Just to clear up a little confusion -- when I start offering channel memberships, this will in NO WAY change the content I'm currently offering for free. If you choose not to do the channel membership thing, you will experience absolutely nothing different than what you do today. I am not going to hold content ransom. 🙂 Channel membership offers me a better way than Patreon to give back to people who want to donate to the success of this channel via little perks like: custom badges that make your comments stand out more to me and others, early access to some of my videos, members only chats/live streams, special updates, discounts on Serious Keto merchandise / cookbooks (eventually), and priority attention to recipe requests. Again, channel membership is completely optional and simply a better way for me to say "thank you" to people who have an interest in supporting this channel. My plan is to go live with that on March 1st.
I agree with this, people who have favorite independant youtubers understand or grow to understand why the ads are there! Do the ads, and a member thing only once you have a clear idea of what you would be offering. Maybe also start an email list linked to your website and have a blog element on the website.
I am on the side of do the ads. The value of all your videos has been huge for me. I can wait for a few seconds or minutes to enjoy the content you produce. thanks!
PROBLEM WITH SO MANY ADS is poor writing....they are holding viewers hostage . If they were well done there would be no problem b/c within the first few seconds we would be entranced and continue for however long....So not only are your viewers being held hostage there is guilt by association for Serious Keto. they want to piggy- back on YOUR reputation. Instead their marketing departments should be requesting metrics on how fast people click out of their ads and fire that agency or creative dept. if the core message is not getting through. Here's a thought...limit their Ads to 10 or 15 secs. or two 5 sec bursts....because really all they can hope for is name, top- of-the mind-recognition. Loved the Mercedes You Tube ad with Micheal Dean Andersen. watched a number of times. Great writing, Good use of Talent. Of late the Cleo should go to chanix "Slow Turkey"
I just keep waiting for Perfect Keto to pull the plug on me. They give me all these talking points that they want me to use, and I just say, "yeah, I think I'll say what I actually think".
@@SeriousKeto Great! That's exactly why I keep watching you! I use a couple of their products almost every day, because I love them, they're easy (I'm lazy), but some of them are just unnecessary. I use the MCT oil powder in my coffee with a little HWC for "Bulletproof" coffee every morning, I like to have the nut butter pouches on hand for a quick snack, and the bars for times when I have no time for an actual meal (I keep one or two in my purse "just in case"). But I am going to make your recipe for Macadamia nut butter today.
your chaffle videos saved my keto life, kept me going on keto. theres a lot of people doing chaffle recipes but your production value is head and shoulders above the rest. i look forward to your videos and hope you keep them up. recipes that you convert to keto sounds like and amazing idea! a physical cool book would be great, i've already started writing down your recipes in a note book, just think your cook book could be on the shelves of a new generation of keto "foodies". i don't mind any of the ads, the only thing i hate is when people put them in every 3 mins, but after all its free info to me so doesn't bother too much. i also don't mind the product reviews and pitches, as long as we can continue to trust your reviews are not "bought". i think there are some channels that its obvious its just for a paycheck. do whatever you need to do to keep making videos, i'll be here.
I always look forward to your videos. Here are my thoughts: 1. I would buy your cookbook 2. I don’t mind the commercial videos, no different that on tv. If it makes you money, that’s great! 3. I think that you should speak at keto conferences. With your trading video, you would be a popular speaker. Wishing you every success with your “serious” business.
I would love to see videos of recipe transformations! I like that you include techniques that are not every day techniques ans you showcase tools. The plunger whisk is amazing and I had no idea such a thing existed until I saw you use it. I would buy a cookbook you put together. The keto cookbooks I've come across so far typically focus on simplistic, few ingredient recipes and often most of them are not so good. Coconut oil does not go with everything; it just doesn't. Chaffle videos got me introduced to you. You're demeanor and presentation got me hooked (I mean subscribed). Loved the transformation series. The blend of serious and not so serious is great. Keep up the awesome work.
Loved this but it sounds as though you're considering going the Thomas DeLauer route. There's a reason many of us don't subscribe to him and only watch his videos occasionally. Please don't get caught up in the hype and hire a staff and build bigger and better studios then cry about how expensive it is and tell us all about the anxiety from having to keep making more and more content to pay for all the staff and studios not needed in the first place! Phew. Do what you must to make this endeavor profitable for you, but please don't alienate us. Keep it simple and humble because that's your thing and what we like about you and your channel. 👍
I'm with you (and not going the DeLauer route). There are a few people I used to follow pre-keto that swore up and down they'd never take on a sponsor or have it be about the money. Then they took on a sponsor and made it about the money. And it wasn't "being about the money" that drove me away from them, it was that I saw them as hypocrites. I just want to be transparent with everyone (and not a hypocrite). If I make changes to this channel to make it profitable, I'm doing it to pay my mortgage and put food on the table.
I can't watch Delauer mostly because his vids are too long and full of polysyllabic mumbo jumbo. Brevity and editing seems to be the most difficult task for youtubers. I've seen 23 minute videos on how to make an omelet. People make you watch them crack eggs.. introduce their dogs... talk about their chiropractor visit. It's a disease :-)
I saw a 14 minute video on how to make a pumpkin pie video. And all this gal did was add canned pumpkin pie to the egg and mozzarella. She actually filmed the entire 5 minutes of the chaffle cooking. Yet, she has more subscriber than me. Go figure. 😄
I have to agree about the Thomas route.. I like him he seems like a genuinely nice guy but simplicity is sometimes best ( like a diet should be ) but let’s face it he is at 2 million subs now.. that sounds like serious Keto money!!! Pun intended ;-) I subbed you because you are straight forward with a realistic approach and a bit of humility... even though I’m a Boston PATRIOTS guy ;-) Keep doing the good
I love your channel so if you have to put no skip ads in your videos, that's fine. I'll still watch and I love your honesty on this issue and everything else you discuss here. Be well 😊
Steve, you’re videos is something I look forward to & support my Keto woe. I’d be happy to watch a commercial or purchase an endorsement. Thank you, for your honesty, not to mention your adorable and quarky ways 😄
Love the content man. You are really relatable and people will wait an extra few seconds to watch your videos. You gotta feed your family so just put them up. I’m already 30 lbs on my keto journey. Your videos keep me going. You should do some videos on how to guides. Like how to start keto
The day I quit be honest is the day everyone should unsubscribe. Honesty got me in a lot of trouble in the corporate world, but I guess I just don't learn a lesson that well. 😄
I found you through your transformation videos and couldn't wait for each part, bought Penn's book, and started making chaffels and rye starter...so, you're pretty influential! I'm 58, low carbing for 18yrs but you've brought focus into my journey. Whatever it takes for you to have income but at some point the others have made me feel like it's less about getting out a message. You are great with sharing your passion...
I found your RUclips channel when I was trying to learn how to make a chaffle. There are hundreds of videos that show how to make a chaffle but yours was one of the few that offered multiple recipe ideas. I've only found one other channel that is based around comparing the different Keto recipes but he doesn't post videos very often.
When I stopped listening to people who believed Ancel Keys advice and started listening to Dr. Jason Fung, I literally saved my own life. I was on the way to full blown diabetes. My lipids were off the chain. Triglycerides were 601. The lab couldn't even measure my LDL levels because the triglycerides were so high. Cholesterol @280, liver enzymes showing signs of fatty liver disease. I felt miserable eating high carb, low fat. When I finally stumbled upon Dr. Fung, I started reading his books, following his videos which led me to others who were touting the benefits of low carb eating and intermittent fasting. And it's not just intermittent fasting that's helped me. It's time restricted. I don't eat every two or three hours. I have two meals a day and nothing in between those two meals. I let my digestive system rest. Constant eating keeps your glucose levels high and it wears out your pancreas. I'm turning 68 tomorrow and have never been healthier. I take absolutely NO pharmaceuticals. I can hold a plank for almost a minute now which is miraculous since I couldn't hold myself up for five seconds when I started. My arthritis is non existent, too. Low carb or keto (if you prefer to eat that way) AND intermittent fasting with time restricted eating, meaning no snacking every couple of hours, will save your life. Good for your brain, too. You're never too old to start so don't wait. No one else knows your body better. Take charge and be the best you can, no matter what age you are.
you gotta do what ya gotta do ! go for it.... your the boss ! every one needs to make a living. those who criticize should shut up or put up.. im sure the amount of work that goes in to this is unappreciated until they have to do it themselves. Keep on .... .
I purchased this movie back in July 2019 (on iTunes) and it was the catalyst the made me investigate Keto. Started keto about 6 weeks later. I also watch “The Magic Pill” but found it to be a more sensationalizing. Love this new series and look forward to your upcoming episodes.
I made your Cuban sandwich this weekend and it was amazing! Use of the Swiss cheese on the outside of the keto bread mix during cooking was a mind blowing taste experience. Looking forward to your coming recipes.
Aye man I love your channel mainly because it isn't that serious but light hearted and you're a grand presenter. Your recipes are well filmed and don't drag out. Good editing is obviously essential. I tried something new myself and that is Celeriac French fries (chips). I cooked them in lard. Delicious and you need to get the lard really hot to get a crisp chip. They're different but delicious. Great with mayo and pepper sauce and slat/pepper or as an accompaniment to a main dish. Yum yum.
Bruce Wallace I plan on doing an episode within the next month on making chips/fries from various low carb root vegetables. Celeriac is on that list. 😀
Interesting what you say about people being willing to watch ads before and during your videos. My husband and I are in our 50s and we have had this discussion many times with our children who are in their late 20s and early 30s. They block all ads and refuse to watch them. We, on the other hand, understand how the world works. It takes money to do what you’re doing. I am willing to watch ads during the videos of content creators that I really enjoy. I recognize the necessity of the content creator being able to make money. I think this is a generational thing. I love watching you Steve and I recommend you to others regularly. Keep it up!
It’s a delicate dance between making youtube your primary source of income and becoming so commercialized to attain that that you put off your subscribers. I would take it slowly. I hate, hate forced commercials that you can’t click past. Love the idea of ebooks or cookbooks (hard copy). I’d buy those! Love your take on things, your honesty and creativity.
Do what you need to do to support your family!! Everyone understands that. A little commercial in the middle of the video won’t kill us. Start a patreon account too and maybe try to go speak at some keto events and do your recipes!! You are doing a great job. I hope you can continue! I like that you have integrity and explained how it works. I have always been curious about RUclips and how it works. I didn’t know about the affiliates. I can imagine with a lot of followers you get a lot of people wanting you to sell their stuff. You are right to resist. There is so much crap out there. Keep being true to yourself and your channel will continue to grow. Serious keto is a good name. It saved your life after all. Once people tune in the name becomes irrelevant
I'm actually planning on shutting down my Patreon account in lieu of RUclips channel memberships. I feel that allows me to give something back in return to my Patrons. Plus, it's one less social media site for me to manage.
I think about it every day. 😄 First I need to pull together enough recipes, then I need to improve my food photography skills. I hope to get there by holiday 2020.
Yes, that video is the first video I found on you. I shared it with so many of my friends that are keto because the chople recipes or just the best I had ever tried and then I started following you and so did a lot of my friends. So the cooking videos is where so many people are lacking in where they fall off keto because they just don't have some of the Comfort recipes when they need them for whatever the reason may be at that time and you have definitely helped so many people would that so thank you so much and keep them coming!🤗❤
Oh I love that Drew Pinsky quote. That’s my mom. She’s so anti-fat that it’s unbelievable. She says avocados have no nutritional value so why learn to like something that is so bad for you. As an RN I’ve seen enough diabetic rotting flesh and amputations for a lifetime.... just be glad smell-o-vision hasn’t been invented yet!!
U- tube searches to show your mom--- sugar brain damage Dr sten ekberg----- sugar vs cocaine--- keto myths and lies dr Eric berg---- keto myths and lies total health Dr nick---- the story of fat what I've learned ----- sugar makes you stupid --- , watch her reaction and excuses for not doing research
Love your channel, Steve! I love been following for quite a while (maybe since you started??) But what I love, is that you are so real and honest! I appreciate all the work you put I to your videos and look forward to when you post! I'm having a hard time getting started with keto, but your content definitely helps keep me motivated and encouraged. Thanks for all you do!!
I will support your channel either through channel membership or Patreon. Your videos have helped me so much, please stay on. Also you deserve a big sponsor which I would gladly patronize. Thank you for being so genuine and sincere. You really are very much appreciated by so many. I think the comment about you being a speaker at the KETO conferences is a great idea. God bless you Steve and remember we are here for you.
I was going to wait till February to watch, I was willing to wait. Now I will pay to see it. You guys deserve it. Such great, fun and entertaining videos. Showing us the world. Keep up the great work. To me, no apology was necessary. All the best and safe travels.
So glad you didn’t cave to the trolls, in their basements.....well you know the rest. You are such an inspiration to many people and as a retired RN, a Reiki Master and back in school because I love learning and have been involved with herbs for over 40 years. Please continue on your path as you help so many!
A major reason I watch you (other than I like you and your honesty), is your knowledge of cooking!! Most don't even touch your knowledge of how to do things and why. Carrie Brown and two keto dudes do but no video. Your gourmet stuff was great and your general knowledge (even just of tools!) is fun. If you haven't watched him, Highfalutin' Low Carb is knowledge, too. This is all to say "please! Creative recipes from you would be great!"
I really do hope you start doing recipe makeovers. I like chaffles, and your pumpkin pie chaffle is the BOMB, but there are all kinds of things I'd like to see you ketofy. I will happily sit through commercials (or get a drink of water or go to the bathroom) and almost every channel I subscribe to has a commercial in the middle. Several have 2 or 3 and a few will have them every 5 minutes. What I don't like is channels that make the video longer by putting in their kids, or pets, or show how they make their videos so they can fit in more commercials. Also, for money raising I've heard other channels talk about "patrons" who donate to their channel. Whatever you choose to do, I'll stay a loyal follower.
I love my channel membership. I know it is supporting you and all of the hard work you do bringing all of the Keto content to us, your subscribers. I wouldn’t mind at all if you sponsored products. What I don’t like is when I get ads that are 30 minutes long. You tube is doing a lousy job sending ads my way that relate to me. Often times I get the most annoying video games. The audios are like nails on a chalkboard. I am a 62 year old Female and I don’t play video games. Sorry to say, I click them off as quickly as possible. So, in my honest opinion, sponsor ads of products you, yourself, continue to buy and I will consider every product. You are awesome, Steve, and I love your channel.
I love your Channel. You are articulate and I love your willingness to share your journey and be honest. Keep going, try new things, you got this. Look how quickly your channel has grown. I encourage you to add what ever you need to add to make it work. You got this!!! ill still watch if I have to wait a few seconds for an add. Dream big!!!
I had to sit in on a Diabetic Education session and had a young woman who says, " I don't understand why my Doctor sent me here for the third time!" I saw that she was amputated below the knee. I asked her what she was doing to eat per the Doctor. He told her the ADA OR Heart Diet. Thanks for the reenforced view that FAT: A documentary brought out. We are losing the Obesity race with the SAD Diet.
Hi, new sub here found your series of transformation videos and am so happy to find your recipes. I too am a foodie and it was one of the few regrets I had when I went keto 8 months ago (70lbs down and continuing) that I might not be able to continue to indulge in my love of cooking for others because of the temptation to myself. I’m hopeful your recipes will enable me to do that. Really enjoy your personality and am binge-watching your content. Cheers Jill from Oz.
Dude! You are the most real person I follow. Thank you for all your hard work. I hope this channel takes over the world. Also, run the full un-skippable ads. That is a small price for us viewers to pay to get such great content. I'm nearly 50. That's how TV worked when we were kids. There were commercials.
I can usually come up with artsy fartsy bullcrap so lemme give it a try.... the fireplace is a metaphor of the furnace within each of us which is stoked to a bright fire 🔥 when we eat keto and was a subliminal message designed to bring us to the fat burning realization. So yeah, obviously all those fireplace shots were TOTALLY necessary. 😂
Put the ads in. This is a business. It’s quality, useful, content. I’ve been watching you since chafflepalooza kicked off (lol). But, you’re now one of my favorite keto channels. I look forward to all of the new recipes! You’ve got something here. Grow it. Monetize it. We will all wait for the ads to finish! 👍🏻
This definitely reminds me of our KC episode we did together, I'm with you wherever you take the channel Steve! Let me know if you ever need help with anything! Always happy to help 😀
My Personal Recommendation as a Multiple Keto RUclips watcher. Releasing minimum of 3 videos a week. Maybe do something like Saturday Chaffles, Monday Not So Serious Keto and Wednesday a Fancy Recipe Meal/Desert. And being consistant with those 3 and randomly you can come out with a Taste Test Video ect.... This way you will get more "Regulars" On. And New people seeing the same "categories" and if they are interested in only chaffles, they will watch minimum once a week. If they want to see some fancy meals also. Thats bonus ect... As for Commercials. I would say your short video's (5mins or so) Stay the same But any videos that go over 10 Mins. Maybe implement the new stuff for the extra revenue because anybody that wants to watch you for more than 5 mins is not going to mind. Hope this helps.
I'm trying to figure out the ideal cadence for videos. I'd like to be on a 3-4 video per week rhythm, but interestingly the largest increase in subscribers I got was during the two weeks while I was vacation (go figure).
I appreciated your comments on the "Fat" documentary. I just got around to watching it. Dr Westman's latest Adapt Your Life podcast with Vinnie Tortorich encouraged me to check it out. After watching those, this old podcast of yours popped up in my RUclips feed. "FAT 2" and "Beyond Impossible" are also available on the Gravitas Documentary RUclips channel. They're next on my viewing list. Vinnie has a fairly new release, "Dirty Keto", now available on Prime Video for a small fee. I'm glad the state of Serious Keto remains strong four years in. Wishing you continued success with your channel.
When you start delving into your "gourmet spectacular meals" another thing you might do a few videos on are those recipes that are pretty much Keto without much modification, but might not be all that familiar to the average non-foodie person. I'm thinking of things like Coq Au Vin (I've been leaving out the small amount of flour from my go-to recipe and it's still been turning out great), or Beef Bourguignon, Sole Meuniere, etc. Some of these may technically not be "keto" from the macros, but still low-carb (and adding some butter might be all it takes to bump into Keto macros). Of course, these are more special occasion type dishes (i.e., sometimes time consuming), but might fit into a "Gourmet Series" for your channel. Whatever you do, I'm looking forward to it. I watch a number of channels that have RUclips memberships or Patreon. At this point, yours would be the first channel that I would likely want to participate in that with, because you are providing content that is actionable: I can try the recipes, use the advice given in my own life and whatever is on your membership would likely be the same. Most of the other channels that I have not yet chosen to do the memberships on are pretty much just entertainment. I'm not saying that they are not deserving of the extra monetary input from membership levels. It's just not risen to that level for me, where I think your channel would. My two cents.
Steve I agree with others. You need to do for you what is important. For those of us who find you worth watching we will; whether you have ads and/or commercials I will persevere through them because for me I think what you have to say is very valuable and meaningful to me.
How funny you say, "plunger wisk". Yestetday my husband and I were watching your Chaffle videos and and saw the unique kitchen gadget. I had to have one so we bought one from Amazon. Glad we can support a dedicated fellow follower. You're doing great! I like your voice. That's a bonus! You've mentioned in an earlier video about Matt & Megha pretty much heloed kick start your journey. Us too. I've been following them since their beginnings. My husband lat 120 pounds and I lost 60. Its been 5 years and still going strong. Happy that your videos have surfaced on my end. God Bless!
Thoughts from a financial advisor who advises people on their personal finance and starting a small business...and someone who is following the Keto lifestyle and really enjoys your videos. 1) I appreciate your honesty in reviews of products. Some of the "big hitters" in the keto community are obvious product shills in pushing products and it gets annoying. 2) I was actually thinking yesterday how much I dislike the youtube channel memberships that many are going to. RUclips never started charging for membership because they knew someone would come along and create a new youtube to replace it. I think many who push the memberships are going to experience this as there are no shortage of keto videos on youtube. 3) If you can double your income by not making the beginning ad "skippable" by all means do it. Your time has to have value also. I have considered starting doing keto videos recently. For me, I have a wonderful job that I love that pays me very well so I would not do it for financial gain. My reviews would be honest - like the face your daughter makes when she tries something truly horrible. My goal would be to help people facing the same struggles that I face and also some accountability for me. I'm still in the weight loss phase of my journey and learning all along the way. Anyway, I appreciate your honesty and openness in your videos. Thanks, Darrell
Steve - I am excited to see what the future holds for your channel and your Keto recipes!! I think that going from roughly 1K subscribers in September 2019 to almost 42K subscribers at the end of January 2020 is a tremendous amount of growth in such a short period of time. I don't think you have anything to worry about regarding your July 2020 deadline. Also - do what you need to do to increase your RUclips income! We all love you and support you (whatever you decide to do)!!
I really enjoy your channel. I wouldn't mind sitting through an ad or 2, if it meant continuing to get value from your well made content. Maybe check into Patreon as well.. I'll use your links any time I shop on Amazon. Best of luck!!
I'm a Caribbean Chef and I've been living a Keto lifestyle for about 5 months, now. Cooking is also my passion and trying to convert some of my recipes to be Keto friendly is challenging, to say the least. :) I would definitely support your channel in whatever monitization route you choose - I do enjoy your content. 👍🏽
It's a challenge for sure -- especially if you don't want to run afoul of the keto purists. Sometimes, though, you need a little dirty keto to convert recipes. For me, the biggest challenge has been baking without flour. That's a completely different world.
Steve, I love your channel and wish you all the success in the world. I personally don't mind the ads (I go to the bathroom, get a cup of coffee and or pay a bill while they run). I too have binders full of recipes and I am excited about the idea of converting them to keto.
My hope is that as folks see what I do for various substitutions that they will be able to apply the same ingredients/techniques to transform their recipes.
You HAVE to read “The Big Fat Surprise” by Nina Teicholtz, or watch her longest video on youtube. She’s a reporter who spent 10 years researching this book. She started out completely impartial, and is brilliant and thorough. It’s a great read, with all the science and nutritional ramifications in an accessible way for a non-medical person. You’re the best! Thanks for your review! 💚🕶
Thanks for telling me about this movie. I hadn't heard about it before your video. 3 minutes into your video I searched for it, found it free with Prime on Amazon, and immediately watched it. I thought it was a very informative and educational documentary, and I will be recommending it.
And the techniques. I think that your channel is a hidden gem for that. Cant wait for the semester to be over to try some things (chicken noodles= pad thai; Chaffles)..and to hunt for the nutzo vid!
I just found your channel...I watch a lot of RUclips...you definitely have it to make it here!!!...I’ll start sharing...go with what your gut tells you...good luck!!
I would follow you whether you added commercials or not. I don't say that about some of the other keto channels I follow. An e cookbook would be amazing as well. Would love to see you succeed in whatever fashion is necessary. BTW started watching you for the chaffle recipes but stayed because of the content and the vibe of your channel. When I'm done watching a video I feel like I can achieve anything. Best of luck!
Great review Steve! I agree with you. It seems as though they were trying to cram too many "facts" into one documentary, when actually there are many topics that could be explored, regarding fat. Thank you for sharing!
Love your channel Steve! I’m retired and don’t know if I can do the subscription, but would love your recipes. Made my first Chaffle yesterday. Loved it! I need to make a new variety today. ❤️. Thankful for your videos. 😊
Just to be clear, the "membership" is not required. You'll get exactly the same content as you get today. People who want to donate to the channel will just get some perks (TBD) that I don't currently offer.
Hey, you can't deny the power of the chaffle! But I love your channel for everything you've done. The chaffle was just my doorway to find you! Keep up all of the videos, chaffle are not! They are awesome!
Thank you for this recommendation. I watched it and found it very informative. I agree some scenes were not necessary and were a little off putting. All around it was an eye opener.
Keep up the good words and work Steve! I will sign up as you tube member, wish I could offer clever naming for tiers but I cannot. I like how you are branching out topic-wise but don’t give up on chaffel recipes!
I just started watching your channel several days ago. Not only am I just getting into a keto lifestyle, I think I'm in a very similar life situation as you, and I think we could be good friends if we lived closer, as our style of humor, age, and many life experiences seem very closely aligned. In this latest video, I found myself being impressed with how honest you were about the methods that you can make money through RUclips, and I've thought over the past year about playing around with the idea of a RUclips channel. So here's a question that perhpas you'll know the answer to...if you embed ads in your videos, do you get any compensation when someone with a RUclips Premium (ad-free) subscription watches your videos?
My friends and I will jokingly say “this is serious” about lighthearted moments. I’ve always thought your channel name was the same lighthearted meaning.... “Serious keto, no joke”. I dig it.
I think the reason I am drawn to your videos (aside from them being very good and the recipes being delicious) is that my journey through this has mirrored your own journey. I find that remarkable!. I identify with you in many ways. please keep them coming. I would love to be my own boss. I envy you on that. I'll have to check with my wife before I buy the Lamborghini. lol Go ahead and make the ads un-skippable and put a commercial in the middle, those things don't bother me at all. I know the video producers need to make a dollar and I can't afford the patreon approach. I am on a chaffle facebook page and your channel is mentioned on there a lot by me and others. BTW many have said that they now follow your channel because of that FB page. I think you had about 5000 subscribers when I found your channel.
Love your channel. One of my best friends is a registered dietitian. I get those "pity looks" often; she thinks I am going to die tomorrow because I lost 40 pounds on keto and have kept it off for two years thus far. Oh, did I mention she is about 80 pounds overweight? You are on the right track for us. Can't wait for out of the box recipes!
Steve, I am like you in that not being able to skip ads and have the video interrupted by an ad are things that annoy me. BUT when following a channel that I like its content most of the time and look forward to the next video, its okay by me. I'll put up with a little annoyance for content put out by someone like you who does a great job with delicious recipes. I understand that this kis your job now. I hope you succeed... I really think you will. So go ahead and get rid of *skip ad* and let a short ad inside your content every once in awhile. I will keep watching and I predict so will everyone else.
Another great podcast! It was your first chaffle video that brought me to your channel, you definitely have the best chaffle recipes (and non chaffle keto recipes) on here. I also didn't realize how the amazon affiliation works, i buy a lot of stuff on amazon and I'll have to remember that. Best of luck in growing your channel Steve!
Amazon doesn't allow a person to imply that using affiliate links will keep a site or channel in business, but they don't have any rule against telling people that you get a commission from any purchase they make using one of your links. 😉
The name that you gave your show didn't stop me from looking at it. hopefully this is a true statement I think for myself and I have to look at a thing and see how it works before I can make a decision whether it's worthwhile or not 2 me
Watched this documentary several times. The amputation I don’t remember. Must have not bothered me. You are correct several areas may anger people, it did me.
Hahahaha!!! Why did he include that scene on Oprah?! Half of this film felt like an ego stroke for Vinny. I give it 3 out of 5 stars. Could have had more information and better directing.
Oprah is not only the Spokesperson for Weight Watcher's, but also has stock in it. Why? Because she knows while you do lose weight with the program initially, you regain it back and then some with getting off the " Diet" then go back on again! That's why he brought out the video. ( It's for the ratings)
I don't have any advice to offer, just wanted to let you know I appreciate and enjoy everything I have watched / listened to on your channel. You make me feel like you're my neighbor and friend that I'm learning from. I would love to see your recipe adaptations!
1. I like your channel. 2. Most of my entertainment comes from the interwebs, so I would be willing to pay for extra content. 3. I order a lot off of Amazon. I had no idea I could use your link for other items. 4. I think most people would be ok with commercials so you could make a living.
thanks for the talk about the Fat documentary. I am watching it right now and enjoying it. did not know why corn flakes were invented and sold. also thanks for the warning about the amputation, will skip that.
hey thanks web for that perfect keto website ,that's a great site. It's kind of hard when you're just starting out to kind of figure out your calories and stuff ,they have a $99 program that I'm going to do , I don't know if you see this message but have a good day and thanks
I appreciate the work you put into the channel. Adding Ads or whatever is needed to make more money, You would be doing the same as all the other successful channels, however stay honest in your reviews and you will go far...
...and seriously, I really appreciate your content, style and delivery, and I’m cool with you including more ads. Wishing you continued successful growth.
Yes, excited about you converting recipes! Enjoyed this Not So Serious Keto. Keep up the good work! BTW, I was a podiatric medical assistant for years...saw my fair share of those gangrenous feet. Even I don't want to see it again in a movie!
Yes Steve, great idea to “Ketofy” gourmet-style recipes 😋 Also matches well to your logo. Can’t wait to see what’s in store. One favor to ask ... please include metric values & baking temp. in celsius for your large group of fans living overseas. That would be awesome 🤓
Great work. I want to get back to weights, but my workout room is cluttered with preparations for my grandson's birthday party. I'll just have to find a clean spot to do some body weight exercises.
@@SeriousKeto i don't have a weights room, i do it all outside ; today i just finished my home made squat cage out of scrap 4 x 2 timber. I'm having a go at the 100 press-ups per day every day, that broke down a little bit last week because we were so busy here. So that you get a look at me in return for your hard work here's my first blog video of the year.....diet explanation comes very briefly near the end. Delete obviously if you don't like this kind of link : ruclips.net/video/6Nyc8S_YhF0/видео.html
Oh and I think you should consider doing your own documentary at some point. Your review makes me think I would enjoy watching this kind of show created by you (and dr drew lol).
Just to clear up a little confusion -- when I start offering channel memberships, this will in NO WAY change the content I'm currently offering for free. If you choose not to do the channel membership thing, you will experience absolutely nothing different than what you do today. I am not going to hold content ransom. 🙂
Channel membership offers me a better way than Patreon to give back to people who want to donate to the success of this channel via little perks like: custom badges that make your comments stand out more to me and others, early access to some of my videos, members only chats/live streams, special updates, discounts on Serious Keto merchandise / cookbooks (eventually), and priority attention to recipe requests.
Again, channel membership is completely optional and simply a better way for me to say "thank you" to people who have an interest in supporting this channel. My plan is to go live with that on March 1st.
Put the ads up my friend. Anyone who has watched this video will understand and can wait a few seconds for good content 👍
I'm right there with you, it's worth it!
I agree with this, people who have favorite independant youtubers understand or grow to understand why the ads are there!
Do the ads, and a member thing only once you have a clear idea of what you would be offering.
Maybe also start an email list linked to your website and have a blog element on the website.
I understand but I really hate those darn ads!
One of the things I love about your videos is how honest you are about taste, texture and value when you do taste tests on the various Keto products.
I agree. Your production style is way up there. Pleasant to watch.
Why am I just now learning about Chaffles? :) Thanks for the content, I'll be catching up now!
I always look forward to your videos.
Here are my thoughts:
1. I would buy your cookbook
Pun intended ;-)
I subbed you because you are straight forward with a realistic approach and a bit of humility... even though I’m a Boston PATRIOTS guy ;-)
Keep doing the good
@@SeriousKeto... Watching people separate 8 eggs is always exciting.... 🤣
I love your channel so if you have to put no skip ads in your videos, that's fine. I'll still watch and I love your honesty on this issue and everything else you discuss here. Be well 😊
I ignored the chaffle until I saw your video on them, they are great and have really helped me adapt to keto because I missed bread so much
Steve, you’re videos is something I look forward to & support my Keto woe.
I love your honesty. Makes your subscribers feel like you have our best interest first but still benefit you too!
Thank you for being so honest about all of this. It’s really appreciated, especially product reviews.
I love Serious Keto and would be excited to se your recipe redos! That is something I I try to do.
Obesity code is one of my next Audible books.
@@SeriousKeto An excellent book. You'll enjoy it.
Happy belated birthday.
@@yowgyrl 😊
you gotta do what ya gotta do ! go for it.... your the boss ! every one needs to make a living. those who criticize should shut up or put up.. im sure the amount of work that goes in to this is unappreciated until they have to do it themselves.
@@SeriousKeto thx for the reply and look forward to that one. lard has to be the preferred cooking medium I would say and so does Butter Bob.
I have both lard and tallow on hand (I actually prefer tallow over lard). I just love the taste of cow. 😄
@@SeriousKeto my mouth is watering already!
I think a cookbook would be the most natural next step for you 👍😄 Keep up the great content ❤️
I love your honesty. Both in what you may endorse and about your personal experiences.
Serious Keto have you thought of making a Serious keto gourmet cookbook?
U-tube search --- why "they" don't want you to do keto Dr erick berg
🥺 geee, i lOOiive avocados!!!
I'm sorry your mom's not on board . 😔
She thinks theres nothing in avos but fat?? Haha
I wouldn’t mind the ads on your channel. I feel it’s a fair trade for the quality content you provide. Thanks for all you do.
Thank you. I'll be kicking off channel memberships next week and I hope people like it.
Enjoy your videos! Would love one of your future cook books too.You have a warm voice and give sincere talks.
Yes, I like he can cook. Most keto-ers didnt know how to cook and still rly dont lol
Glad to have you here. Congrats on your progress!
Watching you older videos. Honestly I loved the time you tasted your first chaffle. Same here. Thanks for all you do.
Thank you. 🙂
Dude! You are the most real person I follow. Thank you for all your hard work. I hope this channel takes over the world. Also, run the full un-skippable ads. That is a small price for us viewers to pay to get such great content. I'm nearly 50. That's how TV worked when we were kids. There were commercials.
Thanks, my man. I hope the channel takes off too. 🙂
Serious Keto ppl getting ready to diet for NYs. It was all about the timing of that resolution phase ppl do each yr, not having to do with YOU
I'm glad you recommended in your latest video to go back and watch some of your older videos.
I'm glad you're watching them. 😉
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a lovely Monday! 🎉🎊
@@AtTheLake91 Thanks, but I certainly do not have the "on camera" presence like Steve.
Steve I agree with others. You need to do for you what is important. For those of us who find you worth watching we will; whether you have ads and/or commercials I will persevere through them because for me I think what you have to say is very valuable and meaningful to me.
Keep doing what you're doing Steve, serious or not so serious. We seriously appreciate you!😀👍
How funny you say, "plunger wisk". God Bless!
So what do you do with it? My great aunt had one and I didnt know what to do with it so I tossed it.
I love your honesty, just subscribed. All the best from the UK.
If you need to add a commercial to keep the videos going.....GO FOR IT!!!!
Steve, I totally agree! However, I'm looking forward to your Keto friendly recipes whether they're clean or a little 'dirty'. 👍🏽😁
Love the cookbook idea. Please do one but also offer it in hardback. Thanks
A cook book would be great! Keep going! Enjoy and look forward to your programs! Thank you😁👍
Steve, I love your channel and wish you all the success in the world.
Read the book, recommend it to others
Really enjoy the content in all your vids. If you do commercials I will continue to watch. There’s nothing wrong with extra income. HFLC on.
Thanks! Looking forward to what is next!
I just found your channel...I watch a lot of RUclips...you definitely have it to make it here!!!...I’ll start sharing...go with what your gut tells you...good luck!!
Growing up in South MS, I love all your Farve memorabilia. Down 14lbs since Jan 1st!
Jessica Bard I have a considerable backlog of chaffle recipes. They will definitely continue to be part of the rotation. 🙂
Oh, and you won't lose me if I have to wait for an ad. Go for it. Don't go back to the corporate slog. We can spare 30 seconds for quality content.
I dig it.
That's sort of the reason behind it. 🙂
Love your channel. I tell all my people who need to loose weight to look you up. You are an inspiration.
Thank you, I appreciate it. 🙂
I would love to see converted recipes and a cookbook! I enjoy e every video you do!!!
The name that you gave your show didn't stop me from looking at it. hopefully this is a true statement I think for myself and I have to look at a thing and see how it works before I can make a decision
whether it's worthwhile or not 2 me
Watched this documentary several times.
Best quote in this entire podcast
"My integrity is more important to me. I'm gonna be honest with you."
I don't have any advice to offer, just wanted to let you know I appreciate and enjoy everything I have watched / listened to on your channel. You make me feel like you're my neighbor and friend that I'm learning from. I would love to see your recipe adaptations!
Thanks for the comment. Recipe adaptations will be a big part of 2020.
1. I like your channel.
2. Most of my entertainment comes from the interwebs, so I would be willing to pay for extra content.
3. I order a lot off of Amazon. I had no idea I could use your link for other items.
4. I think most people would be ok with commercials so you could make a living.
Thank you for all of those comments. 🙂
thanks for the talk about the Fat documentary.
Cant wait for the gourmand recipes, im also into Keto diet, and i like gastromony so much.. I like your channel, keep it up!
I appreciate the work you put into the channel. Adding Ads or whatever is needed to make more money, You would be doing the same as all the other successful channels, however stay honest in your reviews and you will go far...
That face at 21:20... 😆 “If somebody wants to reimburse me in Wagyu...” 🤪🥩🤪🥩🤪
...and seriously, I really appreciate your content, style and delivery, and I’m cool with you including more ads.
Nice one Steve. My news : end of 3rd week and 5kg down. Just started no so serious weights today !
@@dirtywetdogboatsandsailing6805 I really enjoy your accent. Thumbs up given!
@@SeriousKeto i can do English 'northern git' quite well as well !
I would be interested in a cookbook
Oh and I think you should consider doing your own documentary at some point. Your review makes me think I would enjoy watching this kind of show created by you (and dr drew lol).
