    Joe is an Amazing guitarist and composer! and an extremely cool cat! He deserves an entire issue dedicated to his solo career, with Alcatrazz and Joe Stump's Tower Babel. It's great seeing him get the recognition he deserves! Looking forward to all three of your new albums Joe! I will see you on tour!

      @john cash Yes, it is NOT an original style at all. It's called "neo-classical" for a reason. It's CLASSICAL music. Played really fast. On a guitar. With distortion.

      Obviously he has a similar style as Yngwie, just goes to show how Yngwie was groundbreaking and amazingly talented. Joe stump is great aswell. Problem is that whenever someone plays neoclassical people just goes 'urr yngwie clone' who cares? If it wasn't Yngwie it would have probably been someone else, neoclassical is so cool and fun to play. I also play neoclassical and just like Joe I don't care about trying to not be Yngwie, what I play is very similar to Yngwie lick (at least i'm trying lol) because he's the OG master and im thankful for him

      @@けあ-o5z It's pure badass balls-to-the-wall sound and feel. Yngwie is more fluid, but I really prefer Joe's raw feel. And, of course, his composing skills are unmatched. His last 5 albums are true gems.

      イングヴェイもジョーも根っこがロッカーなのは一緒やけど、イングヴェイはクラシックを感じ取った人で、ジョーは学び取った人って印象。どっちがいいかって事でもないけど、結局個人的にはイングヴェイになっちゃうんだよなー。まあ、ジョーがいなかったらいまのALCATRAZZはないからすごくありがたいと思ってるんやけどね。

    • @stonerawks9882
      @stonerawks9882 3 года назад +3

      You are extremely musically ignorant if you say that. You probably can't read nor sight read music.
      Joe's picking mechanic alone is not only different but more "complete" so to speak. Joe can play both ascending and descending notes by using pure economy due to the double slant and he has a bit more freedom on that regard, Yngwie can still pull it off with legato don't get me wrong but they have completely different approaches to make it work. COMPLETELY.
      Music composition is entirely different too, different phrasing and tempo choice, like Joe is almost in a genre of his own altogether. He tends to go for much darker sounds like those you hear in black metal but keeps it melodic so that he can fuse it well with neoclassical. You can especially hear this in his album The Dark Lord Rises.
      Yngwie plays neoclassical on hard rock/heavy metal.
      It's no secret that Joe is an Yngwie fan, but that doesn't mean he's a rip off. Someone plays in Phrygian therefore they ripped Yngwie. Come on man, be educated.

    • @stonerawks9882
      @stonerawks9882 3 года назад +5

      But it's no surprise really, you can see people commenting "Yngwie rip off" even under Jason Becker videos if you look well enough.
      To people like you every neoclassical artist who came after Yngwie is a rip off. It's funny how all blues players have been playing the same shit for a century and nobody bats an eye.

    • @nc1969
      @nc1969 3 года назад +1

      @@stonerawks9882 Very well said. There is room for more than ONE neo classical guitarist , just like there were many fine classical composers. Joe is one of the best there is

    • @stonerawks9882
      @stonerawks9882 3 года назад

      @john cash And yet you WILL occasionally see people who come up with abysmal comments like this one under Jason's videos.
      It's not uncommon at all.
      I'm just pointing out how the average metal enthusiast who hears harmonic minor/phrygian scales will yell YNGWIEEEEE, ELSE RIP OFF

    • @stonerawks9882
      @stonerawks9882 3 года назад +1

      @john cash Joe DOESN'T sound like Yngwie. In the slightest. The only thing that remotely connects them are eerie sounding scales. Show some respect.
      One actual Yngwie clone is Katsu Ohta, who is still an amazing guitar player mind you with some interesting melodies. But Joe sounds NOTHING like Yngwie. I'm sorry but this is a fact. Please try and understand music before judging artists.
