Lots of famous people from Buxton. There's a solicitors in the town called Brooke-Taylors, which is Tim Brooke Taylor of The Goodies fame family business.
Well we didn’t know that!! Thanks for the heads up. We love all the old British Comedy so that would have been a brilliant fact to have. Thanks for watching 🍻
Ah what a great way to start the day over coffee and toast. Buxton. Really does look awesome. I’m sure I saw Ryan Gosling. 😅😅 The bath is a bit too expensive for me. Love the caves and who doesn’t enjoy a good knob gag 🤷🏻♂️. If you knew how many times I had forgotten batteries Will it is unbelievable. Fantastic tour as always. Top job. All the best. Watto & Kim. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️🍻
Ah thanks guys. It was such a lovely day out and only 1 1/2 hours away. The caves were amazing, but it was knobs everywhere!! Wills got over his battery fail, just means we have to go back. Cheers for watching and have a brilliant week 🍻
Helo guys! Oh, what's better than traveling, even close by and always discovering something new and wonderful? Buxton was a real discovery for me. I didn't know this town and it was wonderful to discover it thanks to you and your beautiful and funny vlog. Really a lot to see here! An interesting, historical and very picturesque place. And then the cavern....how impressive! Truly a great day and experience in Buxton! HUGS and happy week, my friends and my huge like! Renata
Thanks Renata. This one was a real discovery for us too. We’d heard of it, but never visited and we could really have stayed there longer. The caves were spectacular. Well worth a visit. Cheers and have a lovely week 🍻
They are the bane of my life and seem to be becoming the norm here!! It wouldn’t be so bad if rural areas had decent 4G!!! We’re glad you enjoyed our tour, it was a fun day out. Cheers 🍻
Buxton - interesting and entertaining tour. Loved the vagabonds, The Alchemist cure. Beautiful town with interesting hidden gems to explore. Thanks for introducing us to a new place, my friends. Have a good day! Tc.
Great tour of Buxton and the surrounding area, Rachel and Wills. The architecture is lovely and the food looked delicious! Lovely views outside of town. Loved the tour and the caves! Poached eggs too! 🤣🤣It would have looked wonderful from above! 😁😁 Thanks for bringing us along.
What a beautiful town. I'd like to sped a day or 3 there taking all that in. Those Babbling Vagabonds set the tone - pointing you in all the right directions. The architecture from the glory years is beautifully maintained - especially impressed with the old bathhouse now a shopping mall. That piece of wall they left is just such an ode to those who originally built the bath house. I agree that the market wasn't as exciting as it could have been, maybe due to it being 'off season'. Our markets always seem a bit played down in the winter. Leaving your backpack, so easy to do - just as well you hung on to the drone though. That would have been sad to loose it due to the heavy wind. Happy days you two. Loved this day in Buxton. Great t-shirt Wills! Ta for sharing! 👍🇳🇱🙋♀🇳🇿 💝
Thanks Anita. It’s a stunning town and we said at the time we’d love to spend a few days touring the area. We loved the old bath house too, the tiles were incredible. Just means we have to go back to see some more and Wills can fly his drone up that hill. Have a brilliant week. 🍻
Liked #51, it's amazing what a spatown brings to the area, plus being at the highest heights adds the lure for some reason. Charming town nonetheless!!! Love the views from the top of Solomon's Temple's Grindlow Hill. Have a fun-filled day 😎👍
Thanks so much for watching. It was a lovely day out and we loved the town. You’re right, the views from up by the tower were stunning. Cheers for watching 🍻
Sorry to hear of Will's condition. We wish him a speedy recovery! Always go with booze when it's an option. Kingslayer Double IPA sounds fantastic! Look at all those gooses! Those are definitely rods of stone. That country side is 😍 🥰 That shirt is Ace, Wills. 🍻
Thanks guys. Wills is fully recovered now. There really were many geese in Buxton. Yes the cave brought out the childishness in both of us! Hope you guys are both well. 🍻
Buxton looks like 'baby Bath' with the curved building and the water. I love seeing beautiful buildings that have been restored, the Assembly rooms were lovely and the Opera House gorgeous. Loved that Pam Ayres is still around too, bless her!

Love the look of the Opera House! Buxton seems like it would a really fun spot to pass the day. Too bad about the market, but the Stalagmite banter had met cracking right up.
Ah thank you. It’s a lovely town. We really enjoyed our day there. Yup, if that’s a poached egg, then I’ve been cooking them seriously wrong 🤣. Cheers for watching 🍻
Oh wow! Looks like an amazing place! I'd go just to see that incredible opera house! The stained glass out front and interior design! Amazing! The park and everything around was lovely as well! Glad to see some Canadian geese showed up to represent. Only sorry to see the market was a bit disappointing. The view from the temple was absolutely stunning as well! Although you weren't able to grab drone footage, that's just an excuse to go back! Thanks for this Rach and Wills!
There were plenty of Canadian geese there! Very forward they were too. It’s a lovely town and we felt we could have spent longer there. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks so much for watching 🍻
I’ve heard of Buxton water but didn’t realise it was a town, probably of which the water comes from! Poached eggs?? With you on this Rach 😮 maybe they look like poached eggs from above but at eye level….questioning if I’m doing poached eggs right! Lol 😂 this segment made me laugh, done perfectly! You guys, sorry re your batteries for the drone, disappointing but a great walk up to that tower! Leaving Nick to the Johnson jokes 🤣🤭 love ya ❤️😘
Thanks for watching. Yup, very suspicious poached eggs! Surely every person who visit thinks - nah that looks more like a c**k! 🤣. It’s a beautiful town and well worth the visit. The water was beautiful once it had been in the fridge for a day. There’s loads of holly walks for you outside the town too!! Cheers for watching and have a great week. 🍻
Great to see you over the border in England guys😊👍. Lovely tour of Buxton, brought back memories of visiting this great town many years ago. The opera house was gorgeous, love how they have kept the historical touches👌. Your cave tour looked like sooo much fun, even if you were both giggling at the back when in the 'poached egg' cave🤣🙈. Have to agree with you there, not a poached egg in sight but plenty of PHALLICTITES!🤣🤣🤣(that's our best effort). Loved the cheeky gags🤩🤣👍. We remember visiting the blue John caves in the Peak District years ago, also really worth checking out👍. Ah P felt your pain forgetting your drone batteries at the tower Wills😫. Especially when another drone went flying by, how annoying 🤨. Still a fabulous video as always Rach and Wills. Hope you both have a great week ahead, Shell and Pete😊👊👍
Ah thanks guys. It’s so beautiful there isn’t it. That’s a top knob gag!! Wish I’d have thought of it. Yup they were like no poached egg is ever seen! Wills has forgotten the SD cards, now the batteries, surely that’s it - unless he forgets the drone itself! We’ll have to go back another day! Cheers for watching and have a brilliant week. 🍻
This was a fab tour. I’ve never actually heard of Buxton. Like all the old builds and architecture. Really cool that they kept the tiles from the original bath. How amazing looking back and seeing you caught the bat on camera. I also love the inside of old theatres, they are amazing buildings. This looks a great place to visit.
I was going to mention what The Tradesman's Entrance is in Oz but I couldn't be arsed. Love the postcard. Was it fizzy mineral water? Another great one that left my gagging for more.
Yup, means the same here too! You can’t pass a cafe called that and not include it too! It’s still mineral water, slightly warm, but after a couple of hours in the fridge it was lovely. Wish id have gotten in - pulled it off 🤣. Cheers for watching 🍻
Wow, awesome very complete tour of the lovely Buxton, really do feel like you managed to shine a lovely light on this historical place. Loving the architecture, water running out of every orifice? Not too sure about that but if its good enough for the proud locals its probably good enough to drink! Really struggle with water, not a fan, but heard great things about the Buxton brand and to see it flowing so naturally is genuinely interesting. The caves were great, those stalagmites gave me envy for some reason but the jokes were great, “they were coming out fast and hard”, “try and slip that one in” past the youtube willy monitors! Rach you got so many gags in you might have to take over Willies job, cough, i mean Wills. Well thats done it now, what a cock up, it will be nob joke after nob joke all night. Great video ❤
Buxton water is really nice. It’s a bit warm, but I took that bottle home and popped it on the fridge and it was absolutely lovely! Thanks for the extra knob gags, I wish I could have gotten a few of those in! Cheers 🍻
Wow! We've added this to our must-visit list. We're both artist's and see SO much great architecture there to paint! Girl! I can't wait to eventually meet you! I'm with you on the whole poached eggs scenario. We loved Wills shirt as well! Thanks for the info filled and honest/natural/funny videos. You're my kind of people!
What a lovely comment. Thanks so much for watching. It’s a beautiful place and we could have stayed so much longer. It was a lovely day out though! Those caves were incredible, but poached eggs my a***!!! 🤣. Thanks so much for watching and cheers 🍻
Great vlog, we've been to Buxton a couple of times, but theres a few places on your vlog that I'd not seen. We have never visited the cave, but after seeing it on here, we will definitely visit next time. 👍
What an interesting fun fact - I did not know that Buxon is England's highest market town! I remember exploring the town and the caves, many years ago. Nice to bring back some happy memories. Thank you for a fun and informative vlog, Rach & Wills. I really enjoyed learning about the history of the town and surrounding area 🤗❤
Hi both, never heard of Buxton but it looked really nice. Shame you couldn't get in the oldest church in Buxton but the cafe looked nice, good thing your rucksack was still there Rach ! Really loved the caves and all of the history, Lukas was a great guide and amazing that the 1980s excavations revealed that these were from the bronze age. Great look around here :) ~ Anna 💞👍
You are brilliant free outside! 2.50 inside! Hope to see the drone next time. Assembly Room is cool. Where are you based? I am heading to Liverpool and Birmingham. Easy for me to swing to Wales too. Mid July this year. Flight tickets issued.
I know what are we like! I did fill up my water bottle outside too to get some free water!!! We’re just in Wales, only 40 mins from Liverpool. That would be really cool! Cheers for watching 🍻
Ah thank you!! We shouldn’t be allowed out really, especially in a very phallically challenged Cavern! We had great fun though. Cheers for watching and welcome to the channel 🍻
I've always loved Buxton and visited it many a time when I lived near Stoke. It's very high up and quite hard - sometimes impossible - to get to when it snows (and it often does there!). Warm wishes my friends from Millionaire Paul :)
It’s beautiful isn’t it. We said when we were there it must be a bugger in the snow!! Thanks for watching and we hope you had some happy memories of your time there. Cheers 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint I currently live in Buxton,. I would say it is more cold than snowy. I've seen it snowing heavily nearby in Sheffield, but nothing here. It's just colder here by 2-3 degrees compared to surrounding towns. Having said that in the Summer of 2022 it was almost 40oC and the road on the market place melted. I saw one guy crossing the road and his flip flop stuck to the tarmac. BTW - the market places is buzzing in Summer and sometimes there are restrictions there that limit the number of stalls.
3:10 pree Victorian 1600s , this building hear is the oldest in Buxton ,,,,, 9:15 this market is not what it normally is , the stall vehicles have been vandalised 2 times over the last 3 months meaning the stalls can not be put out , only vendors with there own stalls where present when you turned up , you have just turned up at the wrong time , the market normally spans both carparks,,,,, 9:48 best cafe in Buxton the boss jojo is a lovely woman , the tradesman's entrance have excellent service and quality food
Thanks so much for watching. We loved those Victorian colonnades, thanks for the fact. We did presume we’d caught the market at the end. Sad to hear about the vandalism as Buxton had such a lovely feel to it. We’ve never met such friendly people. Yep the food at the Tradesman’s Entrance was spot on. I take it you’re from Buxton or know it really well. We absolutely loved it and want to return. Cheers 🍻
I live and work in Saudi Arabia, and have been looking at buying a house in Buxton - during further research I stumbled across your fantastic video, and an offer on a house has been accepted. Thank you so much!! Subscribed and slowly getting through all your videos - I imagine at least one of you works in television production of some kind or something very similar, as these are very professionally put together, yet so unpretentious we can all relate to them - great work, and thank you again!
Thank you so much. This comment has made our day. We loved our day trip to Buxton and definitely want to return. Congratulations on the purchase of your new house. Not sure you’re going to like the weather as much as Saudi, but if you like rain, you’re in the right place! We were amazed that the spring water is just free to fill up as many containers as you can! You pay good money for Buxton water in the shops!! Neither of us work in Tv! But thanks for saying that. We do both work in theatre, so I guess it’s not too far away, but in theatre we are behind the scenes people! We’re glad you enjoy our videos and welcome to postcard and a pint. Cheers 🍻
Thank you so much. We really enjoyed ourselves on your wonderful town. We’ve never visited a place where the people of the town were so proud of where they lived. We could easily have spent the night there and explored further. We’ll be back!! Cheers 🍻
I think he’s done now with forgetting! We’ve had a trip with no SD cards and now a trip with no batteries!! Short of forgetting the drone, I think we’re good! Thanks for your kind words and cheers for watching 🍻
Thank you so much. Yes we did know that, but we weren't sure how far it was and we were on a tight schedule! We loved Buxton, what a gorgeous place. Cheers 🍻
I too might have came up with another name for the "poached egg chamber "in the cavern, perhaps a reference to the builder of Buxton tower, but yes the color is about right. Buxton does seem like a place I'd love to visit in the future. Thanks for the entertaining(as always) tour. And yes, I too enjoyed the cave tour and no, you were not too naughty. The joke at the end was though!👍
Glad you enjoyed the tour, it really is a beautiful town, we could easily have stayed for longer. Yup the builder of the tower had such an apt name for the poached eggs 🤣🤣. Thanks so much for watching 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPintOh I loved it, there are 3 pools and saunas and a nice room with heated recliners and it's so posh and clean. Theres a good cafe too and an array of fancy treatments. Very dear but worth saving up for. Buxton is a pretty place, glad I got to see it too.
Great video keep it up very well stay blessed always have a wonderful day stay connected to dear friend My Full Support excellent video 📸👉🔔👈👉⭐⭐⭐👈💯💯💯💯👌👌
That was a beautiful market, it's great when they repurpose old structures. It adds a lot of personality to a place. It' a shame there wasn't a show at the opera house, it looked amazing though. The highest market, not the best market, maybe the venders are turned away by all the slopey-ness 😁😁 Doohhh hate when we forget something.
Thanks so much for watching it’s a beautiful place. We definitely want to visit again and possibly stay over, maybe we’ll catch a show then! I believe the market is busier on a Saturday!! Yup nearly lost the rucksack!!! Cheers 🍻
Cheers for watching. We were pretty short on time as we did this as a day trip from north wales. We parked in a lay-by on the road that runs adjacent to Buxton on the other side of the tower - possibly grin low road? It was so beautiful up there. Cheers 🍻
I actually live in Buxton and it is great and some people are amazing people, but you find a few people like British chavs and Roadmen but other then that Buxton Is an absolutely beautiful place to visit. We don't usually get sunny weather, it's usually pouring down with rain 😭
Glad we lucked out with the weather. We loved our day there. It’s a beautiful place and it blew our mind that the water we pay good money for, freely comes out of the ground for you all. Cheers for watching 🍻
I know! We were blown away that you just fill up for free in town! I filled up my water bottle and it was absolutely delicious! When I do buy mineral water, Buxton is always what I go for. Cheers for watching 🍻
Well it is isn’t it!! Poached eggs! 🤣. Yep we had looked at that, but I think our research said it was a 30/40 min walk - we did it in 10 from the road - but would probably do that walk next time if we were there for longer. Cheers for watching 🍻
To be fair this is the case for a lot of towns these days. We found it a lovely place and it was mind blowing to think that the water we pay good money for is free just bubbling out the ground!! Cheers for watching 🍻

Buxton water is really nice. It’s a bit warm, but I took that bottle home and popped it on the fridge and it was absolutely lovely! Thanks for the extra knob gags, I wish I could have gotten a few of those in! Cheers 🍻

You’re a really good presenter! Love your energy and enjoyed your video ☺️
Thank you so much, that’s really kind of you. Cheers for watching 🍻
It was so beautiful. I can’t believe it’s so close to us and we’d never been. The caves were fantastic! Cheers 🍻
It’s a gorgeous town and we had such a lovely day out. Those caverns were incredible. We could easily have spent more time here. Cheers for watching 🍻
Great film, thanks for sharing. Next time you visit Buxton, have a look in Scrivener's Bookshop where they have a resident ghost.
Oo thanks for the heads up. We loved our day in Buxton, what a beautiful town. Cheers for watching 🍻
It’s beautiful and not that far away either. We had a lovely day out there and could have easily stayed longer. Thanks for joining us. Cheers 🍻
You are brilliant free outside! 2.50 inside! Hope to see the drone next time. Assembly Room is cool. Where are you based? I am heading to Liverpool and Birmingham. Easy for me to swing to Wales too. Mid July this year. Flight tickets issued.
You sure get around. Will be looking forward to the videos!
I know what are we like! I did fill up my water bottle outside too to get some free water!!! We’re just in Wales, only 40 mins from Liverpool. That would be really cool! Cheers for watching 🍻
Enjoyable video, thank you.
Thank you so much for watching. It's a gorgeous place. 🍻
Amazing town. Peace, love and harmony.
It’s such a lively town. Thanks for watching 🍻
Brilliant Buxton 😁❤️

Really enjoyed this vid, I've subscribed for more. Thank you.
Cheers 🍻
Yeah we from buxton , you defenetly did the tourist route.
@@accessallexperiences4719 You definitely spelt defenetly wrong.
Cheers 🍻
Great video. So glad you enjoyed your visit! Great timing catching the Assembly Rooms and The Curing Chemist.
Thank you so much. We really enjoyed ourselves on your wonderful town. We’ve never visited a place where the people of the town were so proud of where they lived. We could easily have spent the night there and explored further. We’ll be back!! Cheers 🍻
schoolboy error no batteries lol hey every day a schoolday cracking video guys and gals loved it.....drone footage would have been the icing.......lol
I think he’s done now with forgetting! We’ve had a trip with no SD cards and now a trip with no batteries!! Short of forgetting the drone, I think we’re good! Thanks for your kind words and cheers for watching 🍻

Awsome
Thanks so much. We loved it there. 🍻
You can actually walk up to Solomon’s tower from the Poole cavern, loved your video very informative and entertaining thanks
Thank you so much. Yes we did know that, but we weren't sure how far it was and we were on a tight schedule! We loved Buxton, what a gorgeous place. Cheers 🍻
Great video! From a Buxtonian.
Thank you so much. You live in an amazing place. We loved our day there.
Great vlog! We really enjoyed the tour with you. I wasn’t aware there were so many ways of describing a poached egg 😂
Thank you so much. We loved it as a town. All I can say is I didn’t see poached eggs! Not even once! Cheers 🍻
Just subscribed 😊. I'm an X resident. Love Buxton ❤️

Definitely stay at Ensana if you can, its beautiful!
We did stick our head in there and it looked beautiful!!! We definitely want to bathe in the beautiful waters on our next visit. Cheers 🍻
Every time me and the wife watch you guys going into caves we always think of the Father Ted episode with Victor Meldrew, the very dark caves 😂
Love Father Ted!! What a great programme - feck, arse and all that. Cheers 🍻

I live here and its a nice town, just avoid fairfeild road
We loved our time here. We’ll bear that in mind when we visit again! Cheers 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint you should go up corbar cross the next time your come to buxton, and don't forget the battery for your drone🤣
Fairfield Road itself is OK, it's the Fairfield Estate behind it which is best avoided.
@@blackporscheroadster-yw8hb i know that road all to well as i have lived on it for 14 years, they must of gotten really lucky
Cheers 🍻
Where did you park when you went to Solomons temple? You can walk from poole's cavern 😊
Cheers for watching. We were pretty short on time as we did this as a day trip from north wales. We parked in a lay-by on the road that runs adjacent to Buxton on the other side of the tower - possibly grin low road? It was so beautiful up there. Cheers 🍻
go to buxton every thursday
It's a lovely place! Cheers for watching 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you come back again soon!

I live in Buxton, i can confirm the market is a bit disappointing, although to be fair Buxton is more well known for its springs
I know! We were blown away that you just fill up for free in town! I filled up my water bottle and it was absolutely delicious! When I do buy mineral water, Buxton is always what I go for. Cheers for watching 🍻
"Cock Cave"🤣🤣🤣🤣
Quick point, you could have got to Solomon's Temple from the car park at Pooles Cavern.
Well it is isn’t it!! Poached eggs! 🤣. Yep we had looked at that, but I think our research said it was a 30/40 min walk - we did it in 10 from the road - but would probably do that walk next time if we were there for longer. Cheers for watching 🍻
And fun fact the water heals you

Buxton used to be a lovely shopping area but unfortunately it is now inundated with charity shops which has spoiled it .
