I agree, my interpretation of it is that Bibidi did and didn't create him, as in he performed the magic in which to create Buu's gum like body, but Buu already existed in an immaterial like form before that, because the kaioshins seem to have only known about Buu when Bibidi summoned him, he only became a crisis until his summoning, not before Bibidi, which tells me that Buu just wasn't around before Bibidi did his magic or at least wasn't in a physical form for people to identify him and connect the destructions he caused to him, Bibidi even calls Buu his creation and say's it directly to him. I don't believe its possible or at least valid for Toriyama to retcon this since we have Bibidi directly telling Buu to his face " I am the one who created you" So I personally think that it can work both ways, where Bibidi provided the means for Buu to exist in a physical body, but before that he existed as a djinn which is a smoke like genie being with lots of powers (hence the the dbz manga title "The Djinn awakens" and Buu's genie like clothing) which also makes the idea of him existing time immemorial make more sense as well, since I don't believe he could exist before the universe and have a human like appearance with clothes and emblems signs of a culture etc, unless he's a god and from a society of gods or something. @@GorshFlytgear Again, no one found him and imprison buu after all that time? I'm.pretty sure, if King Freaking Cold knew about him running around, then they should as well, tracked him and imprisoned him. Or contacted by the Kai's. Far as I'm concerned this guy should have no business with Buu.
He's basically a universal necessity seeing as how he appears after consuming so much negative energy and was probably created by whomever created the universe to to keep the balance between negative and positive energy, he appears when negative goes haywire, if Zeno is at the top of the god hierarchy then he's probably the one who created him, that's my best guess
i feel like well before the Kaioshin and Hakaishin existed, Xeno (or the Grand Priest) created Buu as a playmate (a best friend) that had a little more durability than his usual toys of the universe, but just like Toriyama-Sensei's retcon he became wild and uncontrollable over time exploring planets of the universe being exposed to probably several asshole mortal races who didn't want to share their pudding, then after just being lost in the universe, after cycles of napping and destruction, the kaioshin and hakaishin were created to forge a balance of power in the universe, eventually Bibidi wanted selfish control over the realm of the kaioshin and somehow came across a slumbering Buu and cast a spell on him, turning him into Majin Buu. there.
Excellent points. Moro could be older than Bibidi. Maybe Moro DID create Kid Buu himself, or found a way to corrupt him. & Its not really a retcon if Toriyama mentioned the original origin of Kid Buu. He's just adding to that element, not changing it per say.
I like this version better. It gives Buu another layer and plays with your imagination. Maybe he wasn’t always evil. Maybe he didn’t always look the way he does. I don’t know but it’s fun to speculate.
I've seen both good and bad retcons but those retcons usually had one thing in common : THEY HAD A PURPOSE. Retconing Buu's origin in an interview without further explanation or apparent reason as to why just creates another incoherence (not the biggest one we've had since, sadly).
i find the retcon to be much more interesting, cuz clearly magic normaly can be overcome by massive power, but most of the time it's the other way around with buu, his magical powers and properties outclassing the powerful pounding from the crew
I like the retcon. It makes more sense. As being this ancient primordial force. Doesn't fit Bibidi being able to magically create something that strong when he himself isn't anywhere near there.
Majin Buu pure is one of my favorite characters. He looks badass and is nearly indestructible. I like the idea of him being sorta like living rubber or gum.
With Buu's involvement (however minor it might be) in Toyotaro's current manga story arc, I'm hoping that Moro does indeed have something to do with Pure Buu's creation. Maybe he made Pure Buu out of the Genki that he's been shown to be able siphon and harness for himself, and this is partially why Pure Buu was defeated by the Genkidama, since it basically "absorbed him" into its gripping turbulent energies.
Interesting concept that Moro may have created Buu. As for the whole "Bibidi having created Majin Buu" thing, perhaps the Kais simply were under the impression that he created Buu because the first time they witnessed Buu, he was with Bibidi.
I think Zeno could have had him created to be a friend. I mean the only other immortal child character I can think of that's existed as long as Buu is Zeno. That plan went up crap creek, so it's likely Zeno was trying to find playmates until he eventually found Goku.
both stories can work together. as we know the supreme kai is a very new kai and the origin story of majin buu could have been mistold from generation to generation. sort of like the game telephone.
I am really amped about this Moro character. I love how he brings a different dynamic in terms of his powerset and the things that make him dangerous are much different than what made Broly and Jiren a dangerous foe to Goku and Vegeta. As far as Bui goes I think it would be cool if Moro was the warlock Mage character that granted bibiddi his magical powers and both him and his son were just henchmen of Moro.
I like that he was summoned rather than created it gives his origin a mysterious vibe to it....it also allows for deeper character development...it be cool if he was a protagonist on some sort of planet that some how tapped into ki power then was corrupted or something you get the drift he would have a more in depth story line than someone just creating him.... But i love buus character and can't wait to see uub reach his potential to see how strong he will get because i think uub would surpass the saiyans the only human to do so...
Yeah, I’d love some sort of quick explainer why most of the gods don’t recognize buu or what he is, and why king cold would. Just a line would be fine. I can’t imagine they don’t explain something in this new arch after they pull the grand supreme kai out of buu. That’s bound to cause a transformation of some sort. If anyone will know what buu is, it’s grand supreme kai!
So one theory I’ve heard that I’m kinda mixed on is that buu is a sort of Proto-GoD like a rough draft made by the angels or some other primordial force. After realizing that his power and actions were uncontrollable, it was decided to lock him away and swing more towards what we know now to be how the gods work
I literally almost dipped when you brought up the Beerus thing because I thought you were going to bring up some good theory material or something instead of throwing out the most obvious answer.
Buuhan was by far the strongest Buu. Followed by Buutenks, Kid Buu Buucolo, Super Buu, Evil Buu, Fat Buu. This is how I’ve interpreted the order, but Buuhan is definitely the strongest villain of Z.
dmario washington one could argue to the point that it would make sense. Like this: absorbing any life form of lower power level than buus would be a hinderance to buus power level. Refer to when Goku needed a fusion candidate when gohan was out of the question, and Hercule was an option. It’d be very similar to that. If the absorbee was weak, it would lower the absorbers power level. So one could argue that when kid buu absorbs the kais, it actually lowered his power level, instead of increasing it. Thus, making kid buu the most powerful form (aside from buu+gotenks+gohan of course).
MAIN SATIRIST Evil =\= Strength. The fact that kid buu can be manipulated has no bearing on his strength or power levels in and of itself. It’s not like evil gives people some kind of power boost like you’re implying. It’s literally the same thing you’re saying about kid buus recklessness. Recklessness/chaos =\= powerful. There’s no power level boost for being chaotic either. If that were the case, then there’d be no arc after Frieza. Besides, why didn’t buu turn into Kid buu after the first separation? Other than plot purposes, there’s no logic in it. There should have been no “evil buu” form. But a plots gotta do what a plots gotta do. If kid buu was the first and original form, he should have been the one to appear, not “evil buu”. It can also be argued since KB has no control over himself, there’s no tactics or strategy involved with his fighting. It’s all reactionary and instinctual. Which I think you can agree with. But that also means that KB was kicking peoples asses by sheer power alone, until he got bored and blew shit up to move on. So again, to my first comment: why would it be unreasonable to assume that absorbing the kais diluted KB power level?
It would b interesting if they did something like , mayb pure good energy couldn't b created so while zeno created the universe an equal and opposite energy needs to b created and over time the energy took form of a being and maybe also got diluted (as kid Buu isn't on uniersal level ) but it would make an interesting story .. and maybe creating more potential buu's in the multiverse
I think Kid Buu was the original God of Destruction of Universe 7, after all it fits the description very well, Buu goes on massive rampages and then goes into a long hibernation, not unlike Beerus. There had to have been some other destroyer before Beerus because Whis suggests that Goku would be the destroyer after Beerus, which means a destroyer can die or retire, wich also means someone may have been Destroyer befor Beerus, and my guess is Kid Buu.
Question. Since it's been stated before that supreme kais literally grow on trees (or at least fruits from a divine tree(s)), why hasn't shin or kibito done something to cultivate more kais?
Hopefully Toriyama or Toei doesn't forget about the Namekian Book of Legends. It has so much clouds of mystery surrounding it, I would love to have an in-depth look at it. Like maybe Zalama created it ? Who knows
Good question, tying it to Moro. It's entirely possible Buu was created for something else entirely or possibly by mistake. Then, as a new life form, "life happened" and thus he began rampaging. I think it'd be interesting if Buu has an original creator/master and purpose akin to Cerberus purposed with guarding the gates of Hades. In theory, that master could return and reclaim control over Buu. A powerful magician like Moro could work with something like that.
I like that Bibidi created Majin Buu because of what it means for Bibidi being a Warloc or Mage or however. He doesn't have as much power himself compared to Majin Buu but it's neat how he could make something that powerful. The essence of being a Mage in that way is kinda Coolio. However, the other explanation is neat too.
Quite a few similarities between Moro, Bibidi and Babidi. They're all warlocks or magicians. They all can live for apparently millions of years at a time. They all have some sort of connection with buu. This is getting interesting. Remember when they were saying this arc was filler? Feeling kinda stupid now.
It was to my understanding, and maybe it was a story cooked up, but it was a good one, Buu along with 13 other mysterious apparitions from space was a byproduct of the Big Bang. They didn't have a body, but all had a signature color, like Buu that is pink, and others were red, black, purple green and so on. As I stated, they had no body and were in the form of shapeless mass that possessed unusual energy. To make a long story short, Bibidi discovered the pink apparition and used his magic to give it form. There is a story of another apparition that was maybe dark purple and eventually took form on a planet. From the way the story went, these 13 apparitions were by nature, the original destructors of the same universe. With that said, that story could potentially extend the life of the Dragon Ball Franchise with a story that revolves around Buu's and Uub's consequential existence as he in particular was reincarnated as an unusually strong mortal.
I can’t believe I just saw an ad for ELSWORD of all things lmfaooooo. I used to play grand chase all fucking day. When I was a kid, I had to semi learn some Chinese (or Japanese idk) just to play elsword.
Its possible that Moro is the 1 who created Buu . Since Moro fought Daikaioh and the Southe supreme kai around 10 million years ago , and if Buu first showed up 5 million years ago , its quite possible . It makes more sense if you count not only Moro's battle power , but also his magic skills since he was so powerful that the daikaioh used most of his powers to seal him. To me a wizard that powerful can easily create a demon like buu + the whole story with the need of daikaioh and majin buu . Maybe Moro created Buu with the purpose of absorbing the kai's so he can have their power
I wish that his lore included him being the inspiration for Zeno to choose and appoint God's of Destruction. Like "hey, this thing is destroying everything. But at the same time, there's so much more room to create because of him. If we could have something like this in all the universes, it would help them all thrive. One Destroyer. And one Creator." (Hakaishin&Kaioshin)
The retcon can still make sense, which is nice. If something has been sleep so long that mfs forgot that it even existed, someone popping up with it under their control could be taken as them creating it, especially if a person used it as a scare tactic as well. This also doesn't change the characters.
I prefer the original explanation. I don't mind toriyama's openness to explore different ideas about the dragon Ball universe, but sometimes those ideas are bad.
There is a fan project, Dragon ball new age, with the backstory of the creation of the 12 universes by devine entities, and one of them created majin buu right after universe s conception. Bibidi only knew the spell to release buu.
I like to think Buu was simply the first demon in existence. A rotten fruit of the Kaiju Tree. The name Majin translates into Demon, so it's a solid theory in my opinion. He awakens in between Beerus's hibernation cycles to avoid being destroyed. He may also be a balance for Beerus, since he is too lazy, but as he grew more evil overtime, he just destroyed chaotically.
Majin Buu’s history kinda reminds me of Chrono trigger and Lavos, and how Lavos landed on earth at year 65 million bc if I remember correctly, and I think stayed dormant until the year 1999 AD

Moro: The great lord of lords never told you what happened to your father.
Bibidi: He told me enough! He told me you killed him!
Moro: No, I am your father.
Bibidi: NOOOOOOOO!!! *turns to the dark side.
Galactic patrol somehow imprisons him but not Buu, the one he (lets jusy say )created. Hard to believe and already sounds like a silly idea
@@UnifiedEntity If Buu existed since 'time immemorial' they would obviously have to say that he wasn't released from his cocoon yet or hibernating or something to that effect, or else he'd be out and about anyway. :)
The bibbity origin never sat right with me, cause buu was sooo powerful. I’m happy with the new ambiguous explanation!
i feel like well before the Kaioshin and Hakaishin existed, Xeno (or the Grand Priest) created Buu as a playmate (a best friend) that had a little more durability than his usual toys of the universe, but just like Toriyama-Sensei's retcon he became wild and uncontrollable over time exploring planets of the universe being exposed to probably several asshole mortal races who didn't want to share their pudding, then after just being lost in the universe, after cycles of napping and destruction, the kaioshin and hakaishin were created to forge a balance of power in the universe, eventually Bibidi wanted selfish control over the realm of the kaioshin and somehow came across a slumbering Buu and cast a spell on him, turning him into Majin Buu. there.
Excellent points. Moro could be older than Bibidi. Maybe Moro DID create Kid Buu himself, or found a way to corrupt him. & Its not really a retcon if Toriyama mentioned the original origin of Kid Buu. He's just adding to that element, not changing it per say.
This was all retconned.
Hopefully.. the next arc will give us some clue about kid buu's existence and what is his connections with the gods
I don’t mind this retcon. The Kai could be telling the story that he was told, but stories get changed over time.
I hated buu before but dbfz made me really like Kid Buu. It even made me revisit the Buu arc after years and enjoyed it even more.
This is definitely needed, especially with this Moro arc coming into play. Thanks Big D👑
Thanks for Elsword! I downloaded it through your link. :)
....ak gcscnibtd😢sa
Awesome video as always Geekdom! Love the editing! Thank you!
So one theory I’ve heard that I’m kinda mixed on is that buu is a sort of Proto-GoD like a rough draft made by the angels or some other primordial force. After realizing that his power and actions were uncontrollable, it was decided to lock him away and swing more towards what we know now to be how the gods work
Or as another theory, he existed as a way to completely wipe a universe, but I doubt that seeing as xeno can erase a universe by saying “squish”
I like that retconned, it gives him more story and background.
I see him differently now.
I literally almost dipped when you brought up the Beerus thing because I thought you were going to bring up some good theory material or something instead of throwing out the most obvious answer.
Demonitized Demonz word
You know that's the thing. Most people don't realize that somethings aren't explained until years after the show was done.
kid buu>Buuhan>Super buu>Majin buu not power it's we like kid buu well not everyone
@Trex 2402 or that
@MAIN SATIRIST he would've. Kid buu isn't the strongest just the most unpredictable. Wouldn't make any sense for him to be the stromgest
Awesome video brother!
Learned a lot from this video. Thanks Geekdom
Regarding the Buu saga. Most ppl hated it at first, but as decades it started to grow on ppl and nowadays most people love it
Whis created buu to destroy planets while beerus trains for a god of destruction.
Whis wouldn't create a monster to kill supreme kais, whis would've kept tabs on him.
I think Buu should've been retconned into a God of Destruction who went rogue.
Corrupted god of destruction. Daymn that sounds good, and terrifying
The Namekian Book of Legends can reconcile all plot holes and inconsistencies...
...that’s why we’ll never see or hear about it again.
~_~
Best dragon ball youtuber
Geekdom Gaming? Yes please!
But that's mainly at twitch.
I love these kind of videos
I honestly wonder if there’s enough info to do a video on the Namekian Book of Legends, because I can’t be the only one confused by that.
Love your videos my man! Hey so who thinks kid Buu was the strongest Buu?
Love that you show Mick Foley when speaking about mankind lol
Didn’t expect “Geekdom” and “quickie” to be in the same thumbnail. I was not disappointed.
What kind of microphone your using.. Man it's so crisp & clear
Majin Buu(especially Kid Buu) in general is so fucking underrated as a villain.
Buu Looks Like The Gum That i Had yesterday
😂😂😂😂
Makes sense. Buu almost wiped the floor up with Bibidi nor could he really control him.
Can you do video on this Namakian book of legends please. It's really irritating that it was never brought up again
Love your wrestling references ^^.

Hey
Riley sup , who ever u are

I thought the retcon for beerus was that he thought he would be safe even if the kais died due to the sealed old kai.
You should do a video on the namekian book of legends
Man this makes me wana play Elsword again.
The retcon can still make sense, which is nice. If something has been sleep so long that mfs forgot that it even existed, someone popping up with it under their control could be taken as them creating it, especially if a person used it as a scare tactic as well. This also doesn't change the characters.
Okay so I like the whole time in memorial back story, because I came up with an in depth head cannon version around that back story.
Video starts 0:50
It would actually be good if Toyotaro used this new arc to clear up this retcon.
I'd love to see Kid Buu again.
I prefer the original explanation. I don't mind toriyama's openness to explore different ideas about the dragon Ball universe, but sometimes those ideas are bad.
It creates some kind of mystery of majin buu I like that recon.
There is a fan project, Dragon ball new age, with the backstory of the creation of the 12 universes by devine entities, and one of them created majin buu right after universe s conception.
Bibidi only knew the spell to release buu.
Kid buu is my favourite villain, he's just pure terror and destruction
Hey Geekdom, I gotta hunch that you know something about the new saga for DBS in the Manga when you dropped that random question at the end regarding Morro and Majin Buu...
This might sound weird, but I really don't take anything Toriyama says as canon anymore after the end of Z. It really feels like he pulls things out of his ass when making new characters and explaining already established lore, with no regards as to what he wrote before.
