I have to whole heartily agree concerning the use of a tripod, even a cheapie is better than nothing! You will find the " keeper rate " will increase, thereby decreasing the amount of shots taken imho... The swallow at the very beginning was a stunner shot btw & that one shot for me would make the day a good day for me... :-) Bill Farr, Vermont, USA...
You guys must plan a quick vacation to Florida some time when we don't have any guests and we can take you out for some Florida bird watching. It would be a cheap and easy vacation coupled with some great bird photography.

You guys need to start using a tripod/gimbal head system. The results are well worth the little bit of a hassle carrying it around.
