I think it makes sense... It's a metaphor. Cyberland is this community free of the arts. They aren't allowed to create. The only want to get out of it is to take a "Leap of Faith" and try and beat your oppressors.
I have yet to see Rent, so this is really confusing (yet hilarious)... ...This must be what my friends feel like every time I open my mouth. Fascinating.
It's a tongue in cheek performance about losing the vacant lot used for performance. Benny is going to raze the block and put in condos. The performance is a protest in the change in this patch of "Bohemia". She's making a metaphor about being evicted "the fork and spoon" and blames Benny, who used to live in "Bohemia" with the gang, till he met and married the daughter of the developer , and turned on both the neighborhood "as it is" and the group. This is the set up to La Vie Boheme
Its like im being tied to the hood of a yellow rental truck being packed in with fertilizer and fuel oil pushed off a cliff by a suicidal mickey mouse lol :D
nice job i need the lyrics along with the song to practice with, with my cast mate sooo thank you sooo muchhhh heheheh im such a rent head its nodt even funny sooo great job Ps.yayyyyyy suicidal mickey mouses yaaaa go themmm!!!!!!!!!!! and a little bull dog named BENNY hehehe and i love her terrible acsent and maybe its a female thing
It's not your traditional sense of a song, but in the context of the play it's supposed to be a bloated performance piece. The fun, I think, is in hearing some of the cheesiness of the lines, which I think is apparent ("Not in my backyard, go back to China!"). In any case, I disagreed with it being "the worst song". I enjoyed it.
It's a bit nonsensical, but it's a protest of something happening earlier in the movie. XD It still doesn't quite make sense and I've seen the movie quite a few times.
Corralion Benny their landlord is trying to keep homeless away from his building because he wants property value to go up. He wants to hide the real new York and replace it with a fake cookie cutter version of perfection, and all this happened because he got married to Muffy or whatever her name is. He used to be like Maureen,Mark and them, but he abandoned his principals to live in a fake society to please his father in law.
Bobby love you too much Emily you know that one on your birthday 26 too late for your birthday party for someone who was borderline and happy birthday song Emily and her boyfriend Bobby and his girlfriend and they have to be in town for the day after Valentine's day you were going back and forth between Emily marry me Bobby and his girlfriend and they look great and Emily will get better Tommy you can see what happens when you're ready and you can do this for me too Emily love your pictures and I'm glad you like the best way you can see the difference in this case and you can see the new hairdo and look out the pants charcoal button is the best way out there people pick up some tickets and asked the other side and the new York times and you have
I heard this song at work now I honestly believe it should be illegal and punishable by death to play this song over speakers in the open. In conclusion this is the worst song in the world While listening to this song I almost ended up killing myself. Just terrible and lazily written

I have yet to see Rent, so this is really confusing (yet hilarious)...
...This must be what my friends feel like every time I open my mouth.
Fascinating.
idina has such an incredible voice!!!!
It actually makes plenty of sense if you really analyze it, It's the story line of Rent retold as the old nursery rhyme, "Hey Diddle, Diddle"
Absolutely perfect for my showcase in my youth theatre thank you RENT for this song
this is definetly idina....
MOOOOOOO WITH ME!

Not the worst song, but this was definitely the most awkward scene in the movie to watch with my Mom xD We were both unsure how to react.
KyoSohma2211 Laugh your assets off, it breaks the awkward tension.
Priceless on soooo many levels!
People "Moo" with her at the show... hahaha

My reaction to this song every time I heard it has been "Wtf Maureen? ROFL" Now that I got to know the lyrics, it's somehow even funnier. hhahaha!
Hey, It was a protest! :D
@OneBroadwayDay lol i know but its hysterical isnt it???? :D
does anyone have a backing track for this song?
@KyoSohma2211 Really? This is more awkward then when Mimi is dancing at the Cat Scratch Club before singing Out Tonight.
@SifuSelean Yeah well, it's easy to explain that away as "She's a stripper". When Maureen was doing this, I had no explanations xD
who is maureen in this? it seems like idina in some parts, but not really. is it her??
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
MOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Does life need to be wholesome. No life at all isnt wholesome. So why should we fake it and why should our musicals fake it.
