Nothing is wrong with your nose! Fragrance is so subjective and skin chemistry is a real thing; what smells beautiful to one nose could smell unappealing to another, and what blooms wonderfully on someone’s skin could just fall flat or go sour on someone else’s. It’s all part of the fun of the fragrance journey- finding the ones you love and the ones you can do without.
I just recently bought my husband The Dior Homme Intense on our cruise🚢 holiday and had to steal it.. I loved it so much I kept it for myself. It’s gorgeous. 😅😍🌟
The Parfum is definitely a designer masterpiece! However, I much prefer the Intense version as a more wearable fragrance in normal day to day. The new 2025 Parfum, although has been getting hate, is actually a great fragrance as well.
I actually want to try the 2025 version just out of curiosity. There has to be consideration taken for price point and "designer" category so I get that and yes, when you don't need to spend $350 and you are get ting a great fragrance then its worth every penny. This is why the line has done so well!! Just because there is something about the Parfum that doesn't work for me (or bothering my nose) it doesn't mean its not a great designer iris/leather. I agree! I like the Intense alot. I wish they would turn it all around and not market it as a male fragrance but rather just a unisex one but obviously we have "homme" in the name :) I will try the 2025 when I can.
I applaud you! You will find that there are more people that agree with you in your review of the Parfum. I own both and actually like the parfum but I LOVE the Intense. I also want to test the Parfum 2025. I have heard it’s a more intense version of the Intense. The more I watch your videos the more I hope you do not stop.

Absolutely nothing wrong with not liking something! I always try to see the positives even in the stuff that is not for me, but if I don’t enjoy wearing it, I just move on 😊
@ btw, did you ever smell these on a guy? Maybe the impressions change. I’ve always wondered how stuff is differently perceived when worn on different people.
@ I haven’t but I could totally see smelling it on a guy and thinking he really smells great! (I like the Intense btw and may get it). I think it’s nuts if they discontinue the Parfum - there’s such a following! (Maybe they plan to adjust the ambrette! lol 😂)

I’m cautiously curious about the 2025 version, though will be paying close attention at duty free outlets on my next few trips out of London as I’ll be keen to pick up a spare DHP lest the discontinuation rumours finally come true..

I agree with you that there’s something unusual about the iris note. I typically love powdery perfumes, but I bought the intense version for my husband, and the iris doesn’t smell natural to me either.

It's so silly to get all uppity with another persons feelings on a perfume as it's totally subjective and we all have different memories and noses anyway. I actually enjoy hearing another perspective that differs from mine because it helps me understand a perfume and what others pick up that maybe I do not. I am secure enough in my own nose and my own preferences that I could give a flying hoot what someone else thinks :o). The discontinuation of DHP was rumored since 2022, and I am absolutely stunned they actually discontinued it. DHP is the most sublimely beautiful designer fragrance (luckily I have 2 bottle back-ups). I am not hopeful for the "new version" & anything Mr FK will be rolling out for Dior.
Have you ever tried Harmonious by Bodicea the Victorious? It's been referred to as a Dior Homme Parfum with higher quality ingredients, but I can't speak to that as I am only familiar with the BDV! Ambrette does feature prominently in that one though so maybe you would feel similarly about it.

i have both of these Parfum, Intense and Homme Original (Cologne as well) ... am fine and don´t need any new 2025 reformulated version (the new bottle design looks terrible, like a clone)
Thanks Eloise! I have only tried the Parfum version. I like it, but I prefer it on my husband. Anne Lauren (RUclips) has put a lot of us onto Valentino Uomo Intense and most recently Fendi La Baguette. Both Iris & Leather with vanilla. I have a decant of La Baguette coming🤞
I don't know about Valentino Uomo but I was looking up Fendi Baguette the other day after hearing the Perfume Guy (Sebastian) talk about it in a new video. I will get a decant of that for sure :)
A stellar comparison Eloise. 🧡 Can't believe it took me this long to find your channel. Haven't been hearing good things about the newest DHP either. Some comparisons to Armani Code and something from Azzaro aren't good omens. 😄 Yet to try it myself...but I'm honestly not fussed. Feels like designer perfumery is in shambles atm. 😬 Appreciate this!

Dior seems to enjoy recycling and playing name games. They do the same thing with their Miss Dior line. Tbh, I think it's great marketing and helps them stay relevant

Both of these smell a lot better in the air than on paper. I hated these 2 fragrances at first but they grew on me and now I see them as masterpieces.

Its not as natural smelling as in other iris fragrances, I agree but I can see how the Intense is nice in the warmer weather!

Actually I am finding that alot of people prefer the Intense. Me too! Always appreciative of iris fragrances :)
