Doxford Barns - A Wedding Guide by Videographer Adam Chetter. Take A Look Around The Venue.

I’m Adam Chetter, a North East wedding videographer. Today, I want to share with you one of the most beautiful wedding venues I’ve had the pleasure of filming at - Doxford Barns in Northumberland. The venue is part of the Doxford Group portfolio of wedding venues which also includes Charlton Hall. I am lucky enough to be a recommended videographer at both of these venues.
Doxford Barns is located in the picturesque village of Chathill, in the heart of Northumberland. Nestled in rolling countryside, it’s just a short drive from the stunning Northumberland coast. The location offers a peaceful, secluded atmosphere, making it perfect for a relaxed and intimate celebration.
The barn itself dates back to the 19th century, originally part of a farm estate. It has been carefully restored to combine rustic charm with modern elegance. The blend of old and new provides a beautiful setting for any wedding.
There’s a great choice of stunning rooms where you can get ready for your big day. The bridal suite, with its exposed beams and light, airy feel, is perfect for the bride to prepare in. And for the groom, there’s a stylish and spacious room that’s equally ideal for getting ready with the groomsmen.
The ceremony takes place in a beautiful barn with rustic wooden beams and large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The bride or groom enters down a grand staircase, creating a dramatic and memorable entrance. It’s an elegant space that perfectly complements the couple’s love story.
After the ceremony, guests can enjoy reception drinks in the charming courtyard or the warm and welcoming bar area. The courtyard, surrounded by beautiful stone buildings, offers an ideal space for guests to mingle and relax. Meanwhile, the bar provides a cosy indoor option, making it perfect no matter what the weather’s like.
The wedding breakfast is served in the stunning barn, where the food is just as impressive as the surroundings. Doxford Barns offers an incredible selection of locally sourced dishes, all beautifully presented. Whether it’s a traditional three-course meal or something more contemporary, the quality and taste are always top-notch.
Doxford Barns has extensive grounds that offer fantastic opportunities for videography. One of my favourite spots is the picturesque lake, just a short drive away in the venue’s 4x4. It’s an ideal location for capturing some stunning shots of the couple, surrounded by nature and tranquillity.
As the evening sets in, the party moves into the beautiful barn once again, where the evening reception is held. The space is transformed into a lively and vibrant setting for dancing and celebration. The atmosphere is always full of energy, and it’s the perfect way to end the day on a high note.
