I still have demons to tackle, and don't consider myself a reborn just yet. Everyday I find myself closer to Jesus then the day before. Just like the lyrics, I was running blind, into the unknown, I believed that as long as I was a good person, God would accept me into Heaven. But, He helped me to realize that I was a sinful person, just like everyone else. But, He was willing to forgive me. Now, here I am, 31 years later, I can’t believe how much sin I commit every day. He knew I would still be like this today, but, He says “Come to me, my son, don’t you know I still love you?” I am so grateful that he still forgives me (1 John 1:9), He promised that He would never leave you, or forsake you, no matter what you’ve done, because He loves you with an everlasting love. He is your loving father! Thank you, Lord Jesus!

Hey guys, when are you coming out with some more music? I love your music and i love listening to them all the time. I even have my husband listening to your music. I love hard rock music. My husband never liked it until he meet me. Know he can’t get enough. Your music is touching and you always sing to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Believe me when i say that when i play your songs someone always asks me who you are and when I tell them they can’t believe that music like this is Christian music. Reaching out to generation’s after generations with your music is the best way to start. Saving even one soul is worth it all cuz your lyrics have a good and inspiring message that Jesus loves them and He died for them and He’s coming back. So many listen to music and being able to get the word of God out some how to there souls that are crying out for help this is the best place to start. Thanks again for your words of encouragement and music that touches so many for what ever we go through out life. Your music reminds us not to give up on God that is bigger than are pain. To hold on to God’s grace and His love and that God will never leave us nor forsake us. Because of who God is and what He has done for me I can get up in the morning and face my day head on. These guys, TFK, Pillar, and Kutless are among my favorites. Though if you want to get into some real metal- bands like Demon Hunter, War of Ages, and Becoming the Archetype are among my favs.
I love this band and in my opinion they are very underrated. I'm also a fan of Disciple, TFK, Skillet, Sonic Flood (their older harder songs), and Decyfer Down. Also, Pillar was awesome !!

I used to think what Rojas went through proved that god was the only way to go because for some of us we have no choice but to turn to god. However, after 10 years as a born again Christian, I am now an atheist. I have conquered crystal meth, have been homeless for three years, am alienated from my family (working on that,) and lost all of my friends. I have had some stormy days on the meth and off of it. That's not a flatline or anything, which Rojas had, but I have felt pretty worthless. This time around (I had a dramatic conversion experience originally,) I sought all the secular books I could find and quotes by secular thinkers also helped me. I am an atheist.
AccountWasHacked Great, there is a lot of peace on the other side of god. WIthout prayer or a relationship with god I have gotten what I needed. I build myself up and don't look down on myself. I help other people and I do good things not because someone threatens me with punishment or makes me feel ashamed if I don't, but because it is the right thing to do. I don't go to church. SOme churches are full of hypocrites, douche bags and the pastors are not always good, it gets boring and takes up a lot of your time. I don't pray either, but encourage myself with the knowledge that it usually gets better anyway. I look at the positives in life, and don't harbor hate in myself like I used to as a Christian. I am fine with LGBTQ rights and people, whereas before I would probably preach to them. It is quite possible it's a genetic thing. I haven't read up on it lately but I read that a study found that it was. And I read a lot of books. I love books now. As a Christian there were some safe books to read that I would label demonic and not read. With less superstition comes more peace and a new perspective. When I die, what happens? Well, every major religion seems to have some form of afterlife or heaven. That tells me that some of them must be wrong. Christianity is just one of many religions promising eternal life and claiming exclusive access to god. When I die, I could delude myself with the heaven of the bible, but I know that Islam has a heaven and the Buddhists have a way to live again as a person if we do well now. It's all a crock of shit. lol So I accept the fate of all animals: I die. Which sucks because life is so precious. But at least when I am dead I am not suffering in any way, as this world tends to do to us.
AccountWasHacked Yeah, that's right it was. As of today it is viewed as genetics. Either way, in psychological circles it's not viewed as a mental illness, whether it is a mental thing or not. I relate that to you as a psych major myself. Do I love Christians? Of course. I love people. As a Christian it was easy to be exclusionist because of other people's behaviors. We used to call it "love the sinner, hate the sin." But I don't know that the majority of Christians get that idea down with 100% accuracy. I certainly strived for it. I have seen the hateful side of many Christians, on the street talking to them, on RUclips in comments sections (lol,) in videos on RUclips, in the media, at actual churches, etc. I hate evil. What we think evil is and is not are radically different between us atheists and you Christians/religious folk. I do not hate Christians, I hate what part of the group is often up to. I hate the evil that I see. Just like you guys should be hating the sin and not the person. Atheists can be hateful too. I don't think you can pin the hate thing on one or the other group but on both groups. The more educated you are on your bible, the better you are at exercising your morality. The more I learn about humanism, secular viewpoints and skepticism, the better off I am in many respects, and one of those is morality. Though, instinct does prove to help me out in most situations. Sorry that was so long. :)
AccountWasHacked I justify it by the good that is within me. There is bad within me. I also follow a simple but powerful maxim: Minimize harm and maximize happiness (for myself and others.) I like to live by the golden rule, though sometimes it causes my difficulties from the cynic and the cagey. I cherry pick what I like about the bible and the Buddhist scriptures. I also make wise choices without those sets of books. When something requires intelligent pondering in order for there to be the most good done and the least (or hopefully none, usually,) I like to think the matter over as long as I need. But even if I had to decide quick on those issues, usually my gut instinct about what is right and that maxim save the day. What you have in the bible is also in the Koran, the Buddhist gospel, the Vedic scriptures. WHat is that? Common sense morality often times with scare tactics behind it so that the less ethically inclined people (let's face it, many of them are mentally ill somehow, not all) will stick to good. It is only a bad person that needs a book to teach him/her all their morals, and in most cases threatening them if they disobey. I think the stuff I have been doing recently, which is handing out money and food to homeless people and talking to them and memorizing where they hang out and trying to befriend some of them is actually the kind of unconscious ethics I am talking about. The human brain is one that needs others. In the case of the actual bad people? They could benefit from a list as short as possible of what is _rational_ and good to do. They should be given better and more extensive access to therapists and medicines if they need them. The bible is not needed, neither is the Koran. We know killing is wrong. We know stealing is wrong, but if you're homeless some days that may be your only option to find food. Oops. So think hard is what I do and what I recommend. Morality, as in the case of the theft of food, is not black and white, but is very complicated and nuanced sometimes. What psychologists know about morals is that they are somewhat fluid, and it takes critical thinking to execute them properly. YOu may say, well you're going through a lot more trouble than I am, my bible's right here and it defines good and bad. Well, your god requires death. He is a sicko and a genocidal maniac who changes his mind for no good reason. There are just so many bad examples of fairy tale stories, that admittedly paint good moral lessons sometimes. Yet, there is a lot in the bible I don't need to read about. I just do it usually. MOrality will "evolve" too. As our world changes, so must our morality. Probably not by a whole lot, but it may.

I love this band and in my opinion they are very underrated. I'm also a fan of Disciple, TFK, Skillet, Sonic Flood (their older harder songs), and Decyfer Down. Also, Pillar was awesome !!

I used to think what Rojas went through proved that god was the only way to go because for some of us we have no choice but to turn to god. However, after 10 years as a born again Christian, I am now an atheist. I have conquered crystal meth, have been homeless for three years, am alienated from my family (working on that,) and lost all of my friends. I have had some stormy days on the meth and off of it. That's not a flatline or anything, which Rojas had, but I have felt pretty worthless. This time around (I had a dramatic conversion experience originally,) I sought all the secular books I could find and quotes by secular thinkers also helped me. I am an atheist.

AccountWasHacked Great, there is a lot of peace on the other side of god. WIthout prayer or a relationship with god I have gotten what I needed. I build myself up and don't look down on myself. I help other people and I do good things not because someone threatens me with punishment or makes me feel ashamed if I don't, but because it is the right thing to do. I don't go to church. SOme churches are full of hypocrites, douche bags and the pastors are not always good, it gets boring and takes up a lot of your time. I don't pray either, but encourage myself with the knowledge that it usually gets better anyway. I look at the positives in life, and don't harbor hate in myself like I used to as a Christian. I am fine with LGBTQ rights and people, whereas before I would probably preach to them. It is quite possible it's a genetic thing. I haven't read up on it lately but I read that a study found that it was. And I read a lot of books. I love books now. As a Christian there were some safe books to read that I would label demonic and not read. With less superstition comes more peace and a new perspective. When I die, what happens? Well, every major religion seems to have some form of afterlife or heaven. That tells me that some of them must be wrong. Christianity is just one of many religions promising eternal life and claiming exclusive access to god. When I die, I could delude myself with the heaven of the bible, but I know that Islam has a heaven and the Buddhists have a way to live again as a person if we do well now. It's all a crock of shit. lol So I accept the fate of all animals: I die. Which sucks because life is so precious. But at least when I am dead I am not suffering in any way, as this world tends to do to us.
AccountWasHacked Yeah, that's right it was. As of today it is viewed as genetics. Either way, in psychological circles it's not viewed as a mental illness, whether it is a mental thing or not. I relate that to you as a psych major myself. Do I love Christians? Of course. I love people. As a Christian it was easy to be exclusionist because of other people's behaviors. We used to call it "love the sinner, hate the sin." But I don't know that the majority of Christians get that idea down with 100% accuracy. I certainly strived for it. I have seen the hateful side of many Christians, on the street talking to them, on RUclips in comments sections (lol,) in videos on RUclips, in the media, at actual churches, etc. I hate evil. What we think evil is and is not are radically different between us atheists and you Christians/religious folk. I do not hate Christians, I hate what part of the group is often up to. I hate the evil that I see. Just like you guys should be hating the sin and not the person. Atheists can be hateful too. I don't think you can pin the hate thing on one or the other group but on both groups. The more educated you are on your bible, the better you are at exercising your morality. The more I learn about humanism, secular viewpoints and skepticism, the better off I am in many respects, and one of those is morality. Though, instinct does prove to help me out in most situations. Sorry that was so long. :)

How do you justify morality?
AccountWasHacked I justify it by the good that is within me. There is bad within me. I also follow a simple but powerful maxim: Minimize harm and maximize happiness (for myself and others.) I like to live by the golden rule, though sometimes it causes my difficulties from the cynic and the cagey. I cherry pick what I like about the bible and the Buddhist scriptures. I also make wise choices without those sets of books. When something requires intelligent pondering in order for there to be the most good done and the least (or hopefully none, usually,) I like to think the matter over as long as I need. But even if I had to decide quick on those issues, usually my gut instinct about what is right and that maxim save the day. What you have in the bible is also in the Koran, the Buddhist gospel, the Vedic scriptures. WHat is that? Common sense morality often times with scare tactics behind it so that the less ethically inclined people (let's face it, many of them are mentally ill somehow, not all) will stick to good. It is only a bad person that needs a book to teach him/her all their morals, and in most cases threatening them if they disobey. I think the stuff I have been doing recently, which is handing out money and food to homeless people and talking to them and memorizing where they hang out and trying to befriend some of them is actually the kind of unconscious ethics I am talking about. The human brain is one that needs others. In the case of the actual bad people? They could benefit from a list as short as possible of what is _rational_ and good to do. They should be given better and more extensive access to therapists and medicines if they need them. The bible is not needed, neither is the Koran. We know killing is wrong. We know stealing is wrong, but if you're homeless some days that may be your only option to find food. Oops. So think hard is what I do and what I recommend. Morality, as in the case of the theft of food, is not black and white, but is very complicated and nuanced sometimes. What psychologists know about morals is that they are somewhat fluid, and it takes critical thinking to execute them properly. YOu may say, well you're going through a lot more trouble than I am, my bible's right here and it defines good and bad. Well, your god requires death. He is a sicko and a genocidal maniac who changes his mind for no good reason. There are just so many bad examples of fairy tale stories, that admittedly paint good moral lessons sometimes. Yet, there is a lot in the bible I don't need to read about. I just do it usually. MOrality will "evolve" too. As our world changes, so must our morality. Probably not by a whole lot, but it may.
