Thanks! I normally tighten the batter head just enough to get rid of the wrinkles, or a little more. The resonant head is considerably tighter for projection. If I can hear the tones it’s at least a third or fourth interval higher than the batter head. I usually have some kind of a pillow inside the bass drum to get a fat punchy sound through the microphone.

This one has a Coated Powerstroke 3 batter head. The resonant head is some Aquarian smooth white model with similar qualities - single ply and maybe a dampening ring inside. The Aquarian came with the kit, I normally use Remos. Or Tama logo heads on my Tamas.

Thanks! My guess is birch wood. They're "cross laminated Swedish Ply" "with a ‘vibrasonic’ coating" on the inside. Check out this link for more information:
