Title: "I cosplayed Tasha!"
Me: oh cool, like from Tasha's Hideous Laughter
Ginny: "Wizards of the Coast hired me to cosplay Tasha!"
Me: wait whAT
Right?? I was thinking maybe WotC should go in the title of the video somewhere 🤔 but I dunno! 😃
I read this as she said it
I wish I could like this, but it has 666 likes
I do as I must
JS_INJECTION you and me both :(
Meanwhile, the part I'm most impressed with is not Ginny's skill with a sewing machine (which IS impressive, don't get me wrong), but the unconditional support from her family. She is truly blessed to have parents who don't consider the fantasy genre either satanic or just plain stupid.
I was thinking the exact same thing. So blessed to have such a support system.
i was just about too comment that. this is one of the first videos ive watched from her besides the video she did with mark hulmes. but i have too say its simply amasing too see how much her familiy supports her dream and her talent. and my god she is talented. and a supportive familiy and friends only helps futher that :) simply amasing
Not just that, but also understanding that their daughter didnt chose a conventional job but made her dream come true from living of being a creator. Instead of hatingit and worrying about the future / a job offering health care supporting her in her creative work. That is even the most amazing part to me
Yea
"I can do math I play D&D". I don't know why but I found that line hilarious.
The various D&D streams available demonstrate that while most players can do math, some really can't.
@@SylviusTheMad you need to play SHadowrun if you really want to learn math
As they say, DnD is just Math but Skyrim 🤷🏻♂️
because playing DND doesn't mean your good at math
@@fairystail1 Nah, GURPS
Tell Wizards that I was on the fence about this new book, but if they are going to support the community, then I will support them and buy this book.
Seconded
Motion carries!!
Then it turns out every country outside the US had to wait for the book with no announcement of this. Wizards really does care about the community.
I bought the book and let me say, the content is all awesome and I highly recommend it
Here here
Oh my god, I can't think of anyone who deserves this more!! Congrats Ginny!!
I was about to comment this but it looks you already did
She is a real life bard. Charming and versatile.
What Brooke said. You put in the work and it's a beautiful cosplay! Wizards of the Coast got the best when they hired you to cosplay, Ginny. Great Job!
You never think how difficult this stuff must be until you watch a video like this. You gotta have a lot of patience for this. Great work
Yeah , I found this a really informative video about just how much effort goes into these projects. Big kudos from me.
What I love about this is that as the highest profile cosplayer who has actually been the first person to recreate Tasha’s look in real life, you will literally be the trendsetter for the physical look of this entire character for the whole game of D&D, which I think is so cool 😮 also Tasha is great and I can’t wait to pick up this book, she is definitely turning up in my home game as this mysterious witch who hires the party to collect ancient artifacts or something 😄
*Dark clip witch scenes of Tasha*
Cute Ginny's voice: It's done!
"Perhaps the gnome barbarian who has been living in my heart will be less ridiculous now."
*Mobey Anklecrunch, forest gnome barbarian of the path of the Ancestral Guardian, hefts his warhammer and shield:* "Who're you callin' ridiculous? Ahm tougher than any of those tall folks, especially that skinny bard in th' back who won't stop tauntin' the orcs!"
I realize you've probably completely forgotten about this comment, but I've got a path of the beast gnome barbarian in the works that I'm *so* excited for
So if Wizards of the Coast hired you to do this, does that make your cosplay one of the handful of cannon depictions of Tasha?
In any case, Congrats on an Awesome cosplay, Ginny!
*canon
@@michaelolz eh, Tasha can have a cannon depiction as well
Absolutely!
Yo "Back to the future" and "Scott Pilgrim vs the world". So on top of being a cosplay queen you also have amazing movie taste. Approved
The idea to use a waist cincher to keep all the belts in place is so good! It was awesome to see the process and the final result--you make a great Tasha and honestly I hope that lip look comes into fashion now, it's so fabulous
Your parents are SO adorable and supportive it makes me so happy
They HIRED you!!? Congrats!!
So happy for you Ginny, you look awesome
You can be HIRED to cosplay for dungeons and dragons! Wow Ginny, you have the life. Btw people are probably over it by now but I still LOVE your hair color. Owl bear hugs!
My wife plays a halfling barbarian bodybuilder called Nikolai. He’s got Russian accent and it’s freaking amazing.
Also your parents are amazing
Does he have an adoptive parent, that is a town guard?
That look of unrestrained glee in the beginning was adorable. On the topic of the book, I'm intrigued/hopeful on how deep that stuff goes. It comes out right after my birthday, so that'll be a fun post-birthday thing to dive into.
Wow! Your whole family are creative.
The final cosplay looks fantastic!
Your parents are amazing!! It was really cute when you were doing maths and you and your mum said 56 at the same time.
Amazing costume!!!
HOLY SHIT GINNY THIS IS SO COOL!!!!
Minor side note but I am IN LOVE with the round cat t shirt.
Huuuuge congrats, Ginny! This turned out INCREDIBLE, and watching your build was super fun (and taught me some more cosplay witchcrafts I can use for my own builds). Amazing as ever :D
Also, dont think we didn't spy Scott Pilgrim back there ;)
#1. Kudos. WotC should keep sponsoring talented cosplayers like you.
#2. Watching your process is great!
#3. Your parents getting involved... AWESOME!
#4. End result. Amazing!
Love that you can see she’s got back to the future playing on the TV in the background
LOL, as soon as you said you were "originally" going to do the photo shoot outside, I remembered the snow storm last week and thought "oh no, I hope this was before that..."
I guess not...
Still, the entire process turned out amazing and I loved the look and feel of it all, you really captured the character for me in so many ways and I'm sure Wizards is extremely happy with it (they better be)!!
This is just more proof that cosplayers are just plain magic.
I feel like this would've also been a perfect upload for Halloween.
Congratulations on being hired by WotC, well deserved
We had a gnome barbarian in my last campaign. She was delightful - I just had to homebrew her a greataxe that didn't impose disadvantage on small creatures. We named it "Kneebiter." :D
Mine just had two battleaxes
Talk about living the dream. Getting to portray characters from worlds you've read and roleplayed in for years for fun, but now you get to bring that character to life and you get PAID for it!
i love what they did with tasha in 5e having her become less evil but still same character just sher maturing now mentalky and overcoming her past flaws is just fun writing for real old characters
Anyone who says cosplayer just wear a outfit shall be pointed to this and similar videos of the hard work that goes in to creating those finished outfits and looks. Thanks for the look behind the curtain and giving life to a character I have known for decades :)
As someone who doesn't cosplay or have any creative ability whatsoever, it's really satisfying watching someone put so much effort and love into their craft. Great cosplay!
. . . This outfit makes me want to get into costuming and cosplay. My arts and crafts experience ended around 3rd grade. That necklace jewel looked painful though! Beautiful, but ouch!
That’s funny because I have a gnome barbarian kinda played with him once an my friend said no more he is too funny considering I did a high pitched voice like Elmo when I played him lol
'Elmo would like to rage, hahahaHahaha!'
Hell yeah! I did one for a one shot that used a maul... with reckless attack it no longer gave me disadvantage 😂😂
I'm currently playing a gnome fighter and he is my favorite boy
I'm imagining elmo saying extremely menacing phrases and my goodness it is hilarious.
@@BEEEES my favorite phrase was I’m going to rip out your eye an f*** the brain hole as Elmo it scared my friend
man whats it like having family members who support and take part in your interests
excellent dress, excellent “eat the rich” shirt :)
I love that this turned into a family build.
Tasha fits Ginny in many ways. This video is great for people getting into and figuring out how to make cosplays.
@3:26 "whatcha doing in here pretty" "you're pretty" 🥺🥺🥺 so cute
THIS TURNED OUT SO SO GOOD!! Its so impressive what you were able to produce with so few ref pics, i seriously love the look of this build
(I also have the same CUTSEW hat pattern but never had a reason to use it, now i just want to make a wizard hat for the hell of it)
This is one of your best videos to date. It is abundantly apparent the amount of effort you put into it and the faithful representation of the cosplay process, which is one of the main reasons I watch your channel. It was really smart of WotC to hire you to do this, you did a great job! I love the final look and as a bonus there was this added wholesomeness in bringing your family into the project.
12:48 I KNEW I remembered seeing this pattern somewhere! That’s the one I got today to make the pouches! I am quite intimidated since I am not a good sew-er AT ALL and the one time I tried to make a coat years ago failed miserably. I can hand sew reasonably well but machine sewing & patterns are very hard for me.
More so since my grandma passed a few years ago and she was the ultimate crafter! (apart from being a really cool grandma) Sewing, patterns, embroidery, cross stitch, knitting, all the crafts! I miss not being to ask her questions about sewing & patterns, seeing her for the holidays, just having her around cause she was super cool.
The pouches are the smallest project I can reasonably start with and if I can get over my nerves going crazy frazzled just thinking about trying to do this, we should be good! My mom says to just go one step at a time cuz if you look at the whole thing at once then you will get overwhelmed really quick.
The costume looks amazing and I absolutely do not want to downplay how awesome it is that you get to work with WOTC on this. But I loved the completely wholesome moment of Josh walking in on you
I love that your parents are so supportive and enthusiastic about helping you with this project. That cauldron came out amazing and the set work really helps bring it all together! 😄
7:17 Back to the Future!
...part 1.
8:20 Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Wizards of the coast couldn’t have picked a better person to make this character come to life.
“For drama reasons” my explanation for everything
They are lucky to have you as a public " Face" for Tasha , you did an amazing job , and l appreciate you sharing the journey with us. Wonderful job , Top Marks. Again they are lucky to have you.
Goodness, this is why I love dnd youtubers
This is so freaking cool, and I am weirdly touched by how supportive your parents are
I loved how your whole family helped.
I think your skillet will never fail to amaze me all the details put into this costume is just incredible
You truly are a witch with a needle and thread. Everything you make cones out amazing.
Ginny this is freakin' amazing!! I am so excited about this new book, and I LOVE your outfit! It shows all the care and attention you put into your work 💜
kudos to Papa Di for that big arse cauldron!
I love the fact that she was watching Scott pilgrim vs the world. It’s like my favorite movie!!!! Also congratulations on the deal from wizards!!!!
I'd really love to see a Scott Sterling movie! That man's face is like a brick wall! A brick wall that feels pain and cries a lot!
Scott *Pilgrim*. But a Scott Sterling movie would be hilarious!!!
Isn't Scot Sterling the Studio C character that gets a volleyball to the face consistently?
@@quinnsinclair7028 yes, I watch to much Scott pilgrim vs. the world and studio c and mix them up all the time lol
TWO new videos?! In the same week?!
YES! YES PLEASE!
Also, the costume looks DOPE AF! The hat, especially, looks rad!
99% accurate, short of actually being Tasha. Spot on, considering her personality is the type to become a demi-God on a whim.
You've had several "I've finally made it!!" moments in your life/career, but this has to be the new cherry on top, if not a whole 'nother layer to the dang cake! You just leveled up in Celebrity...
Hundreds of thumbs up for finding practical solutions to potential problems, all on the fly!
And how awesome is it that your parents not only support you, but are crafty themselves!
"I can do math, I play D&D" most relatable thing I've heard someone say in a while 🤣
that cape is everything
That cosplay is really great. Well done Ginny.
Also, your dad is super adorable, building the cauldron while wearing this retro-y headset.
he was on a work call!! hahaha
It’s so awesome you have parents supportive of your hobby. My parents burned my D&D books when I was a kid during the satanic panic.
I adore that your parents are so involved and helpful. It brings me much joy
I'm so excited for you!! I didn't even know you could be hired to do a cosplay, but you're the perfect person for this and I love that you were able to bring us along for it.
Also you and your fiance are so cute!
I have a gnome barbarian in one of my games and she is my favorite character!
Wow. I’ve never watched a full cosplay creation video before and I’m floored by the amount of work that goes into this. Incredible. The final result - both outfit and backdrop etc. - were stunning.
Congrats! I take my hat off to you ;-)
Congrats! And kudos to your parents for all their help!
that is so awesome that your parents are helping out
It's amazing how you were able to put that all together from just one or two pictures. You did an amazing job. That brooch looks like it's really uncomfortable, jabbing into your neck.
My wife and I have both been talking about trying to cosplay our dnd characters and this video showed more of the process of designing and making cosplays than any I've seen before. Thank you so much!
"Whatcha doin in here, pretty?" 🥰 SO CUTE
The experience of watching a Ginny Di video is trying to like the video every few minutes because she did something cool.
It’s so cool to see your parents helping you on this ❤️ they seem super fun! Great build!
First off, congratulations on WotC gig.
Second, I commend the craft and detail of the outfit. Seeing the play by play reminded me of old Halloween costumes my mom and I used to make.
Third, love that your parents were involved and also have a crafty side to them as well. Your mom is beautiful so I hope her confidence grows.
Fourth. That dedication to the craft. I saw that pendant kind of poking at your neck near the end and all I could think was this woman is committed. Talk about suffering for the art.
Loved loved loved the video.
Your dedication scares me. Thankyou.
Also I love that you took a dance-break with the Scott Pilgram movie. It made me laugh
I love seeing all the little workarounds and underpinnings to make this costume come to life! Well done, and congrats on the dream job, Ginny!
Ahhh Ginny this is so exciting!! And it came out AMAZING. Watching you figure this out was fascinating, I kept going back over sections to make sure I caught everything. And the sections with your parents (and pets) were adorable :) Thanks for taking us along!
I'm still wondering how you haven't got millions of subscribers already?! You are amazing, your content is SUBLIME and you put sooo much work into this! I wish more people would know about you! You're awesome! (And omg I was fangirling when you said Wizards of the Coast hired you to cosplay THE Tasha from Tasha's hideous laughter)
im watching a video of a talented creative person making a costume. i must be crazy about ginny! seriously, congratulations, you deserve it!
Holy crow you are SO GOOD at what you do. I’m so happy you got this opportunity!
I love how crafty and talented your parents are, I see that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree ^.^
"I can do math, I play D&D" Great quote!
You are so talented I am always spellbound, pun intended when I watch you put together a costume! So much patience.
Also, your family is awesome and I want to be adopted. I can't imagine that level of support and cooperation from my family for anything ever.
Thanks for sharing Ginny!
Wow way to bring Tasha to life! Phenomenal job! 👏 WoTC couldn't have chosen a better person for this!
i loved Xanathars guide for all his notes so can't wait for Tasha's book!
You look incredible in this look!
Great video, loved seeing a whole build.
The highlight has got to be the wholesome parents papermache with pets moment!
Great costume and congrats on the Wizards' sponsorship, well deserved you do great things for D&D in general. Bravo!
That was awesome and Olovee how she roped her mom and dad into helping. Keep up the amazing work!
Your work, amazing, your family being supportive and helping, wholesome
I'll be honest, that waist cincher belt thingy is super cute and I would be tempted to wear it on the daily. Great work on this costume. Congratulations on the commission.
The level of skill and dedication you have to your craft is just amazing. You're an inspiration, and I'm so happy that you're getting more and more recognition for the work you do!
Every day is a good day when Ginny Di comes to play.
GINNY THIS IS AMAZING OH MY GOD
YOU LOOK INCREDIBLE
Hell yeah, we Stan supportive helpful parents!
Movie choices in the background have been amazing!!!
6:29 love this fun little montage music!
"I would normally not cosplay a character who was on the cover of a book and appeared in a book 3 times" lol the shade on Tasha :D
The belt cincher came out amazing!
I just wanted to say that I've been coming back to this video constantly because it's just so chill. All of your videos are super relaxing and I enjoy just listening and watching you create. Much love! ❤
Absolutely flabbergasting. I made a passable Sokka costume once but other than that and some hand sewing here and there, I've no experience with this and so even knowing where to begin would just grind me to a halt.
Incredible final product, you look amazing.
