I did it! Woohoo! Sorry for the delay in getting this one out...."technical issues" let's just leave it at that. Fair warning there's a minor bit of shaky cam at the start of the tour section but it soon clears up. Enjoy having a detailed nosey at my space!
Well done for your craft storage makeover, it looks great I particularly love how honest you are about your “lazy ways” I’m exactly the same, if I can’t see it I won’t use it or worse I’ll buy more!, I also love how you repurpose things to make them work for you. Keep up the good work
Your Craft Space is Great! Just wondered why you don't have your yarn all in one Area. I Love the sweater you have on. You do good Crochet work. I love to Crochet (I call it Hookin') It's my Favorite Craft. My favorite part of your Craft Room is the Embroidery Floss Area. It's quite Lovely & Colorful. ThankU for the Tour. It helped me get a few Ideas. God Bless Love & Keep You! Juana
Thank you so much! The embroidery floss is my favourite part too, it makes me feel so fancy 🥰 The honest answer about the yarn storage is just that there's so much of it, my options become "store it all on these shelves and have no room for anything else" or "store it all elsewhere" or "store just enough on the shelves to look pretty in videos then hide the rest" and...um...I caved to the aesthetics.
I can't wait to get my craft/guest room organized like that! One thing I'm doing is saving Amazon boxes of a particular size, and buying decorative contact paper to cover them with. The things I don't use often will go in those on the higher up shelves my son put up for me.
I just discovered your videos and you have such a wonderful sense of humor. I love it! I’m glad to see that your craft room isn’t perfect and you keep little trinkets. I think it is great that you guys are into dice and vintage gaming!
Thank you so much! Honestly before I started making videos in it we mostly referred to this room as "the everything room" and you can probably see why 😂
Thank you so much! I always wanted a proper craft room so all this time later I still keep just going in there and staring at the shelves and thinking "eeeeeeeh" 😂
I loved this craft room tour! It all looks so tidy and colourful. Loved the Sparkle box! I'm working on my new craft room now - scraping off old wallpaper and Evostik at the moment. So doing this boring bit I need to keep my spirits up, and you've certainly done that for me! Thanks.
Thank you! The table is honestly the best thing, we got it years ago when we lived in a tiny flat with no room for a permanent dining table, but still needed to squeeze in 6-person D&D sessions in the kitchen 😂
"Never know when you're going to need a Starship Enterprise!" Truer words were never spoken. 😂 Love it. Looks great. And money well spent. Personally, I think it's great you spent that money. For one, it means you more easily know what you have and won't waste money buying things twice. And, for another, I think feeling like things are organized and easy to access and all the clutter is gone is great for your mental health. So money well-spent. If you feel like taking a trip somewhere colder than where you are now (cause who doesn't?!), I have a space I could use some help on. 😉Here's to hours of happy crafting, my friend! 😊
It's starting to look like I might need to do a world tour of other people's craft rooms. Wonder if I can find a sponsor to cover that 🤔 Also, right, you do make very good points and I can already feel a huge weight off my mind now that everything in there doesn't just get dumped on the floor. BUT the frugality runs deep and I intend to spend nothing else between now and Christmas shopping to make up for it 🙈
Very nice, Michelle! Love the flamingo file folder organizer thingy that I can't think what it's really called 😅🦩 Love your space & look forward to seeing what you end up doing with the pegboard!
So many congrats to getting monetized! I use many of the same sorting/organizing methods you described, and I swear it’s the only way that works! I also love “display storage” for the pretty stuff! Well done in such a small space with so many uses!
Thank you so much! I'm glad I'm not the only pile-maker, no idea how people can reorganise things without actually seeing everything in one place first! Now just to train Dave on where his dice mess goes from now on... 😅
Thanks! Yes I keep thinking about putting something up there but run into opposition from the bit of my brain that wants to keep that whole area symmetrical. It's a work in progress 😅
As you can see I am somewhat less organised when it comes to replying to comments. But ooh did you do a room makeover video? Idk why I'm asking this I could just go check, you know what imma just do that ok bye... 😂
Loving how you sorted the spaces! Showed my boy the Russian ninja dolls. My daughter got some traditional ones then my boy wanted some and I found a set of pandas for him, the ninjas would have been 100% perfect though!! I've no designated room but me and the hubby both have ideas for our eldest when he moves out (if he ever does). I do think the teeny drawers are a genuine idea BC we all have tiny things that get lost in bigger drawers or in the the little pen pots etc. My yarn bowls never hold yarn either but they are great for storing anything and everything lol 😂
Honestly the tiny drawers are like my new favourite thing. They're so cheap and precarious but so USEFUL, I might get more and build a wall of the things. I was going to mention in the video that Dave got me those ninja dolls when we first got together. But then I started second guessing it and wondering if I'd got things mixed up and didn't want to offend him. But tldr it turns out it was him after all! I know I know, cool story right? 😅
I got the same Ikea table as you and it was a killer to move, so I have put wheels on it. The kind that you can lock when you use the table. Its worth doing
Really good to get these inspiration right now. First part of my move is tomorrow and it’s of course all my crafting stuff and I will have to sort it all on the new place. And I think I will do a Michelle and film myself. 😅
Woohoo! I bet it feels so good to be in there! I had to spend weeks shuffling things around in my space, too, and let me tell you - the curse of everything being just a millimeter off from fitting where you want it is so real! And I may not be able to follow knitting patterns myself, but I am ALL ABOUT your stash of vintage ones! I'd love to see you go through them and make something! Engineering Knits does a lot of Victorian ones, but you know, I'm an 80s girl. I love to see those things, too.
I feel like most room makeovers have everything go perfectly and the new layout just sort of floats together on its own. That is not how this works! SO MUCH trial and error! And yes I definitely need to give the vintage patterns a proper look. Even if there's nothing in there I'd actually wear it'll be interesting, and maybe I'll be able to spot some of the things she inflicted on me as kid 😂
@@TheGiddyStitcher As someone who collects vintage craft books in general - there are just so many incredible awful things in them and it's amazing and I love it. I'm sure you will be entertained, if nothing else. 🤣 I didn't have a lot of crafters in my family, but my aunt did crochet - no clothes though. She made me several toys and some doll clothes, and I am dying to find some of the patterns she used. If for no other reason than to see where she got them from and how she did it.
The room looks fantastic. I'm amazed how much you've managed to organise and fit in there, and still retain your wonderful personal touch. (Can't see the little model of the Queen you used to have. Asking in a whisper - is that because she......died)?
It seemed a bit weird to still have her waving away in the sunlight, so she got boxed up with some other nostalgic ornaments. At some point I'll be sorting through that box and find her again and decide it's no longer weird, but for now it made more sense to have the vaguely Halloweeny things out 😄 Also thank you I am super chuffed with how it's turned out!
Wooah! Now where is the camp for bringing the bags home and just leaving them on the kitchen work surface for an unspecified amount of time? Some bags just even travel upstairs to the craft room of despair without even being opened 🙊😂 now back to the rest of your video...
Oh no, Dave would definitely not be having any of that haha, we have a sort of uneasy truce between my tendency to leave things out and slowly form piles, and his absolutely mental approach of just...putting things away immediately with no drama. I definitely do that with ones destined for the craft room though....hoping it was just due to not having a place for things but like I said on IG, we'll see how it goes! 😅
😂 New subscriber, you won me over with your incredible relatable narrative on being a multi-crafter. By the way, congratulations on your money-thingy 🎉. Now to binge watch your previous content 😀 x
I wonder if you could put some casters or furniture slides on the legs of the craft table? Maybe then you could move it more easily when the drawers are full.
A year later and now watching this. I am also in the B catagory. I put things in piles then put away. Why would I want to keep opening up my fridge numerous times when all I need to do is open it once and be quick about it. Also, with the piles. This way I know I dont have to keep making numerous trips here and there when I can just go to one pile when finished and go through. The word of the day is “numerous” and that makes me tired. Just a suggestion, how about putting locking casters/wheels on your portable table. This way it will be easy to move and lock down when need to. Have fun stitching.
The new shelf organization looks very pretty, it's going to look so great in the background of your videos! And so colourful also! 😍 It was very nice to see the variety of craft projects you've been working on along the years, there are so many haha! 🤭 And congratulation on the monetization, I'm so happy for you! 😊🎉
Thank you! I was definitely surprised by how many projects got unearthed, haha, ended up throwing them all in that box just because it was a bit scary! But I will persevere, and definitely not just keep putting things in there until it completely overflows...👀

Thanks for the tour. Can you come and do my craft space now? Even if everything had a place my issue is not putting things away when they arrive in the mail or I bring it home from the store. The other source of the chaos is when I actually finish a cross stitch project, and don't put the extra floss, pattern etc away. The craft table has stacks of stuff on it that aren't putting themselves away.
That last part, oof, I am terrible for clearing up after a project too. But I'm hoping making it all pretty will help inspire me to keep it that way, especially now that all I need to do is put the drops back on the rings and any not-quite-fully-finished-objects into the undershelf basket. I think knowing where you tend to fall down and trying to build in ways around it is the big thing, like having half-used balls of yarn out prominently on display is probably not something a lot of people would like but I know it'll help me make less mess!
A search for "under shelf hooks" should turn up a ton of the things all over Amazon and eBay. But do measure your shelves as they're available in lots of of sizes and you need to make sure they're going to fit! :)
