As a 2k kid this podcast is really important for me in knowing the roots of SA music/entertainment . Thanks Ntate David n your team for documenting this history for us.
Loved the interview 🙌 Watched the whole thing 3hrs flat. Thought I was going to watch half half but I couldn't stop. As a Xhosa speaker I thought I would struggle with the Tswana but nothing, I'm actually proud of myself. I didn't miss a beat. Dankie King for bringing this legend to the studio 🎙 great interview
I love the use of language in this interview. David transitions smoothly. I am a sucker for a person who knows how to communicate with people in the language they prefer.
Doc Shebeleza is a cool guy who likes soccer. I met him in the late 2000s at the 6 a side soccer matches in Randburg. The funny part is that me and my two other friends went there from Pretoria to watch games and meet up with my friends brother. While there busy watching we thought the teams that were playing were weak and we decided to form a team right then. We recruited 3 more guys from some of the teams that were knocked out. The games were knock-outs. You don't leave the pitch until you get knocked out. Our team knocked out five to six teams in a row. We were the best. The funny part is that we only noticed after all the games that one of the players we recruited was Doc Shebeleza😂😂😂. Because of the bond we created on the pitch he even decided to host us for a braai afterwards.
I love these legends as an all time kwaito follower, please interview Mdu masilela, Arthur mafokate, Mandla Spikiri, Thebe, Thembi Seete, Mzambiya. They will have so much to share to the upcoming and just to also archive the history content of our beautiful genre Kwaito. which became a culture
I love how he vibes people their flowers and that he is not downplaying Dipiano, I wish the younger generation would approach these guys for advice in terms of longevity 😊
God bless David Mashabela for this. Thanks for your efforts. I never thought Doc Shebeleza was such a great, wholesome guy. Loved his music growing up, he deserved his flowers. May his soul rest in peace. Thoroughly enjoyed the interview.
