The misleading thing about this video is how this product looks on somebody younger (you) than the way it looks on someone from mid 40's on. I was looking for the look you got, but the thing I liked best about this Dior powder foundation was getting my money back. This is so heavy and cakey on someone older. Using a brush would make the coverage lighter, but it wouldn't help the way it cakes into lines and pores and exaggerates them. And don't even Think about using the enclosed applicator. I'm no stranger to powder foundations. I wore the Armani Luminous (sadly discontinued) during the pandemic, when we were masking and the Original Bare Minerals, powder not pressed, and Laura Geller powder foundations provide lighter coverage that is flattering for all age groups. I hope you take my comments in the spirit in which they were made. You look beautiful in this. And I love your videos. But I'd hate to see others as disappointed as I was with this product. The best advice I have for someone who really wants to try this, is to buy it from a store that takes returns. Thanks for the review!💚

I am a powder foundation devotee and I have a few favorites in the mid-range category, but this is the first luxury brand powder foundation I'd be interested in trying, based on your wear test. I've always found that a foundation brush works best (I have a Smashbox brush to which I'm very attached), with either a light weight lotion-based primer and/or a reliable non-greasy sunscreen. But why am I telling you this -- you're the expert! Thanks for demonstrating this product for us.
I purchased 3N and wore it for some weeks for summer, It oxidises a bit, so if you have fair skin have that in mind, I end up buying 2N and it is my perfect match now, I use it also over a cc cream or some really thin and liquid foundations like chanel les beiges etc and looks amazing, super polished look that lasts all day, I am dry skin and this works really nice, also the powder products you apply on top look much much better over this product, I am in love

honestly i wasnt interested in this product initially. i havent used a powder foundation since high school/college. however, after seeing in on you, its gorgeous! looks very natural in the best way. love your content/review style. thanks for the video.

Hi Allison. I have very dry skin and just bought this foundation to use as a setting powder. EVERY powder I have ever used (I’ve tried all the best ones all over) makes my skin dry up and crinkle immediately. I’m hoping this will solve my problem since it is long lasting. @@AllisonChase Thank you very much , I did bought today the velvet powder foundation(1N). I did try it in store and it looks lovely & so smooth over the skin glow foundation (ON ). I never use powders because it’s not necessary also because of dry skin and lines . This one doesn’t do that and gives really a velvet smooth appearance.And this is a perfect match because the powder in 0N will be to light . It works very well on my normal to dry skin . Ofcourse good skincare under it is a must.
I’ve been holding off on this powder because I started using the Bare minerals Bare pro which really gives me the coverage I like…. However… I might just give in… thank you for this review and love the lipstick combination!

I have extreme powder of dior, I love it because it controls oil for hours and has medium to full coverage. I haven't tried velvet powder but I really don't know which one is better for combination to oily skin especially for summer. Does this velvet powder contains spf? Extreme powder has 20spf. I have the same blush with you. I love the lipstick you wear. Your skin looks so youth. I like the finish of this powder so much. Have you ever tried to set the dior concealer with this powder? Does it make more visible the lines under your eyes?

Hi - just came across your channel while looking for reviews on this powder. It looks gorgeous! I see that your videos are primarily on luxury brands, however, have you used the new Makeup Forever HD Skin Velvet Matte Powder Foundation by chance and if so, could it be a dupe for the Dior powder?
Dior backstage nas a nice retractable kabuki i use with the backstage powder for travel. I think there are a couple of powder retractable on the market. I'd keep the sponge for quick touchups though . The powder looks good. I need to finish one powder before i buy another though :)

J'utilise une teinte de cette fondation pour mon visage et une autre teinte de ton pêche de cette même fondation pour mon dessous d'oeil. Elle ne file pas dans les rides et c'est comme si tu ne portais rien du tout. Vraiment un bon produit à mon avis.

Powder gives a smooth matte finish but after a few hours it leaves a very dull finish and makes me a few shades darker than I actually am! Not a fan!!
