  • Hike from Kandersteg to alpine hut refuge of Frundenhutte at 2500mtrs. Peering over Google earth, had seen a solitary hut perched on top of mountain on vertical ridge that skirt Oeschinen lake. Almost liked Eagle's nest and an unlikely of place since glaciers of Blüemlisalp, Oeschinenhorn, Fründenhorn and Doldenhorn hang menacingly on stone walls feeding the lake through dozen of streams.
Since a Saturday of July on 2022 was sunny and bright I went to Kandersteg valley. The normal route to hut which turned out to be a 150 years old refugee built by Swiss Alpine club (SAC) was closed due stostone fall, so i took another route which is as dramatic as lake. Access to this route just skirts a shear vertical wall of mountain. At one time the mountain would rain down volley of stones. Due to climate change permafrost has melted and most mountains in Alps are disintegrating since due to absense of snow ,stones are coming loose. Kandersteg village could be relocated in few decades since side of a giant mountain that looms over it like an ogre is supposed to come crashing down onto it.
I plodded 4 hours to reach hut at 2500mtrs that sits on edge of crumbling hanging glacier of Doldenhorn. Most climbers and hikers who come here stay overnight . But you have to book in advance. A 1500 mtr hike back to Kandersteg meant I arrived back in valley only by evening .

thank you very much I planned to go there and appreciate people sharing beautiful and useful hiking videos I now know how the white-blue trail (T4 alpine hiking officially) switzerland blue trails are tricky and can vary from family friendly to vertical rock climbing I'll bring my gloves to hang on the cable thanks and very nice video the lake wasn't so blue last time I went there (other side of the lake) the regular less difficult trail is indefinitely closed, there are giant block of rocks hanging above the forest on that side
