it's because the person guarding me is too good

    • @NicolasAlcalde
      @NicolasAlcalde 9 лет назад +1

      Rashad Powell And does that somehow account for the fact that Kobe couldn't stay in front of him for a single play and Kobe got burned badly every single time Kyrie went in on an ISO? You are an idiot.

    Are you kidding? I've watched 5 min now, and whenever Kyrie actually tries to dribble past Kobe he does so without any problem what soever. The Lakers are pretty good at getting around the screens, but that has nothing to do with the one-on-one match? The misses you're actually are showing is Kyrie shooting uncontested shots, which he is then blowing. If you want to take about good defence in this game, look at Howard beasting and Nash deflecting Kyrie's passes.

    • @JR-xv6mv
      @JR-xv6mv 10 лет назад

      Wait, I'll give Kobe one 'thumb' up on a good double team. That was however blown when Kyrie got loose of it, adjusted his mask, got some speed going, and got tripped. Well done on the fouls Kobe.

XD and his accuracy was the best,la lakers won only because they have better teamwork(not the very best but very good teamwork)but kyrie team was an 1 man army,plus kyrie manage to get 50+ to laker 70+ despite bad teammate(to be honest)basketball is not played alone,it is by team

    5 baskets of kyrie, 4 screens ( the only way to score was using a teammate to pass bryant ) and only 1 lucky left handed play 1 on 1. He got shitted on by old kobe.

      Don't listen to him,luck don't come,u have to make ur own opportunities.luck?he made so many assist he did his job all the time and even have to cover his team performance.the last part where Kobe is talking to him was probably how great he his and his team bringing him down(to be honest that's what it looks like)

      That was because he was flailing around the zone for the ball. Kobe had to come off the screen. Rest of the whole video Kyrie was pathetic

    Mostly I noticed how bad the Cavs are at finishing at the net, Zellers retire because u suck man. Irving look to setup in this game, he finished 7/15, not bad should of jacked up a couple more shots though even with the Black Mamba on him.

    Even though Kyrie burned Kobe on almost every play all night, Kobe hounded him all game, he didn't lock him down but he made it extremely difficult for Kyrie to get comfortable.
    It was sad watching Kobe play defense like this after watching him lock down players like Mark Jackson, Jason Kidd, and Allen Iverson (even though nobody could lock down AI, Kobe did make it tough)
