• Onam Sadya Recipes /ഓണ... - Onam Sadya Vibhavangal
- ഓണം സദ്യ വിഭവങ്ങൾ
• തേങ്ങ പാൽ എളുപ്പത്തിൽ ... - How to Make Coconut Milk Easily
Ingredients
Chakka Chula/Deseeded Jackfruit Flesh- 40 or 1 kg
Water -1/2 cup or 125 ml for cooking Chakka
Jaggery (Sharkkara) -300gms
Water -1 cup or 250ml for melting Jaggery
Thick Coconut milk(Onnam pal)-1 1/4 cup or 312 ml
Second Thick Coconut Milk(Randam Pal)-5 cup or 1 L 250 ml
Coconut pieces(nalikera kothu)-2tbsp
Cashew nuts(Andiparippu)-15
Kismiss(Unakka Munthiri) -20
Ghee(Neyyu)-1 tbsp
Dry ginger Powder/Chukku podi-1/4tsp
Roasted Cumin Powder (Jeerakam podi) -1/4tsp
Cardamom Powder(Elakka Podi) -1/4tsp (opt)
Salt- one pinch
Method
Deseed jackfruit and cut into small pieces
Cook by adding 1 /2 cup of water (in cooker) in medium flame
After cooling down make paste of this cooked jackfruit ..
Then heat 1 tbsp of ghee and add jackfruit paste and stir ..
Stir until for minimum 20 minutes in medium flame.
Now add melted jaggery..(Melt jaggery in 1 cup of water and strain )
Stir for 10 minutes then add thin coconut milk and stir well ..
Stir until the payasam get thick..
Beware of ur face and hands while stirring…
Add Dry ginger powder ,cumin powder and cardamom powder in the thick milk and mix well.
Add this thick coconut milk and lower the flame and cook for another 5 minutes and remove from the fire ..
Add roasted cashew nuts, kismiss and coconut pieces
Close for few minutes b4 serving .. After cooling if u find ur payasam to be very thick u can dilute it by adding coconut milk or hot water ,stir well and heat for few minutes ..
So Onam special yummy Chakka Pradhaman is ready to serve ..

Chakka and chakka payasam my fav! Varikka chakka especially! I can eat chakka all day long if I want 😂. The payasam looks amazing. Based on the taste test by Jaan...it turned out really good. It’s hard to get chakka here but will make sure it is on the menu for Onam.
