  • So often the medical community and society at large falsely assume that couples that are navigating ALS are not interested in, or in need of, erotic pleasure. They are wrong. Touch and physical connection are part of thriving. After identifying common barriers to intimacy, Kimberly Wallace-Young, PhD, will present tools and strategies for accessing pleasure.

    About the presenter: Kimberly Wallace-Young has spent much of her career working at the University of Kansas Health System. She worked in the OB/GYN department, partnering with the pelvic pain specialists, reproductive endocrinologists, gender specialists and urologists. She continues to partner with the KU providers and, in addition, work very closely with local acupuncturists, pelvic floor physical therapists and trauma therapists. Kim currently has a private practice focused on emotional and intimacy therapy in the Kansas City area (Healing Like Wildflowers Emotional and Intimacy Therapy).
