Yeah...the melodies produced in these OPM songs are tops. These are the new gen artists but we Filipinos pay tribute to the past, original composers, producers and other musical arrangers and how they gave birth to OPM. So much Lovelove to Arthur Nery and Janine Teñoso; their blending is tops!
Yes, fyi, these new gen musical artists have been borne out of previous Pilipino artists--pioneer 'kundiman' singers or balladers--were influential in the organization of OPM. These two young artists are becoming the new generations to promote OPM.
If only you could explore more of the OPM sounds.. You'll be knocked off of your feet.. The music from the 70s up to present are just amazing. Filipinos are gifted with unique beautiful melodies and stunning vocals.

I was born in the Phil, now US based-grew up with Filipino love songs (kundiman). You’re reactions to young Filipino artists is bridging the gap of my knowledge on old(er) OPM and the current ones. Thanks! And yes, despite strong western influences (300 yrs. under Spain & 50 yrs under US) something, something, (emotionality?) still flavors the current OPM.

I am a Filipino living in the states and I rarely listen to Tagalog songs because I find it difficult to connect with typical Filipino love songs-nor with belty kind songs. Arthur Nery’s songs, I find, is completely different from any Filipino songs I’ve heard before. His songs sound very refreshing to me. I am very glad these two artists are bringing something new to the Filipino music scene.

Justin, justin...i`ve been watching your page for sometime now and I am so amused that you find the singing and composing talents of Filipinos excellent. I too am a Filipino but I really can`t sing to save my bum, however I use do classical ballet, jazz and disco before my knee injury. Three of my brothers though can carry tunes quite well two of whom are more in tenor range. Anyway, its your reactions that made me subscribe as I find them utterly precious.

there is so much amazing singing talent in The Philippines that you have probably never heard of. Mori is amazing ( morissette amon), Katrina verlarde, Esay Kirstin ( new , young up and coming artist) or my personal favourite ....4th Impact . They are 4 sisters with amazing harmonies . they have many amazing and many covers and a few original songs here on you tube. they auditioned for X Factor uk 2015 and the video of that audition has more than 186 million views on you tube. They are currently working an album of original songs which will hopefully be released soon.
