Nice video, I’m glad you concentrated on what I would describe as the more unspoilt area of the City - away from the skyscrapers! I’m sorry that you dropped the street names from this video - I feel that feature enhances your videos.

that is weird, I added the street names along with the route. I have to check if I made some mistake. But you can see the details in the description the video! Thanks for your comment ❤️

i spent a few years of my early working life, 1968/1972 working in the City, but not on the money side of things, i worked in the Tea Trade, just as a messenger boy, i knew the city like the back of my hand, back then you had many Tea and Coffee Brokers, in the area The London Tea Auction room was in a magnificent brick built building called, Plantation House, sadly long gone to make way for a giant lump of glass, this building was home to the commodities markets especially Tea, Coffee and Rubber, it was also home to the London Metal Exchange, to a young 15 year old boy straight out of School , the whole area was magical, and i must say, so were the girls, is it any wonder i love London.

I too remember the City at that time. I guess you feel like I do about the modern skyscrapers. You would remember the area around the Bank of England, and the charming Mappin and Webb store which occupied No.1 Poultry for so many years. When that building disappeared it marked the start of the decline in the City for me.
I guess we have to move with the times. Another thing I’ve noticed these days you very rarely see a male office worker carrying a briefcase, they all use these backpacks which were never originally designed to be used when wearing a suit!

I certainly do remember the the Bank area, i was always envious of the Bank of England messengers, and the uniforms they wore, the pink tailed coat was unbelievable.
