Every character in Jujutsu Kaisen went through an Interesting creation process and Yuta Okkotsu is no different, as Gege Akutami first reveals that when creating Yuta he always knew that he wouldn’t actually be the main character, despite the amount of work that went into him to get his character ready for the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Manga. We also learn that during the process of sketching Yuta’s design for the first time, Gege wanted to give him a face that gives him a pretty aloof seeming vibe, and that Yuta’s hair was changed inbetween JJK 0 and the main series because his silhouette was starting to look too similar to other characters like Fushiguro and Itadori. As far as his personality Gege created a character that isn’t all that interested in many things like Food, and instead focuses on working and becoming the best sorcerer he can be to make up for the sins in his past. To this end he picks up the sword and learns various techniques from people like Maki, Gojo and Miguel, which all comprise the main influences of Yuta’s fighting style. Lastly we learn that Yuta only met Megumi after chapter 2 of the JJK 0 manga and didn’t earn his respect until the very end, AND that Yuta and Yuji are from the same hometown, but this is just so it’s easier for the author to think of information from their town since it’s near where Gege works.

Not gonna lie, when i watched jujutsi kaisen 0 (as someone who hadn't touched the sries in a year) i really thought that was the origin story of megumi because of how similar they looked. I'm really happy with the design change.
I'm pretty sure the opening sequence had the bully call him Okkotsu from the get go, so where was the confusion? Do you mean when you saw the promotional pictures? Bc the trailer also had his name all over.

Well me personally I've been waiting to see what's gonna happen when we get the FULL confrontation of Sukuna and Rika (the ancient cursed spirit rika) because even more than sukuna, Rika is by far the most mysterious special grade even the most mysterious character in the whole series, that's the only other curse or character aside gojo that's been described just like sukuna that has absolutely limitless and boundless cursed energy storage and power, the queen of curses... I think we're all gonna see here really soon that Rika is the one way more worth putting attention to than Yuta as amazing as he is definitely is.
Wondering if maybe Yuta will be killed and somehow he will release Rika before he dies taking her with him (since that's how it works apparently with vessels) and then we're gonna get a bigggggg time rampaging beast of the leash situation, and I think that's gonna be way more bad and intense than we think.
Even that whole nuke we saw her blast at Geto, probably wasn't even a drop in the ocean compared to what that curse can really unleash. Remember... she has boundless cursed energy. For all we know Rika could be Sukuna's worst nightmare.
