As an Aztec warrior from 1423, I do agree that this "Deepwoken" thing makes no sense. Like, wheres the new fire ceremony? clearly a reason on why its failing.
The world serpent is a good idea done wrong,they could have dropped it at a later time as an introduction to the southern luminant and have it be the main world event there.
i don't know why it just spawns somewhere random like outside etris docks, i'm not tryna fight that thing as a power 1 on my way to erisia, or ever honestly
Nah. This isn’t THE world serpent. It’s A world serpent if even. This one specifically is one that sunk a place named caeranthil (or however it is spelled). Just merely one of the creatures whom took part in the sinking of Celtor
8:50 to be fair, the fondant splinter ingame is sturdy enough to be used as a functional weapon (more damage than almost three quarters of all light weapons), soft enough to be edible, and not only does it HEAL YOUR WOUNDS UPON BEING CONSUMED, it somehow doesn't satisfy your character in the slightest, as that is all it does, it doesn't mend your hunger, it only mends your wounds
If the players were not bounded by the ingame rules then you could hypothetically just have 12 foundant splinter’s and start eating them to gain back max hp Assuming you can weapon switch fast enough
they always say in the server announcement for world events that: "Ooh some boss is gonna destroy whole Lumen" but its just a dumb plastic bag with lots of hp
witherblade car. I cant believe deepwoken is gonna get its racing spinoff with attunement and oath themed powerups, legendary weapon vehicles and featuring several rogue lineage dlc characters.
My take on why The doom of Caeranthil keeps coming back is that it's a Krulian of some sort taking from the theory that Krulian's are amalgamations of negative soul energy of those who've fallen near its birth place, take Primadon. The Monkey's paw is likely a Driftland of the western luminant where many khans died, birthing Primadon, a monkey-like Krulian. And since Krulian's are known to be able to regain their energy in the depths, it allows for The doom of Caeranthil to keep coming back.
In my opinion parasol would be much cooler as a dephts apex predators that fishes out depht monsters with it's tendrils with some of them being able to escape and that's how they spread around the luminants, that way it can be just a dumb jellyfish while also keeping the part of the lore about it bringing monsters from the dephts, but yet again that's just my opinion.

Just a lil nit pick but I don't think the dormant splinter is supposed to be the kings sword, mainly due to the fact that the description of the shattered katana states that it's own design was based of the kings blade, where as the splinter looks to resemble more of saber/European style weapon. The handles themselves look striking different aswell, with the dormant splinter having a cross guard which you would rarely see on the more asian styled weapons used by etrians. PS, I can't be the only one who keeps forgetting the world serpent exists, right?
i feel it is more of an imitation of a once famous blade wielded by the king and it seems it was stripped, meaning that it acts like a blade to craft with and different styles would imitate the ingredients used, like the umbrite corrupts the blade further

I see the parasol moreso as a transporter thingamajig, it's said to be a cross pollinator for "creatures that make their way from the Depths to Lumen" so i kinda imagine their stomach having a rift of some sort, spitting them out through its fleshy hole, occasionally formed into the big boulders to throw at enemies if threatened. I could see them doing this just as a way to try to expand the depths by having it's influence spread, maybe making some go insane or killing people.. eventually leading in people going to the depths and becoming yummy food for the people down there. maybe the parasol leeches from the mobs coming up or something and that would be the benefit for doing all this for it? dunno, spitballing.
The most nonsensical thing this update is how Tillian and Aelita are supposedly twin siblings, yet ones a dog and ones a cat. SO either their mother got around in a night, or its some cartoon bs.
The doom of caranthil is the same thing as the Celtorian horror, meaning all drownings were caused by big snake things. Which I hate. It all just feels like a massive ret con, I know the celtorian horror was mentioned before but it makes much more sense that the people who experienced the event couldn’t grasp the fact that it was a natural disaster and blamed it on a giant beast. Dormant splinter lore is actually insanely good but the dormant splinter being the splinterblade (the kings sword) makes no sense as it’s not a katana (maybe it put on a few pounds) and the interluminary parasol has some good lore since it explains why animals mutate in the transitionary stage between the surface and the depths.
They should add a new event where everyone who has coral fever gets an actual fever and destroy man makes their head explode with no warning instantly wiping you. (Would still be more fun and make more sense than the world boss fights).

I think the reason no info on the parasol’s existence is because 1. It’s very new 2. It’s called the interluminary parasol and is mostly living in the void sea. Obviously people do not want to go into the void sea just to study I giant monster throwing, creature that’s only theorized to be from the depths That’s my two cents of it anyway

Yeah the world serpent is dumb as hell only way to get away from the instakill is either a ton of mobility mantras as you mentioned or either corrupted payback and kamui or you can parry it with force your way
Parasol and the monsters they spawn are probably a symbiotic relationship, where monsters get to go to the surface while the parasol gets protectors Also i like the world serpent boss fight, besides the jank from the whirlpool move (that does damage ranging from 2 bars to one shotting you) and the fact dumbass players staying far from it causes it to keep diving over and over again
We need kinda depths expansion with more terrirory, and..monsters like: corrupted primadon and any world event boss More Deep Owl lore More ministry/diver/union impact on L1/L2 And overall make depths more scary place NOT DUE TO GANKERS BUT MONSTERS
