They made me think. I was a Christian hick when I first heard Tool. Now, I'm me. Tool is for thinkers or those with the desire to begin thinking; they're motivation. You can make a person listen to their music, but you can't make them hear it. Maybe it's just me, but if the lyrics (and somehow the music) weren't as perfectly ambiguous as is, Tool wouldn't matter. Tool is the Carl Sagan of the music world.
This makes so much sense. I had several friends try to get one friend into Tool - she wasn't hearing it. Years later, I tried to have conversations with this same person about what information I found, about the self and about the world around us - the state of our society, how we've all been duped, what's REALLY going on in the world, and what REALLY matters, and she didn't want to hear that either. I haven't talked to her...well, it's been just about since when you wrote your initial comment. I don't think am missing anything.
Benjamin to them since 91/92 seen them live 6 times and they killed it every single time.. I've been in more pits than I can remember but when they played Ozzfest 95 DeerCreek Amphitheater was the best I've ever witnessed..🤔😲😍 Loved it..👍💕🔥😉💀🤘
Tool is just shy of Perfect. I just don’t get it!! Why can’t people see how incredibly talented and necessary they are? They have to be the greatest rock band that ever existed or ever will exist. Please tell me I’m not the only one who feels this; I know now how girls feel at Michael Jackson concerts or every Beatle maniac that existed. If our world can’t recognize the brilliance that TOOL has been offering us since 95, then I don’t want to live in a world like this.
Shane McDermit shit before tool I never really listened to music I heard stinkfist for the first time I became addicted and when I say addicted I mean addicted I can go days without tool but when I do when I start listening to tool again I go on a tool marathon for who knows how long I can't kill tool
They're one of the most successful rock bands in history. Their albums consistently chart near the top. They've won 4 Grammy awards. Why the f are you going on about people not giving them attention / appreciating them / recognizing their talent?
Not really imo. It sounds really good here - and Maynard gets the note on the "GOOD" part of "Goodbye" like the album version, which is unusual - but there are better screams than this, including from Maynard himself.
@@DM-il1hf After MJK had Covid 4 times I'm grateful he hasn't had any lingering respiratory or vocal issues and has continued singing in 3 bands for more than 30 years.
Is it just me, or does this look almost exactly like their performances today? God, it's like their so fond of stasis, they haven't even changed the stage design in a decade. Still, though, I love this song.
These guys were meant to play together.
the goold old epic gigs, 96' - 01' was tools best period, cant stand the fact I missed it :(
thumbs up if you agree
probably my favourite tool song ever
First song I 🎵 heard by Tool never looked 😅😅😅Back

So pretentious
This is why they named themselves TOOL. As a TOOL to reach the next level
Jesus Christ, how pretentious are you?

Arguably the greatest scream of all time

Maynard was on fire for 10 years. 1993= Undertow, Aenima, Mer de Noms, Laterallus 2003= 13th Step.
He sounds killer on the FU tours too. Post Covid! 🤘

GOOD BYE

Agreed but Tool formed in 1991. First album released in 1993. They were playing Sober live in 1991!
Agreed
Dude if you think their stage show hasn't changed/gotten better, you need to see ANY video from 06-13...
right next to the coca cola arena

♪♪♪♪♪♪!!!!!!!!!!!!
i knew maynard would have back problems. his spine is so screwed up now from all the crouched over bending in the 90s.
I noticed he didn't have the best posture and hunched his shoulders a bit way back in the day. I do the same thing lol.
Damn this was in Albany NY right after 9/11 happened.
