Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed it along with your trip through Nice. Very helpful and informative. Lyon is on this years bucket list along with Marseille. Thanks again and keep the video's coming
Nice video Laura. I was there in February & the food is incroyable. Like you, I tried the Andouilette. It's an acquired taste I think. The saucisson brioche was lovely. I plan to go back & try some of the dishes you showed which looked delicious also. Bonne appetit !
Hello Laura, I am ”stuck” in Lyon this weekend, sandwiched between two weeks of work. I reserved a table at Le Poêlon d’or to try the Boudin Noir, the waitress explained that they only have Boudin Noir on the menu in the winter (October-March) so I had the Salad Lyonaisse. Footnote: Call and check availability of a table to book at the popular Bouchons, and yeah… avoid the Andoulliete.. it’s an aqquired taste I think.
I LOVE poached eggs, they're my personal favorite way to have eggs to be honest haha and there were a lot of dishes in Lyon that had poached egg in them.
Spent 1.5 day there many years ago. Randomly tried a few restaurants, small ones as well as a fancy one. Mixed feeling, don’t think they are better or worse than other similar sized cities in France, Italy or Spain.
I'm from Lyon and, as in every city there are some great, and "less great" restaurants. I wish you better luck next time, hoping you will come over here again.
I think being vegetarian is definitely possible. If you are still happy to have meals with eggs and dairy you'll have a lot easier time than if you are vegan, which I think would be far more difficult. There are a lot of traditional dishes that are vegetarian or can easily be made vegetarian in my experiences.
@@ase_chicken472 They really don't. At least no restaurants serving traditional dishes. I was there with my vegetarian partner and if the bouchons served a vegetarian dish it usually involved a lot of goats cheese, which she's also not particularly keen on. On the upside we didn't have any difficulty finding vegetarian food, but it was at non-French restaurants (Thai/tapas/Italian etc).
I live in Lyon and assure you there are a wide variety of different French restaurants here. They serve fresh fish, beef, lamb, veal rabbit etc. Bouchons are in a special category.
Was hoping for more veggie reviews and all i got was a person shoving dead animals in their mouth. Glad you enjoyed it, poor souls were tortured for you.

Don't avoid andouillette - rather try it and see if you like it. But it is strong stuff.
I enjoyed your video thank you ❤
Bonjour! Thank you for an excellent video! Merci! Dean and Cindy.
Great review, thank you. Are there any popular food trucks in Lyon worth trying?
Awesome palace

Spending a day at lyon and leaving by train the next day in July. Is there any specific district you would recommend us to stay at?
I like the area around Hotel de Ville or Place Bellecour. They are the most central and allow you to explore both old and new very easily.
thanks Laura. I love it.
Once again, great video... Thanks for posting... - Joe & Janet

Do you think it be hard to be vegetarian in France?

Not at all, i would say that 80% of restaurants have vegan menu

My husband and I don't eat pork, sobasically according to the restaurants here it will be a challenge to find something without it.

The s in Lyonnais is silent.
How unbelievable can a salad ever really be?
If it’s 23% bacon?
I suggest you go there before you start making judgments. It really is pretty remarkable !
Pretty fantastic, but unfortunately you've never had one.
when you eat real vegetables you can tell it's amazing
No, WORLD capital !
