You do realize fire Mage(ignite build) and shadow priest bring different damage profiles right? Shadow will do a lot more overall damage than ignite in large AoE pulls. They bring the fire mage for the prio damage to burn down the larger hp mobs while the lower hp mobs are cleave down more so by the spriest… if gingi were to go flame strike build (which would slow down how fast they clear the dungeon) he would probably be matching the spriest overall dmg, but it’s not what they need.

First of all do they bring mage for the int buff and shadow is the most broken dps spec in the game.

@@RuthlesslyAmbitious actually that’s false, int buff it’s just a bonus. Theyre brought for the exact same reason as in S3, PRIO dmg. If you feel like listing off every other minor bonus for bringing them we could go all day. If buffs were such a huge deal then there wouldn’t have been more mistweavers clearing +30s and up than Druids…. Also if they wanted if they just wanted highest “overall” damage they could go flame strike build or frost and boost their overall to be equivalent to the shadow priest but that is not going to help them finish the key as quickly.

@@kasper1241 I’m just educating the uneducated. People only see numbers on a dps meter and don’t understand why it shows what it shows. Put a good destro lock in AA and they’re pulling 700k+ overall without Aug. doesn’t mean they’re broken.

Yes, Flamestrike is just padding dmg, the ignite build is way better in terms of dmg profile.

For high key push mages is needed for prio dmg, so no flamestrike. In pug world to dominate dmg meter flamestrike build will do more overall if tank is not complete scrub.
