    thanks for this video. You forgot to explain the most important part of it. How can I save time by using a function that types dates in columns as much as I need?

      @@apple-a-day hi, Thanks for replying. I meant how can I write a function that automatically put in dates to those columns I want for example if we say I want to write down all days from July to August in column A2 to A64. But instead of writing down same function by myself, I apply a function that fills all columns.

    • @apple-a-day
      @apple-a-day  2 месяца назад +1

      @@pw-gamer2903 Ahh ok. I think I understand. I think the simplest way to do that would be to put the July 1 in the cell where you want the dates to start. Let's say that it's in cell C3 for example. So in the cell underneath you would just add a new formula and put in C3+1. Then copy that formula to every cell underneath. That should auto-generate the dates for you. Hope this helps!

    what if a sheet I have downloaded has the date in day/month/year format? How do I get Numbers to recognize it correctly and sort the sheet by date? When I try to sort it sees 06/12/2023 as June 12th but it's actually December 6th.

      Hi there, that's a good question. You could try changing your date settings within System Settings. If you can't figure it out please email me the downloaded spreadsheet that is causing you this problem and I'll see if I can get it to work. My email is appleadaychannel@gmail.com

Also I tried that already - if I change my system settings then it puts me on UK time also on the computer. I already found a work-around but I wish Apple would fix this. I copied and pasted into a Google sheet. Sorted just fine with no extra steps needed

    Thanks for the video! Is there a way to fill the table with the dates for every, say, Monday and Friday, without manually entering it each time? I tried to fill the first 3 cells with proper dates and then apply autofill, but unfortunately it just repeats the same entry again and again…

    • @apple-a-day
      @apple-a-day  2 месяца назад

      Hi there! If I understand your question correctly, you can put put the first Monday date in and then for the Friday just reference the Monday cell and add 4.
      eg. Monday is Cell A1
      then in Friday's cell enter =A1+4
      Then when you change Monday's date the Friday date will always be 4 days later.
      Hopefully that's what you were looking for. Thanks for watching!

    Hello! Thanks for this!! I’m curious if there’s a way to create a calendar that starts on a different day than it normally would.. on a Wednesday. I tried editing the calendar that is offered on the Apple Numbers app but can’t seem to get it to work!

    • @apple-a-day
      @apple-a-day  5 месяцев назад

      Hi there! I'm not certain that I follow. Are you suggesting to start a calendar month on a Day of the Week other than the true date in which the month would actually start? Or are you trying to set up a generic calendar that's not based on any real date?

      @@apple-a-day well, I’m working on creating my own calendar for budgeting but I get paid on Wednesdays haha. So I wanted my calendar to be viewed Wednesday to Tuesday left to right if that makes sense! I was messing with it a bit and I think there has to be a way to do this but I haven’t figured it out yet lol
      Ideally, I would have a base calendar that is set up that way and be able to duplicate it and change the month and year, and all of the days would adjust accordingly.

    How do you show the current date in the top right corner of a sheet, that automatically gets updated each day ? That’s the only thing I want to know.

    • @apple-a-day

    • @apple-a-day
      @apple-a-day  6 месяцев назад +1

      Unfortunately there are no built in Keyboard shortcuts for either adding the DATE() or TIME() functions. This might be possible using AppleScript but that is far too complicated to be answered here.
      If you meant a way to quickly display the current date, that can be done with the TODAY() function
      The current time can be displayed with the NOW() function but you would have to change your formatting to only show the TIME and not the DATE
      Hope this helps

    Я посчитал количество дней между датами. Как перевести результат в месяцы, в годы?

    • @apple-a-day
      @apple-a-day  Месяц назад +1

      Hello! If you wanted covert days to months you could use this equation:
      =A1÷(365÷12)
      A1 is the number of days. This will give you the number of months based on the average number of days in a month.
      To conver to years this would work:
      =A1÷365
      Hope this helps.

    What formula produces consecutive dates for a month or week?

    • @apple-a-day
      @apple-a-day  5 месяцев назад +2

      Do you mean that one cell would have one date and then another cell would be the next date? If that's the case you could just use the following formula:
      =A2+1
      Put that in each cell and it wall always add a day.

      Hello, it looks like you're using an Excel formula in Numbers. Numbers doesn't understand the @ symbol unfortunately. This is the Implicit Intersection Operator. I'm not sure what the equivalent of that symbol would be in Numbers - I'm not really an Excel user. Sorry I can't be of more help.
