This song reminds me of my husband and me. In 2019 we lost some friends we thought would never leave our lives. We drew closer to God and each other in this time. Ever since we’ve been stronger together than ever. Through it all we’re better than we better used to be.

What I get from this video is that it's about the car in a way. It went through 3 different owners with lives of there own. Then of course you got brotherly love, puppy love/budding love, then the love/trials of marriage. Each of them went though struggle but "are better than they used to be." The song is great but I'm captivated by the video and the visuals that the song enhances. The video tells a story here and that's what the director was hoping someone if not all would see. Then the ending with Matt, his wife and Olive his daughter. He had another daughter in 2020 too. Cool video and song.

Amazing show when my wife and I saw you at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit (so glad to know of you there when you were coming up) Saw you again at DTE when you were touring for the christian rock band to raise money. Played "Ships in the night" at my wife and my wedding. Still love the sound and am looking forward to see you play soon. Planning to dance with my wife to this song "Better than I used to be" in front of our kids (2yr and 4yr) at dinner tomorrow night just to show them how great love can be in the presence of great music. I'm a huge fan seen him live for the first time in 2015 and I just got tickets to see him again in March. Just Kids and Young Love where my two favorite albums but so far the first couple songs that he's released on this upcoming album are amazing. Face To Face is my favorite but this is a good song. Love the beat the lyrics and the synth sounds.
