This video is motivating me to keep drawing being a self-taught. I started since January and I couldn't stop, despite the sudden changes in my schedule while I'm looking for a job and working on my blog at the same time.
o my goodness the progress is incredible. I love how consistent you use your shapes for each body part. Great sense of personal style that pops out in your newest. Im 28 and I also made some great progress of my own over the year and half I been drawing. Im terrified of pursuing an art career but its great to see how much progress you can make when you made that decision in your brain. That "this is who I will be for the rest of my life" decision. subbed to follow ur journey some more
Your learning process is so similar to mine i started doing the same technique to copy the same drawing like every line perfectly, I remember me thinking that when I grow up I want to see my drawings without being disappointed i a had serious perfectionism problem 😂
I'm just now getting into my anatomy and art studies to pursue an art career! Thank you for making this video. Your hard work really has paid off man. Keep it up! I'll be on the journey right along with ya!
Jesus! Talk about progress!! And I’m really appreciative of your tutorials! Now I’ve decided to take a hiatus from drawabox and start to do more advanced technical aspects. I’ve been using your tutorials and I gotta say it’s been extremely helpful! Hopefully I will reach your level of figure drawing in three years as well. This video really makes me inspired seeing how your drawings before weren’t great in the beginning but through dedication became better. This also helps me understand the progress I’m supposed to have an idea about. How many hours a day did it take to achieve what you did? And how did you make time?
Thank you! As for time, I'm not really sure how many hours exactly, but I think maybe 3 to 4 hours a day on average. We all have different schedules and responsibilities, I made choices to give myself as much free time to work on art as I could. With only a limited time in the day, you have to sacrifice something to make way for the things you want to pursue. My advice would be, take a look at your life right now, and ask yourself, how much time per day/week can I realistically devote to doing this? Only you can answer that.
@@HadesPsd i have okay acracy when drawing but my line work when copying is terrible, seems like its a personal problem at thsi point with how many people don't have that issue that i have lol
@@luluna5228 Line work is usually an afterthought, and doesn't really get trained much. One thing you could do is try using a simple brush with no opacity or size jitter every now and then. Those kind of brushes won't let you hide anything and will force you to make decisions.
Hi me again haha. Wow okay yeah this is super inspiring, you really progressed over these past 3 years. Even though ive only been at this efficiently for the first time (i used to be too stubbron to jump into everything hehe) this really gets me inspired as well. Ill be patient with myself no matter what bc thats something i struggle with but ill try and keep what youve told me in mind and never give up regardless.
@@HadesPsd Oh there was one more thing im sorry😭. When you focus on a subject youre improving, how long doyou usually focus on it? I feel thats structure is something i sometimes srrugfle with and i wanted an outside perspective on this.
@@starbutter2730 I work on one thing upto the point where I feel like i've plateaued, like i'm not really learning anything new anymore. You can then revisit that thing in the future, so no pressure to try and master anything right away.
@@HadesPsd Ah okay, Ill remember that when i jump back in tonight (been dealing with art block for a fee weeks lol). Also youre right Ill take my time with it anyway tysm sorry for bugging you with all these questions🤣
Really amazing and inspiring progress, will keep improving as much as I can, few hours a day. By the way, can you tell me what is the music that start in background at 15:46?
Wonderful progress. Wish I could really hear what you did, but sound came across so mumbley and the closed caption couldnt even pick it up. So Still dont know what resources you used to learn.
I wasn’t able to hear it properly but the march - august 2021 section of the video you said you were imitating some instragram user’s boxed figures and I’m wondering what their account name is. I’ve also had severe troubles with trying to make things 1:1 accurate to the photo (though I don’t go line by line like you did) with the pose, direct angle measurements, shapes etc. but even with this approach I’ve still been having troubles with proportions of the figure, I’m wondering if there’s anymore details on how you got past that sort of habit of being a “printer” in your own words (I’m hoping this part makes sense) I’ve been doing the 250 box challenge as well (haven’t even gotten to 100 yet) as just trying to draw boxes over objects so I want to try that stuff as well, cheers!
Have a look my recent video on mastering figure drawing, I mention books in there but I don't think theres any single book out there is going to take you to a high level. Its about taking bits and pieces from different places. I am currently in the process of creating a figure drawing course, that I will release slowly in parts.
There's a lot to worry about with ai in general, well, maybe not the ai itself, but the people who use it unethically. As far as image generators go, I'm not so worried, but I can see it disrupting the illustration/graphic design sector and people who do cheap commissions like on fiverr etc (I have friends who do this, so i'm a bit worried for them). Perhaps it will change pre-production in concept art, but I can't say anything for sure. I'm personally pursuing animation and storyboarding, and I don't see any disruptions happening there. Storyboarding is one of most difficult art career paths. You have to turn a script into a coherent visual story. And it's all rough and messy. I just can't see it happening unless we reach AGI but we'll have much more to worry about when and if that happens. I have seen ai animations but I don't see it coming close to 2d hand drawn animations without this whole data laundering fiasco happening again. Where those companies casually took 5 billion images and fed it to their machines. Pretty much all animation is properly copyrighted, so I can't imagine any company taking such a huge risk. But as a disclaimer, I have no idea how things will play out, but I love drawing, so I will continue doing that.
Sorry for not speaking clearly, but i think you mean Krenz Cushart? By year end, do you mean the drawings at the end? If so, yes they are from reference but I think modified the poses. Its been a while so i cant remember

Wow, I had a similar breakthrough with gesture drawings when I discovered drawing with force. Crazy how good that system is
It really is fantastic!
