- Happy new year! It's nearly my first anniversary on RUclips, thank you to everyone who has given me continuous support over the past months while I'm away. This needle felting fruit cake is inspired by my all time favourite needle felted artist- Rio Fukuda, she has done amazing felted desserts and published her books and had her own exhibitions.
For an introduction on needle felting please watch this video: • Needle Felting Basics ...
Tools and Supplies I used in this video:
* Felting Wool : amzn.to/2WMl7L4
* Clover Pen Style Needle Felting Tool: amzn.to/2QHFohf
* Individual Felting Needles(5 Needles): amzn.to/2y6l1E1
**FAQ**
1. What is needle felting?
Felting is one of the oldest fibre crafts, it is a process to create an object made with wool fibres. There are two types- one is dry (needle) felting and the other one is wet felting. This video shows the creations I made with dry felting, this process uses a special barbed needle to create friction between the fibres when you use the needle to poke them up and down. This allows the fibre to tangle together and creates a volume. There is no rule to needle felting, however safety is very important and always watch what you are doing.
2. Which needle did you use?
I used a size 38 star needle.

Here is a good needle felting starter kit for you to begin project: amzn.to/2UxFDww This felting kit has 40 beautiful colors felting wool yarn, but also many basic needle felting supplies. Highly recommend!
This is so darn cute! I never think to make stuff like this. I make multicolored hearts rather compulsively, and give them away, but this is a new idea. I've lately started making birds!
It's really cool how you made the cake & cream wedges in exactly the same size! I always find making duplicates tricky, since it's so hard to keep track on how much the felt compresses. Would love to see the fruit piece tutorial :3
Usually i split them up, and weigh the wool on a scale. The magic of felting is that you can always add more to a creation, so sometimes if i see uneven sides I just add more!
This reminds me of cooking mama
Kayla Than same music.

I found my needles and supplies at hobby lobby you can find them in the fabric area:)
So kawaii:)!!
this looks really cool ill knead to make this spoon cuz it may be knife to have if i dont say fork it and actually make it lol
Thanks i was just wondering
lovely where do we find the fruit recipe! :)
Does it HAVE to be a felting needle would something like this not work if you used a normal sewing or a knitting needle also does it have to be a certain kind of felt would normal left over fabric work as well? This looks super cute btw
Why don't you give it a try and tell me. My experiences tell me that you HAVE to use a felting needle and felting wool.
Yeah I tried it with wool I broke it all apart so it was like fluff and used a thick sewing needle it didn't do anything and when I tryed rolling it into balls they all sort off seperated and pretty much it failed :/ I guess this stuff does only work with the felting stuff (also I posted that question 6 months ago!)
Can you recommend any needle felting kits for beginners?
I'm so sorry for spamming this video, but I urgently need cold porcelain help!
In the past I have made really good cold porcelain with Elmers glue, however this time I used a different brand and thins aren't turning out well. It is way too soft and really sticky when I try to knead it. I added more corn starch and even microwaved it for over a minute but nothing seems so help. I am using it for a project that requres me to blend and thin it our a lot, but when it's this sticky I can't do anything without getting it all over the place. Also, when I hold the plastic wrapped clay with my fingers fanned out, it quickly droops down a little and leaves imprints on the package. I let it rest for a day but nothing helped. Is there anything I can try to do to fix this problem, because I need to use this clay for a project due in a couple days. Thank you!~
Can u show us how to felt a kawaii deer~Thank you sooooo much🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Themusic sounds like cooking mama! :D But super cute!
hi, may i know where do you buy the logo P? thx u :)
The wool is called: felting wool, wool slivers, and/or needle felt wool
Which app you using for edit
Do you need to use the specific multi needle tool or, can you just use one needle? Thanks and great video!
Yes, I know that! I am talking about the beginning of the video where she uses the 'multi needle tool' you know, the 'tool' that holds 'multiple' 'needles' at a time; the 'multi needle tool'. I specified it in my earlier question that you did not help answer. I know you need to use a felting needle, don't you think I would check the description box before I asked people to spend there time answering my questions, which by the way you did not help answer! So please, can you reread my concern and see if you could possibly answer it this time ?
I said "don't you think I would check the description box first" because I would! It's the honest truth and I am sure you would too before asking a question because most people don't like to have other people say "check the description box"! Also I am pretty sure there is a difference between the two tools. Actually I am sure there is a difference because one has MULTIPLE needles unlike just using one felting needle. I came to my own conclusions about the two tools though. The multi one is better to use for larger pieces because it helps them get their shape faster and covers more surface area at once. However the single needle method would require a lot more poking for a large shape and, it would take a long time for their to be a definite difference between a lump of wool and a layer of cake. I posted the original question to get other peoples input on the tool and to know if it was really necessary if I wanted to do this.
I have every right to say that you did not answer my question because you didn't. If it hurt your feelings, then it hurt your feelings, but it was not intended to make you feel bad. I was just stating that you didn't end up helping me in anyway when it comes down to it. Maybe you read it and interpreted it as harsh, but I was just telling you the truth! I am sorry that this ended up hurting your feelings, but I will not apologize for my earlier comments because they were all true.
***** Yes, that's right! Thanks for helping it out!
pufftique I am so dizzy seeing all those comments~~~~~~>_
Can you make a tutorial on the fruits?
i am waiting for ur new video again...
We're did you get the fruit
what kind of wool do you use
cool
Is there a chance of poking your hand with the needle?? I really wanna try it but I'm a bit worried 😓
yes, there is. the first time i tried i poked my finger 5 times. the key is to work slow. i was working really fast 😂
+yirl bla zaw You can prevent your fingers from getting hurt if you put 4-7 stripes of duct tape on a latex glove. :O
Might seem scary, but it's mostly that you dont see it comming, does not hurt that much. You could use a thimble, but I don't like that because I want to feel what I'm doing. I would say just do it, felting is really fun, and if you work carefully and slow the chance of you poking yourself is way smaller, and also, smal pieces are trickier
Make more tutorials!!
how much would you sell these for
This is so cute!!! Um, is it okay for a beginner to do this?? Heh.
Sure, anyone can make it~
