Pelikula is one of the best duets out there. Arthur has a cult following here in the Philippines. His fans are devoted but not vocal. I have been his fan longer than I have been a fan of SB19. Arthur's style and his voice is something you would never get tired of whereas SB19 offers more variety. You are right about the amount of talent here. It is sad that a lot of them don't get the break they deserve because there's still a lot of people out there who put visuals/looks over talent. SB19 to this day, despite their glow up still get bashers on the way they look. It's frustrating really.
I’m an avid fan of both Arthur and SB19. They are absolutely very talented Filipino Singers!

Here in Philippines collaboration of artists are the results of mutal respect and admiration of one another's talent hence they tend to work in person to experience each others artistry. So to some it up collaboration of artists here are not manufactured not forced like in West. Thank you for always supporting OPM.

Hahahaha. Kidding aside, Arthur’s style of singing really makes his listeners feel that way - fall for him. That huskiness, warmth, that “sexy” texture, just makes you forgive him whatever he has done. Hahaha.

Filipino singers do not only bring good voices with them. They are expressive and passionate. And there’s the song writing.

Haplos (caress) is what his voice feels like to me. I love his phrasing and how calmy he sings while making notes dance out from that mouth of his. He sings knowing he can depend on his voice, so quietly confident. Loved this set. Thank you, Hurraira.
Have not heard/read that word in a while. Totally agree, his voice does feel like (a) haplos.
the Binhi is all about the protagonist is struggling with the loss of his partner's love and doesn't want to force his feelings on her. He just wants to hold her hand and be able to comfort her heart when she's alone. Even if he tries to bring back the past, they may still be gone. He begs her to come back and let him hold her and play with her lips, as he misses her.
He has a friend Adie almost same style but different. He did Wish Bus too. Singing Paraluman and Mahika(duet). These kind of music are my chill sounds. So peasant to the ear. Most reactors would always be amazed by how they could just sit there and sing so casually just like jamming in some corner...we do have a lot of good singers and opm songs. It's good to know thst it is reaching other audiences around the world and appreciating our local talents.

I'm growing a new fondness for the Filipino language listening to Pelikula. The stringing of words together here makes me think of the word "malambing", translated as affectionate if used as an adjective for a person, but to describe sound could mean kittenish if that's even a proper word. 😅

Here this is somehow normal scene. Friends jamming to a song in a karaoke or if someone has a guitar its like this.
I think that's the edge of OPM(original pilipino music)

Bugoy’s life story is so very endearing and it shows in his voice. Extremely humble and still remains very modest inspite of his success. Bugoy’s pet growing up was a carabao because he worked the planting fields as a very young farmer!

Hi Hurraira, I'm so happy that you have discovered a gem of music in the Philippines. Wait until you discover the current bands. We grew up with 90's and early 2000's bands, basically we grew up to different genres and voices locally.
OMG you’ve discovered Arthur. He is one of my favorite singers. His voice quality is insane! And he writes his own songs too. The Philippines has been gifted with so many great singers but the sad truth is most Filipinos are more into KPOP. 😢

I discovered Arthur thru a video that appeared on my timeline, singing "Kahit Kailan" (one of the most loved OPMs by South Border) as a masked singer, was blown away by the vocals - then discovered he also has a version of "Rainbow" (also by South B, also covered by Michael/Ryssi which u already reacted to). Got hooked and listened to his other songs, and from there discovered other artists. This was only 2 mos ago. Am reliving the discovery thru your rvs. ty!

Love arthur's soothing and skillfull vocal techniques, but i cannot drop bugoy's raspy voice with effortless and "tastefully placed?" riffs and runs😅. Both have different tones and techniques but both are amazing singers.

Perhaps because you may have gotten stuck on SB19 which is understandable because ATIN is so active in social media and has been incessantly plugging SB19 and the individual members HOWEVER, they(PPop groups) are a minute portion of the Filipino music scene. Name a genre and we have it! OMG, the lyricism in our folk music will give you the cultural milestones in our culture from pre-colonial to the present.Our classical music and dance histories dating back hundreds of years incorporating original forms with other cultures that influenced us along the way. Chinese, Indian, Asia Pacific, Spanish,American and everything else in between. Unfortunately, our own writings eventually was erased by the Spanish but a move to re-introduce may be on the way but it will definitely take generations to take root just as it abolishing it!
Well, Hurraira, I heard that Bugoy is working on his own original songs. So maybe wait a bit before you dethrone him.😉
