      Actually torque is something different form work.. Asal me work or torque k fomulae dikhne me ek jese hain mgr dono me force ek tarha ki nhi hoti Work done k liye force ka woh component chahiye hota h jo displacement ki direction me ho mtlb parallel component mgr torque mein woh component ata h jo perpendicular ho is wajah se dono ko alag hi mana jata h or joul nhi keh skte torque ko..

      Units are defined for "magnitude of a vector", which by itself is a scalar. So, the reason you can't use Joules for torque is because there is no consistent way of converting Newton-meters to Joules and vice versa.

      I don't think so because N m is dimensionally [ML2T-2] and torque is also dimensionally [ML2T-2]
