Looking for more romantic film recs! Drop your faves in the comments and I might just get to it (Notting Hill is already on the agenda) but for now Forrest Gump reaction on Friday and The Mist next week!
I believe that the book did make clear that the nursing home was indeed the same house Noah restored. If I remember correctly, I think he donated the house for that purpose so they could live there after Allie's diagnosis and his own heart issues, but perhaps someone else who read the book more recently will be able to clarify those details.
Other romance movies: Sleepless in Seattle, Overboard, Pretty Woman, Ever After, Pride and Prejudice (with Keira Knightly). They all combine comedic elements with some truly touching moments.
Great reaction. Really looking forward to more movies. Have you seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet? * or, for more Ryan Gosling and a more comedic approach, have you watched Crazy Stupid Love with him and Steve Carell?
Most definitely Pride and Prejudice. I can see you loving the cinematography, dialog, scenery, costumes, and most especially the music. You will LOVE the score. Give it a try!

Circle of Friends, early Minnie Driver, is an underrated 90s fav from your part of the world.

I've seen all of those more than once except for Pride and Prejudice which I've never watched. Excellent recommendations
